Race 1 CAROL'S TABS SPRINT - C4 - 318 DYNAMIC KEROMA was slow to jump from the outside box but improved around the field to finish on for third. Around the bend HOT DOC was tightened coming back on BRONX APPEAL both losing ground to finish at the rear.
Race 2 PAT'S GARAGE SPRINT - C0 - 318 TO THE MAX ran outwards after jumping from the inside box checking SMART TART and WAIKIKA PIRATE before tangling with EMILY BREEZE around the bend. These dogs lost all chance filling the last four placings. MAGULLYSPRIDE who was handy throughout and finished third was subject to check with no injury detected. THRILLING BETH (N Udy) left infraspinatus muscle tear. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 14 September 2007. THUNDER BOY (AR Bowen) scratched under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 3 THORNTON AUCTIONS SPRINT - C1 - 318 DISTINCTLY ROYS lost all chance at the jump missing it by three lengths. Into the bend GOLD FOOT and BIGTIME ANGEL came together resulting in MISDAMENA checking outwards onto AGENT VICKI. These two recovered well to fill the minor placings. GOLD FOOT and BIGTIME ANGEL finished at the rear with DISTINCTLY ROYS. BIGTIME ANGEL was subject to a veterinary check which revealed a lacerated left fore foot with a 10 day stand down recommended. ROSETTA (A Cleaver) was a late scratching at kennelling after having digested chocolate inadvertently. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 6 September 2007. BIGTIME ANGEL (GN Pomeroy) left fore laceration. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including11 September 2007.
Race 4 GREYHOUND CONFERENCE & FUNCTION CENTRE SPRINT - C5 - 318 The favourite STAR CONQUEST had no Australian race form published in the racebook. A copy of his Australian form was taken from an Australian website and displayed in prominent positions on course with a copy supplied to commentator P.Earley. SUISSA drifted to last after the jump. SURE TED led into the bend before drifting quickly through the field to finish alongside SUISSA who collided with TENNYSON MISS who moved outwards to avoid SURE TED. SURE TED was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed right gracilus tear with a 30 day stand down recommended. SURE TED (DD Schofield) right gracilus tear. Rule 82.1. 30 days up to and including 1 October 2007.
Race 5 $50,000 PICK 6 SPRINT - C1 - 318 EMMA HONCHO, NIGHT NUGGET and RICONIAK came together into the bend losing ground to finish at the rear. SERGEANT SCREAM (G calverley) left hock pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 20 September 2007.
Race 6 PELORUS TRUST STAKES - C2/3 - 527 THRILLING ROCCO and REMO BLASTER tangled around the first bend and into the back straight losing ground to settle at the rear. Both finished near the rear.
Race 7 HAPPY FATHERS DAY BEN CRAIK - C2/3 - 318 NUTTY SQUIRREL pushed up along the rail into the bend tightening the favourite CAWBOURNE BOBBY and BLACK ELLY on his outer. These two came back on TRASIT and MOCHACCINO who also lost ground. All four finished at the rear.
Race 8 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS STAKES - C4/5 - 527 SLINGBACK was tightened between ANOTHER PRIDE and MY CHARLSTON into the first bend coming back on CORUBA RUSH and CUPLA SHILLINGS who lost ground. CORUBA RUSH ran on late for fourth with the other two finishing at the rear. WARNIE (SP Clark) stood down Wanganui GRC meeting on 31 August 2007. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 4 September 2007.
Race 9 OXYSHOT NZ LTD SPRINT FEATURE - C5 - 318 NEW CLEAR POWER was checked into the bend drifting quickly to last and never improving.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL 6 PACK STAKES - C1/2 - 527 NO ILLUSIONS was tightened into the back straight losing ground to settle a clear last before improving across the top to finish on for third. The favourite THRILLING SNOW was buffetted between dogs into the back straight and again across the top, drifting out in the run home to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed THRILLING SNOW to have cramped with no stand down recommended. GHOST NUGGET (JR Udy) was a late scratching at 8.50am when found to be in season. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 29 September 2007.
