Judicial report: Weather: Fine The Wellington Club was fined $ 100-00 when their selector incorrectly placed LITTLE PRESSY in the Hurdle race field ahead of ARANUI JOKER who had more points. The Club then scratched LITTLE PRESSY which allowed ARANUI JOKER into the field and this was unacceptable. The Club was advised that the only way to have rectified the mistake was for a redraw to take place.

Race 4 | THE EMPIRE - PALMERSTON NORTH - C1 - 290 | SIMON and WHITE SPARTAN were checked back to the rear on the bend and they stayed there to the finish. |
Race 5 | PPG SPRINT - C4/5 - 290 | AFTERNOON DELITE checked off the heels of another runner on the bend and ran out and checked LUKE SAMMY ZAK and they lost ground and finished in the last two places. |
Race 6 | B & P ENGINEERING SPRINT - SPEC - 290 | GUS THE BUILDER galloped on the back of FARMOR BLISS on the bend and they both lost ground and all chance of a placing. CANONGATE O.Marron Rule 64 Scratched due to an injured wrist and now retired. |
Race 7 | TOTAL BODYSHOP E.J. WING MEMORIAL - C5 - 545 | OPAWA STATE was checked on the first corner and went back to last. OPAWA STATE was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with soreness in both wrists. OWNEY JOE TARR and DID SHE collided on first bend and DID SHE fell, suffered a serious hock injury and was euthanased. THRILLING HUGO galloped on the back of NGALA at the end of the back straight and both lost ground. THRILLING AFFAIR was pushed very wide in the incident but recovered to finish in 4th place. DID SHE G & S Hayden Holmes Rule 82 Checked and fell and suffered a fractured hock and was euthanased. OPAWA STATE J.Jopson Rule 82 Suffered soreness in both wrists and stood down for 10 days to and including 01.01.08. |
Race 8 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING WELLINGTON HURDLES - C1/2h - 545 | JUST A DRIP landed awkwardly over the 2nd hurdle and lost ground. JUST A DRIP suffered a cut leg and was stood down for 10 days.
