Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer JM Jopson was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11. when DANCE JUDGE weighed in 1.2 kgs under his last race weight on 13 March 2008.
Club secretary Mr T Music was questioned in regards to the scratching of PAXTON BALE. He stated that there was a confusion in communications between himself and AC Roberts the trainer of PAXTON BALE. This was in part due to the nominations being taken on a raceday with a number of distractions. In this instance Mr Music was issued with a warning to ensure that if this situation occurs again sufficient personnel are available to perform the duties.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE SPRINT - C5 - 295 All clear. STOKER (M&J Hill) was a late scratching at kennelling with a right hind lacerated pad. Rule 68.26. 7 days up to and including 2 April 2008.
Race 2 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C1/2d - 645 The lure broke down after about 100 metres due to a burnt rectifier. All dogs were then checked by the veterinarian with KOSTYA BALE and MR. JAZZ declared late scratchings due to injuries sustained. The race was rerun ten minutes later after the lure had been changed and tested. The boxes for the restart were triggered manually as the trigger mechanism on the replacement lure was not protruding sufficiently to activate the sensor. There were no incidents in the rerun. KOSTYA BALE (AC Roberts) was a late scratching with a lacerated left foreleg at the elbow after hitting the lure at the initial start. Rule 68.26. 21 days up to and including 16 April 2008. MR. JAZZ (J&D Fahey) was also a late scratching after the same incident with right hind split webbing. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 5 April 2008.
Race 3 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP DASH - C3/4 - 295 This race was put back by two minutes due to the delay in the previous race. VULCAN EARL, MULISHA BALE and BEAU came together soon after the jump and lost ground. VULCAN EARL did well to run fourth. Into the bend MICRO SISSY was badly tightened between runners and lost ground checking to the outside. As a result FREDERICK BAXTER ran into her hind quarters and fell. FREDERICK BAXTER regained his feet and completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. There was no head on view available from Trackside.
Race 4 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER STAKES - C2/3 - 520 RIVIERA CHIC was tightened into the first bend losing ground. PAYTON BALE (AC Roberts) club scratching (see judicial).
Race 5 www.canterburyproperty.co.nz STAKES - C4/5 - 520 NO ILLUSIONS was checked soon after the jump between runners and dropped to the rear where she stayed. Into the first bend BAXTERS LAD and NITRO MARTA came together and these dogs again tangled for a few strides in the back straight. Both dogs finished out of the money.
Race 6 WILSONS SPORTS BAR DISTANCE - C0d - 645 WINSOME GRACE came up with the lids losing a few lengths and settling well back.
Race 7 NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES #15 DISTANCE FINAL - RESd - 732 JIN JU was handy until the first bend when she was squeezed between runners and dropped back checking ANYTIME SOON in the process. These two dogs lost ground and settled well back.
Race 8 www.christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz DASH - C5 - 295 ROSIE RETURN was tightened into the bend and lost ground. Soon after the favourite CAWBOURNE MOLLY ran outwards taking ROSIE RETURN, STRATUS BERKELEE and ROCKY POCKETS over extra ground.
Race 9 HAMPDEN TAVERN R/A FEATURE - R/A - 520 The favourite MCCRACKEN got into all sorts of trouble as he tried to run outwards in the run to the first bend tightening BERT BADGER, DREAMY HAZE and CHILE COMMAND with all of these dogs losing ground. PARANOVA (JF Allen) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 31 March 2008.
Race 10 SISTER CITY TONIGHT @ 11.41PM DASH - C3/4 - 295 ASAFA BALE was slow away and remained wide out throughout the race finishing in last place. HOMER HAND was tightened into the first bend and lost ground through the field.
