Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer JT McInerney was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11. when MULISHA BALE Race 6) weighed in 1.1kgs under his last race start weight.
Raceday judge Peter Rosanowski was charged with a breach of Rules 78.12, 78.18 and 88.1.o as a result of declaring the incorrect third placing in the second race - heat 2 of the First Sovereign Trust Galaxy Sprint. He pleaded guilty to the charge and in explanation said that both he and his assistant judge had called No 1 Laugarno Dennis in third place in their provisional call. There was dark shadowing around No8 Homebush Who who finished wide on the track and he omitted to have the image of that dog enhanced to eliminate the shadowing to ensure the third placing. After being approached after Race 4 by dog connections he reviewed the finish and found he was in error with his confirmed placings.
A fine of $350.00 was imposed by the Adjudicating Steward and the placings ammended as follows in accordance with Rule 78.18:
1st - Pizza Girl (JT McInerney)
2nd - Bright Conquest (DD Schofield)
3rd - Homebush Who (JT McInerney)

Race 1 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST GALAXY SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 CAWBORNE BOBBY ran outwards into the bend taking MERCY wide on the track. Both lost all chance filling the last two placings.
Race 2 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST GALAXY SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 PAINT THE STARS and BRIGHT CONQUEST were slow to jump. BRIGHT CONQUEST improved quickly checking KYLIE'S DILEMA who came back on DUWANNA HAND who ran wide as a result. ROYAL FERN came in contact with BRIGHT CONQUEST soon after losing ground. BRIGHT CONQUEST ran on for second with the others finishing at the rear. Following the Race 4 the judge reported that he had made an error with regarding the third and fourth placings. He had declared No 1 Laugarno Dennis (MM Grant) in third place with HOMEBUSH WHO (JT McInerney) fourth. A review of the photo lynx image revealed HOMEBUSH WHO to have finished third by a nose. A judicial hearing into the matter was opened.
Race 3 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ CUP - HEAT 1 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 Into the first bend as ANOTHER WHISKY went to the lead PADDY FLYIN' moved outward onto DABYNE SHIRAZ and LAGOON PHOENIX who was forced outwards causing OPAWA ROSE to check off heels and came back on SCOTEXCITED. SCOTEXCITED lost a lot of ground but recovered to run on late for fourth. In the same incident GROOVY AGAIN racing one off the rail was tightened and checked back, losing all chance.
Race 4 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ CUP - HEAT 2 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 Into the first bend TOMMY LEE WHISKY and REBA KEROMA came together with REBA KEROMA checked back to the rear. Into the back straight BLACKFOOT SAGE when midfield struck the running rail heavily free of interference, dropping out to finish last. A post race veterinary examination revealed a fractured right hock with a 28 day stand down recommended. Following the race had concluded and he had been led to the edge of the track by his handler, GELIGNITE collapsed and died. An autopsy was performed over the weekend by the club veterinarian which revealed death due to a heart attack. A full report from the veterinarian is to follow. BLACKFOOT SAGE (JT McInerney). Fractured right hock. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to an including 5 December 2007. GELIGNITE (J&D Fahey) died following race. Autopsy revealed arrhythmia resulting in a heart attack as the cause of death.
Race 5 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST GALAXY SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 Soon after the start HEAPS CLASSY drifted to the rear. Into the first bend KNOW SAY, ROSIE RETURN and ANOTHER LAUREL were tightened. Soon after ANOTHER LAUREL moved off the rail when disputing the pace and tightened TIGGERLONG FURY, PRAISE BE, and PUNISH who sustained checks and lost all chance, filling the last three placings.
Race 6 FIRST SOVEREIGH TRUST GALAXY SPRINT - HEAT 4 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 Into the bend HOMEBUSH FITZY moved across sharply toward the rail checking FANCY LINE and MULISHA BALE. Soon after FANCY LINE ran out and badly checked WIZELEE and THRILLING JASPER. At the same time MR FUGLES was squeezed and checked off the heels of FOUL PLAY and then climbed onto THRILLING JASPER losing more ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed WIZELEE to have sustained a fractured left hock with a 28 day stand down recommended. WIZELEE (J&D Fahey) fractured left hock. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 5 December 2007.
Race 7 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ CUP - HEAT 3 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 Into the first bend SANDAVE and SPECIAL SAGE came together and as a result both dogs lost ground. Soon after AUSSIE OPAWA angled off the rail and was forced very wide on the track by REBEL CASTE.
Race 8 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ CUP - HEAT 4 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 Into the bend CAWBOURNE BARON was squeezed and lost ground before running wide loosing even more ground before finishing seventh.
Race 9 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ CUP - HEAT 5 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 FANTA CLAWS struck OPAWA STATE'S heels into the first bend. Soon after COOL GROOVY ran wide taking an improving FANTA CLAWS wide on the track. Thes three dogs lost all chance to finish at the rear.
Race 10 FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST GALAXY SPRINT - HEAT 5 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 Into the bend OLD DANS MATE and PROSPERO came together checking ZIGGGY WAR CRY who was racing between them. ZIGGY WAR CRY dropped to the rear of the field and beat one home.
