Judicial report: Weather: Fine Charges under Rules 43.7 and 64.2 were laid against the trainer of SPECIAL SAGE (JT McInerney) in Race 13 in respect of the nomination and scratching of the greyhound SPECIAL SAGE without valid reason. The trainer stated that the dog was subject to a 10 day stand down from 15 October 2007 and he pleaded guilty to a charge of incorrectly nominating the greyhound under Rule 43.7. The hearing was opened and adjourned, and decision on penalty deferred, pending clarification of the stand down and status of the greyhound, noting the guilty plea under Rule 43.7.
A judicial committee hearing was also held with a charge under Rule 43.7 against the trainer of KARL BAXTER (JT McInerney) which was incorrectly nominated and raced in a Class 2 event at Addington on 2 October 2007. The trainer pleaded guilty to the charge.The dog was disqualified from the race and stake money of $316.25 earned was forfeited with amended placings in the race being Missing Been (AC Roberts), Lagoon Rise (JT McInerney) and Clan Nova (HG Cairns). No fine was imposed due to mitigating circumstances including the issue of the greyhound being incorrectly shown as the wrong class on the online nomination system at the time of nomination, the forfeiture of stake money, and the subsequent scratching of KARL BAXTER from a meeting of the Southland Greyhound Racing Club. Race 1	SOUTHERN TRUST SPRINT - C1 - 295	From the jump CATCH A DIVA pushed out and checked the running of ETOILE NOIR. Into the bend CLAN MCINERNEY and CHILE COMMAND came together and lost ground. CLAN MCINERNEY, CHILE COMMAND and ETOILE NOIR filled the last three placings.
Race 2	NUTRI-ZING DASH - C1 - 295	CHILE MAID and KNOW GLORY were slow to leave the boxes. As KNOW GLORY was improving into the bend it checked off the rear of ANOTHER PICNIC with both dogs finishing toward the rear. During that incident HOMEBUSH LARKIN was also checked and finished 7th.
Race 3	BARRON'S SUPPLIES STAKES - C0 - 520	WINSOME DIGNITY was slow out of the boxes and last into the first bend, but made ground in the back straight and ran home strongly to finish a very close second. TIZZY LEE BUCKET ran wide on the first turn and was always well back finishing in 6th place. SEMBAWANG RUBY (MJ Flipp) was a late scratching at kenneling with carpal pain in right foot. Race 4	GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY SPRINT - C2 - 295	CLAN PHOENIX missed the jump and tangled with WHISKY'S LAD on the turn with both dogs finishing well back in the field. In the run to the turn BOUNCEN BLITZEM checked off the rear of HOMEBUSH BREE causing interference to OHOKA FLIRT which lost ground to finish 7th. OHOKA FLIRT was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a sore right hip with a 10 day stand down recommended. OHOKA FLIRT (LJ Waretini) right hip soreness. Rule 82.1 10 days up to and including 1 November 2007.
Race 5	GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING SPRINT - C0 - 295	LAURA BRAND and GRANT A FORTUNE were slow to trap, and GRANT A FORTUNE tangled with BIG DAPTO on the turn but ran on strongly for 2nd. In the run to the turn BRIGHT GEORGE was tightened off the rear of AMREET and went back to finish in 7th place. CHILE WILL HE (GA Cleeve) was a late scratching when it was discovered that he had abrasions and bruising from an injured right fore leg caught in the wire door in the kennel. Rule 68.26. 7 days up to and including 29 October 2007.
Race 6	INVIEW PRINT STAKES - C1 - 520	SMOOTH STRIDER, HIDDEN SECRETS, APACHE MOHAWK and FREDDIE SAGE all tangled on leaving the traps and tailed off to fill the last four placings.
Race 7	DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C0 - 295	Into the bend MCMANUS pushed off the rail and impacted ELSIE BRAND and NEMO BRAND who were checked and finished at the rear of the field.
Race 8	WWW.WILLYWHATATSTUD.COM SPRINT - C2 - 295	In the run to the bend MULBERRY SNOOP was squeezed up between GROOVY SHOW and HOMEBUSH DAVE and tailed off to finish in last place. GROOVY SHOW was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed spike wounds and bruising to the left hind foot and a 7 day stand down was recommended. RICHMOND BOB (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kenneling with right hind leg medial metatarsal soreness. Rule 68.22. 10 days up to and including 1 November 2007. GROOVY SHOW (JE Dunn) spike wounds and bruising to left hind foot. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 29 October 2007.
Race 9	EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR & TAB STAKES - C2 - 520	In the run to the first turn BUD BALE pushed outwards and collided with STARLIGHT JEWEL which lost momentum. EMULATE, TRENDY GUY and SABA JEWEL all received a check during the incident and lost ground to fill the last three placings in behind STARLIGHT JEWEL.
Race 10	DENTRESE KENNELS PH 033125746 DASH - C3 - 295	HOMEBUSH JENNA received a check in the run to the turn when NITRO JAKE and CHILE DAN came together, but recovered on the turn and ran on fairly from the rear for 6th.
Race 11	TUESDAY PLACE PICK STAKES - C3 - 520	Into the first bend WINSOME DASH, racing in tight quarters, ran off the heels of DANCE JUDGE and cannoned into LOCHINVAR VUITON which in turn pushed FIERY FALCON wide on the track. LOCHINVAR VUITON ran on for fifth while FIERY FALCON dropped out to finish last. DANCING HARRY (M Robinson) torn left gracillus. Rule 64.12. Vet certificate supplied. 28 days up to and including 15 November 2007. BEE ROCCA (AC Roberts) right hock strain. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. 10 days up to and including 1 November 2007.
Race 12	CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP SPRINT FINAL - C1f - 295	HOMEBUSH AUSSIE pushed across from an outside draw and checked CALLING COLLECT and BOTOX BARBIE both dogs losing all chance and finishing at the rear of the field. KNOW FAITH collided with CALLING COLLECT on the home turn.
Race 13	WILSON'S SPORTS BAR & TAB STAKES - C5 - 520	In the back straight SMART THOMAS and BILLY BAXTER tangled, with BILLY BAXTER going backwards to second last into the home straight before running on strongly for 4th. ANOTHER WHISKY was subject to a post race vet check which revealed a strained right hock with a 14 day stand down reccommended. SPECIAL SAGE (JT McInerney) incorrectly nominated under Rule 43.7. A charge was preferred under Rule 64.2 withdrawn without valid reason. Penalty deferred subject to outcome of adjourned hearing. ANOTHER LLOYD (JT McInerney) right hind nailbed sore. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 27 October 2007. ANOTHER WHISKY (JT McInerney) right hock strain. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to an including 5 November 2007.
Race 14	KOLORFUL KANVAS DASH - C3 - 295	Soon after the start LEA BAXTER and SAINTLY MCGEE came together. Into the bend OUT COLD came across from an outside draw and tightened WHATA BUY and MISSING BEEN. In this incident LEA BAXTER and SAINTLY MCGEE were also checked.
Race 15	PICK 6 LEG 1 STAKES - C5 - 520	In the race to the turn WHISKY BOY checked off the hind quarters of WINSOME CYCLONE and tailed off to finish last.
Race 16	ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES FINAL - C1f - 520	Into the bend NEW SAGE checked off the heels of SATANS PLOT and pushed HONCHO BAY wide on the track. NEW SAGE went back to last but ran on again in the straight. NEW SAGE was subject to a post race vet check which revealed a ruptured medial ligament on left hind leg and a 21 day stand down was recommended. NEW SAGE (JT McInerney) ruptured medial ligament left hind leg. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 12 November 2007.
Race 17	MURRAY @ REMAX PH 033715005 SPRINT - C5 - 295	Racing to the bend in general tighening CRAZY HAND checked off the back of PIZZA GIRL and hit the running rail. CARZY HAND pulled up and took no further part and was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a broken right front leg and the dog was humanely euthanased.. CRAZY HAND (R Adcock) broken right front leg. Dog humanely euthanased.
Race 18	SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE DASH - C4 - 295	All clear
Race 19	WWW.CHRISTCHURCHGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ STAKES - C4 - 520	Racing down the back straight SCOTT NO TRACK was denied space to improve but ran on strongly late when clear.
Race 20	CANTERBURY DRAUGHT DASH - C5 - 295	All clear MULISHA BALE (JT McInerney) haemarhagic diarrhoea and vomiting. Dog presented. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 29 October 2007.
