Judicial report: Weather: Fine Before the meeting Trainer Mr N.P. Green sought clarification from the Stewards as to the use of the tracking devices for this meeting. Although trainers had received notification that they might be used it was felt that advance notification of the specific races would be desirable. The Stewards agreed to take this matter up with Greyhound Racing NZ.
Trainer GJ Noakes was fined $50.00 after admitting a breach of Rule 69.11. when he presented COMICAL ALI 1.1kgs over its last race weight on 24 January 2008.

Race 1 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1 - 527 HOMEBUSH STELLA was the slowest to jump and remained last throughout.
Race 2 PAT'S GARAGE SPRINT - C1 - 318 POSITIVE GOLD appeared to stumble after a couple of strides settling well back. DREAM A WIN ran inwards in the run to the bend tightening ANNELIESE and EDDIE TOMCAT with these dogs losing their chances.
Race 3 CHILLI'S RESTAURANT & BAR SPRINT - C3/4 - 318 NEW CLEAR POWER was tightened between dogs when handy to the first bend and lost ground dropping to the rear. Into the bend DREAMAQUEEN was crossed by FLAT WHITE and lost ground on the rail.
Race 4 OXYSHOT ELMORE OIL STAKES - C2 - 527 THRILLING EVO was very slow to leave the traps. On the first bend TIGGER FOOT ran outwards sharply checking THRILLING ROCCO with these dogs drifting to the rear. TIGGER FOOT ran again late for fourth. SIMPLY BLESSED was also checked in this incident but recovered quickly to remain in third place.
Race 5 PELORUS TRUST STAKES - C4 - 527 All clear.
Race 6 RODEWALD HART BROWN SPRINT - C5 - 318 EXPRESS SOLDIER jumped to the lead and crossed to the rail checking BIG PA and LONGFORD ANNIE in the process. END ZONE also received some backwash in this incident. Following the race a post race veterinary check was carried out on BLUE SOLDIER which revealed a dislocated toe with a twenty one day stand down recommended. BLUE SOLDIER (SP Clark) left fore digit dislocation. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 23 February 2008.
Race 7 THERMOPEUTIC PRODUCTS SPRINT - C1 - 318 All clear. MISS EILEEN (SP Clark) right carpal sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 6 February 2008.
Race 8 THE INTERISLANDER STAKES - C4/5 - 527 ANDREW THE BRAVE was awkward out of the boxes settling last where he stayed. TEEJAY (DD Schofield) right hock strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 8 February 2008.
Race 9 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C2/3 - 318 MOHICAN HARRY was slow away settling last. COMICAL ALI received a slight check when in tight quarters into the bend. He ran on when clear for fourth. BLACK ELLY (HR Bond) thorn in left fore foot. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 4 February 2008.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL SPRINT - C2 - 318 BIG ARCHIE was slow to jump. He ran on late for fifth. JACKI FLEX went down on her nose soon after the jump and drifted out finishing a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn gracilis with a twenty eight day stand down recommended. JACKI FLEX (GN Pomeroy) torn right gracilis. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 1 March 2008.
