Race 1 INTERISLANDER - C2 - 375 CRYSTAL SAL was hit on the hind quarters on the home turn and turned sideways and as a result ran wide into the straight forcing STARLIGHT WOODS, THRILLING SNOW, LAGGON RISE and RAJ JAR very wide into the straight over extra ground.
Race 2 OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C1/2 - 457 All clear.
Race 3 KERB & CONCRETE DISTANCE MAIDEN - C0d - 766 DON THE HOP began very awkwardly and lost several lengths and raced well back for most of the journey. TIZZY LEE BUCKET was checked on the first corner and ran very wide into the bend losing several lengths. TIZZY LEE BUCKET recovered well to finish in 3rd place. THRILLING SUNNY S.Gommans Rule 82 Suffered a hind leg muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 15.02.08.
Race 4 DAILY GREYS TIPLINE 0900-42477 - C4 - 375 The favourite CREATIVE TEQUILA was checked in the race to the first corner and lost ground but recovered to finish in 3rd place. CAWBOURNE BANDIT Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 Suffering from a shoulder muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 11.02.08.
Race 5 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST MIDDLE DISTANCE - C4 - 457 All clear. ROYAL RICHIE Ex Wanganui on 01.02.08.
Race 6 MANAWATU CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SPRINT - C4 - 375 BIGTIME ELLA was the slowest away and then raced wide on the bend but finished very well to win.
Race 7 MCENTEE EVENT HIRE DASH - C5 - 375 The favourite PUNISH raced at the rear throughout and finished several lengths behind the other runners. PUNISH was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. BLUE SOLDIER Ex Auckland on 03.02.08. EXPRESS SOLDIER Gained a start in race 8.
Race 8 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST SPRINT - C5 - 375 The winner GO NOW moved across from the start and checked GONE WILD, EXPRESS SOLDIER, FORCE OF REVENGE, ROYAL ESCORT and MARTY HALL who all lost ground. ROYAL ESCORT hit the rail hard in the incident and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with bruising and lacerations. EXPRESS SOLDIER also suffered a toe injury in the incident and was stood down for 7 days. THRILLING JASPER was slow to begin and then raced around the dogs affected in the early tightening and finished in 2nd place. HARKA LEE Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64 Suffering from a hock joint injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 06.02.08. ROYAL ESCORT B.Craik Rule 82 Suffered from bruising and lacerations and stood down for 10 days to and including 15.02.08. EXPRESS SOLDIER S.Clark Rule 82 Suffered a toe injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 12.02.08.
Race 9 WIZARD HOME LOANS MANAWATU CUP - C5f - 457 THRILLING LUCY and LISA SHIRAZ were tightened and checked back to the rear on the first corner and never recovered. SYDENHAM SMITH was checked near the home turn, went back to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 10 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST NANCY COBAIN MEMORIAL - C2d - 766 One of the favourites THRILLING MAC was a little slow away and was last into the first corner but then made ground well to finish in 3rd place. EXCUSED B.Cole Rule 64 Suffering from a hock injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 03.03.08.
