Judicial report: Weather: Showery No weight variation fines were imposed due to a problem with the scales which have recently been calibrated but the Club were advised that they need to have them checked again before the next meeting.
Trainer W.Morris was fined $ 50-00 under Rule 88.1 o when he allowed a dog to escape from a vehicle.
A Security Guard employed by the Club was questioned as to why a gate onto the track had not been closed. His explanation was accepted but he was given a first and final warning regarding the matter.

Race 1 GO TO THE RACES DASH - C1 - 375 Going into the top turn FOG PATCHES checked back off the heels of JEFFIES FELLA and lost ground at that point MINSTRAL LAD raced wide into and around the top turn costing him valuable ground There was no head on coverage of this race from trackside. JEWEL W.Morris Rule 64 Suffering from a shoulder muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 22.10.07.
Race 2 MCENTEE EVENT HIRE SPRINT - C0 - 375 HOMEBUSH ANDRE began awkwardly losing ground and tailed the field throughout to finish in last place.
Race 3 PORTER HIRE DISTANCE MAIDEN - C0 - 457 CAPP MANNERING was very slow away and lost several lengths but made up ground well to finish in 3rd place. EVAMORE I Moore Rule 68 A late scratching due to Kennel cough and stood down for 14 days to and including 28.10.07.
Race 4 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS (B.F.G) - C2 - 375 One of the favourites ROSIEANNA BABY was crowded and bumped in the race to the first corner, settled back and was never able to make up the lost ground and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 5 DECOART PRODUCTS, LEVIN SPRINT - C2 - 375 The favourite ELLA LEE was slowest away and raced well back and was checked on the home turn and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 6 CENTRAL DISTRICTS DISTANCE - HEAT 1 - C2dq - 766 Heat 1 The lure driver was spoken to advisedly regarding the lure distance ahead of the dogs in the early stages of the race. The Stewards were satisfied that while the lure was well ahead of the field on the first corner, the final placings were not affected and permission to pay was given. Permission was given under Rule 64.5 for MAJOR CONQUEST and MICK BAXTER to be withdrawn from the race without penalty after the event was advertised as being over 732 metres when in fact the distance was 766 metres. SPECIAL SAGE was withdrawn due to being in quarantine and further inquiries are being made in relation to this matter. No stand down was ordered at this time. MAJOR CONQUEST S.Clark Rule 64.5 Permission to scratch granted without penalty. FULL TIME R.Adcock Rule 68.10 In a`seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 09.11.07. MICK BAXTER J.McInerney Rule 64.5 Permission to scratch granted without penalty. SPECIAL SAGE J.McInerney Scratched due to being in quarantine and no penalty imposed at this time pending further investigation.
Race 7 OUTBACK TRADING COMPANY LTD - C4 - 375 All clear. FUN AND PROFIT B.Duganzich Rule 64 Suffering from gastroenteritis and stood down for 4 days to and including 18.10.07.
Race 8 CENTRAL DISTRICTS DISTANCE - HEAT 2 - C2dq - 766 Heat 1 The favourite GROOVY EYE was checked and fell on the first corner and TIS GRAND was also checked and lost several lengths and all chance. GROOVY EYE was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with fractures to both forelegs and efforts will be made to save GROOVY EYE. As with race 6, permission was given under Rule 64.5 for THRILLING AFFAIR and UNZIPPED to be withdrawn from the race without penalty due to the race being advertised as being 732 metres instead of 766 metres. THRILLING AFFAIR Freeman & Turnwald Rule 64.5 Permission to scratch granted without penalty. UNZIPPED P & L Henley Rule 64.5 Permission to scratch granted without penalty. HOMEBUSH THORN Gained a start in race 6. GROOVY EYE J & D Fahey Rule 82 Checked and fell and suffered from fractures to both forelegs and stood down for 28 days to and including 11.11.07.
Race 9 TAYLOR ENGINEERING, WANGANUI - C5 - 375 JAMES BEE moved out on the first corner and crowded SUNSET DOLL who lost ground and never recovered and finished well back. HELLO AWESOME B.Cole Rule 68.10 In a seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 10.11.07
Race 10 WIZARD HOME LOAN DISTANCE - C5 - 457 All clear. RAMBUCHAN Ex Wanganui on 12.10.07. Now deceased. RIGHTLY ACCUSED L.Ahern Rule 64.10 In a seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 10.11.07 WHISKY BOY J.McInerney Rule 63.10 Scratched under the 100 kilometre rule.
