Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer JT McInerney was fined $50.00 on each of 2 charges under Rule 69.11. when ASAFA BALE (Race 2) and HOMEBUSH BEX (Race 8) weighed in 1.1kgs and 1.4kgs respectively under their last race start weights.
Trainer JM Jopson was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11. when CONSTABLE KEITH weighed in 1.3kgs under his last race start weight.
Trainer KJ Cassidy was warned of his obligations under Rule 71.2 following his reporting late for race preparation in respect of MULLBERRY CHIEF in Race 10.

UTTER MADNESS who was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a right fore outside sesamoid sprain with a 10 day stand down recommended. Race 2 | CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C3/4 - 520 | BIG TEASE and LAGOON LAD were squeezed into the first bend losing ground to finish at the rear. ASAFA BALE who led into the home straight drifted out to finish fifth. The dog was swabbed and a post race veterinary check revealed no injury to the dog however at a later examination was found with a right fore 4th toe laceration with a 10 day stand down recommended.. Race 3 | THE INTERISLANDER SPRINT - C0 - 295 | KNOW FLIRT lost all chance at the start when not leaving the boxes. This was the second consecutive meeting she had failed to jump cleanly and was ordered to undertake a box trial in accordance with Rule 72.13. From the jump BONNIE BEAU ran outwards and checked HOMEBUSH ERNIE. Into the turn HE'S SO FINE checked off PAREORA LASS who in turn went back on top of HOMEBUSH BURT, but all three dogs recovered to finish in the top four placings. Into the home straight KNOW FLIRT moved outwards and came into contact with HOMEBUSH ERNIE with a check to HANSOME HARRY. All three dogs finished towards the rear of the field. MAJESTIC BILL (RP Breen) soft tissue injury to fifth toe of left front foot. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 16 March 2008. KNOW FLIRT (GA Cleeve) to undertake a box trial in accordance with Rule 72.13. |
Race 4 | ADDINGTON FUNCTION CENTRE STAKES - C0 - 520 | CLAN MCDEE was squeezed up from the jump and lost momentum but finished on late for fourth. Into the first turn HATIPOV and MAJOR BLUE came together and lost ground to finish towards the rear, while into the back straight SMART SHARMILA checked off WILLY FLIRT and forced RAVAILLAC wide on the track. TINY HAND (R Adcock) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 3 March 2008. |
Race 5 | DANNY MILLWARD PLASTERING SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the home straight BY GORRIE DORRIE ran outwards from the rail and checked the running of MY BAXTER with both dogs finishing towards the rear. |
Race 6 | TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C1 - 295 | MURPHYS MISTAKE came up with the lids. Into the bend LAGOON FARNHAM and COREYS COMET ran outwards tightening MURPHYS MISTAKE, ALECIA RELTUB and KNOW WHAT, all five losing their chance of placing. SAINT DANIEL (JT McInerney) infected right hock. Dog presented and veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 1 March 2008. BOTOX BARBIE (MJ Flipp) starter in Race 11. |
Race 7 | SCHULTZ PANEL & PAINT STAKES - C0 - 520 | From the jump ARBUCKLE PARK crossed over to the rail and checked the running of ANYTIME SOON with both dogs tailing off to finish at the rear. On the turn ELITE GUN checked off GUNNA SMOKE who was forced back on top of TIPITS TO SMART which lost ground to finish fifth. |
Race 8 | GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY SPRINT - C0 - 295 | In the run to the first bend BREENYS BOY drifted back through the field checking the running of AWESOME FLASH both dogs tailing off to finish at the rear. |
Race 9 | WILSON'S SPORTS BAR & STAKES - C4 - 520 | All clear. TOMMY LEE WHISKY (JT McInerney) scratched at Christchurch on 21 February 2008. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 27 February 2008. HOMEBUSH BRADLEY (JT McInerney) injury to left hind sesamoid. Dog presented and veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 3 March 2008. |
Race 10 | PICK 6 LEG 1 - C1/2 - 295 | On the turn THEMELO checked off the rear of GATLIN ANGEL and forced NITRO JAKE wide. Both THEMELO and NITRO JAKE lost all chances and finished towards the rear. CHILE DAN (GA Cleeve) withdrawn as a club scratching. Downgraded to c1 but inadvertently drawn into a c2 event. |
Race 11 | www.christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz DASH - C1/2 - 295 | From the jump HOMEBUSH BREE crossed over and AGENT BRISTOW pushed outwards causing a check to DASH DOT DASH, POWERFAST BORIS and CHILE WILL HE with these three dogs losing ground. On the turn CHILE WILL HE climbed into the rear of CLAN PHOENIX who stumbled and tailed off to finish last. A post race veterinary check on CLAN PHOENIX showed that no injury was sustained as a result of the incident. IN YOUR FACE (KJ Cassidy) deceased. MULBERRY CHIEF (KJ Cassidy) starter in Race 10. |
Race 12 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER STAKES - C1 - 520 | JACKALICIOUS was slow to jump before improving wide running on late for third. |
Race 13 | MURRAY @ RE/MAX PH 03-371-5005 SPRINT - C3 - 295 | In the run to the turn WHISKY LEE GIRL and THRILLING FURY were tightened as the field came together, and both dogs lost all chances to finish at the rear. |
Race 14 | ROBBIE'S BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C1 - 520 | WHATA HOON was very slow to leave the boxes and finished well back in the field in seventh place. WITH A RHYTHM (J&D Fahey) injury to left hind gluteal. Dog presented and veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 2 March 2008. |
Race 15 | SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C2/3 - 520 | HOMEBUSH BUBBLES was checked by an improving SCOTT NO TRACK caross the top drifting out to finish near the rear. In the home straight SCOTT NO TRACK checked out off MICK BAXTER and KAKAMA losing ground and finishing fourth. |
