Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Trainer AM Cleaver was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11. when NUTTY SQUIRREL weighed in 1.1 kgs above its last race weight on 17 February 2008.
Trainer Mrs CJ Derecourt was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11. when SMART WAVES weighed in 1.6 kgs under its last race weight on 10 February 2008.

Race 1 PACIFIC SHEET & COIL AUCKLAND CUP CARNIVAL SPRINT - C0 - 318 PROOF PISTOL ran outwards into the bend with SKIP THE LABEL being forced over extra ground as a result. SHOOT THE BACON was handy but wide into the bend and dropped away in the straight. A post race veterinary check revealed a hock strain with a fourteen day stand down recommended. STANS THE MAN was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a cut toe with a ten day stand down recommended. STANS THE MAN (G Calverley) cut toe requiring sutures. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 11 March 2008. SHOOT THE BACON (G Calverley) left hock strain. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 15 March 2008.
Race 2 TERRY RYAN TIMBER SPRINT - C3 - 318 RESERVE DECISION ran wide into the home straight causing checks to DREAMAQUEEN and COMICAL ALI with these dogs finishing towards the rear.
Race 3 TROPHIES PLUS SPRINT - C0 - 318 RAPID FOOT and ONSET were both very slow to jump. SCARFACE PAW was checked on the bend when looking for room. He also appeared to lose footing for a stride in the home straight but found the line well for fifth. On the home turn RAPID FOOT ducked outwards checking MOON DANCER when both dogs were well back. SUNSET SERIES (Jensen/Ramsay) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 3 days up to and including 4 March 2008.
Race 4 PELORUS TRUST STAKES - C1 - 527 BETHELLS BABE, CHIVAS REGAL and CAWBOURNE WELLSY were tightened and came together into the first bend and settled well back. BETHELLS BABE finished last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. CAWBOURNE WELLSY received another check on the home bend and did well to finish fifth.
Race 5 CAROL'S TAB SPRINT - C1 - 318 BROOKE BAND was inclined to run outwards in the early rush checking KINSALE LAD for a stride.
Race 6 THE INTERISLANDER SPRINT FINAL - C1f - 318 YOUNG VALIANT was checked into the bend when FLYING SQUADRON crossed him. TAKE HIM dragged MAD DECISION down from behind on the first bend with both dogs losing their chances. A post race veterinary check on MAD DECISION revealed no injury.
Race 7 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS SPRINT - C4 - 318 SMART WAVES checked outwards off the pacemaking HOT DOC into the turn. This resulted in MISS COOL DASH, DREAM OF CYRUS and WACK all being inconvenienced and losing ground. RIALTO GUN also received a chequered run into the bend in behind runners.
Race 8 THORNTON AUCTIONS AUCKLAND DERBY - R/Af - 527 FIESTY was slow to jump from the outside. REWIRED climbed on the back of THANK YOU JIM into the first turn with both dogs losing all chance. Post race veterinary checks on both dogs revealed no injuries. At the lure the winner COOL GROOVY fell with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. GENISTA FLYER (JE Dunn) diarrhoea. Race 9 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C2 - 318 PLENTY OF DASH faltered soon after the jump and tailed the field throughout. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn gracilis with a twenty one day stand down recommended. SERGEANT SCREAM (G Calverley) left hind hock strain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 12 March 2008. CORUBA CREEK (GR Farrell) right longhead triceps strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 6 March 2008. PLENTY OF DASH (W Steele) torn left gracilis. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 22 March 2008.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL 6 PACK STAKES - C2/3 - 527 KING JACK was last to jump but stormed home wide on the track to win in the last stride. KADDLEY and THRILLING ROCCO came together on the first turn as KADDLEY tried to cross from his outside draw. Both dogs lost ground and finished towards the rear. KEEP YA COOL (W Steele) starter in Race 8.
