Race 1 MCENTEE EVENT HIRE - C0q - 305 Heat 1 KIKI KATE was awkwardly away and settled at the rear and stayed there to the finish.
Race 2 GARY ROSS DECORATOR - C0q - 305 Heat 1 INTENTION KNOWN was a late scratching at 11-30 a.m. on race day due to a reported seasonal condition. The Trainer was ordered to present the dog for inspection under Rule 64.15 and the Vet confirmed that there did appear to be slight signs of a season. GOOD CATCH began very awkwardly losing several lengths and all chance and he finished in last place. RUNAWAY ROSCO was handy to the first corner but collided with BIGTIME GROOVY losing several lengths and the chance of a dividend placing. INTENTION KNOWN Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64.10 and 68 A late scratching due to a seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 18.03.08.
Race 3 INTERISLANDER - C1q - 520 Heat 1 STORM LARGE was checked entering the back straight losing four lengths and she finished in last place. FOUR WHITE SOX G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 64 Suffering from a pad injury and stood down for 4 days to and including 22.02.08.
Race 4 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1 - 305 ELLES HOT was tightened between WHISPERING HOME and CEDI SPECIAL in the first couple of strides and lost ground. She settled at the rear and finished well back. TERROR JIM Ex Manawatu on 18.02.08.
Race 5 KEENAN CONCRETE 6 PACK - C2 - 305 CRYSTAL SAL was away very awkwardly losing several lengths and she finished well back. THRILLING MELODY drew box 8 and was forced to race wide throughout over extra ground and finished in last place. MR BRIGHTSIDE suffered an abrasion above a hock and was examined by the Vet but no stand down was required. DADDY'S DESTINY B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from enteritis and stood down for 5 days to and including 23.02.08.
Race 6 GEON WELLINGTON - C0q - 305 Heat 1 LARRISA LYN was slow to begin and raced well back throughout and finished last. LARRISA LYN appeared to be suffering from cramp after the race, was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. MOON HONEY D.Gough Rule 64 Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 5 days to and including 24.02.08.
Race 7 WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C1q - 520 Heat 1 BIGTIME PAUL was disputing the lead with HUTT PARK FLYER starting the final bend but appeared to be hindered by HUTT PARK FLYER and lost three lengths. BIGTIME PAUL recovered to win the race narrowly. BIGTIME ENCORE D.Gough Rule 64 Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 5 days to and including 24.02.08.
Race 8 WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C1q - 520 Heat 1 CHAMSIN CREEK and THRILLING CHARM were handy to the first corner but collided and dropped back to the rear and they never recovered and finished well back.
Race 9 PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C0q - 305 Heat 1 SEDGEBROOK BOND was slow to begin and tailed the field throughout to finish in last place.
Race 10 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C1 - 305 The favourite NICE CHOICE ran in from the start and jostled with MIDNIGHT SPOT and QUICK LAUGH for several strides. NICE CHOICE was again checked on the first corner and ran wide on the bend and finished in 2nd last place.
