Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Trainer K Sutch-Jones expressed concern about starting boxes that were placed on the outside of the track just after the finishing line where the club intends to investigate a new starting point. After consultation with the club committee it was agreed that the boxes did not constitute a danger as they were after the line at a stage where the greyhounds were starting on a bend.
Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer DD Schofield was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when WINSOME STATE weighed in at 35.9 kgs which was 1.1 kgs under its last race weight on 9 August 2007.

Race 2 | SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLL DASH - C2 - 375 | THRILLING JASPER, MAXINE'S BEAUTY and BIG ARCHIE were all tightened soon after the jump settling at the rear. On the home bend BLUE DENIM checked outwards off the heels of MISS MACSTEELE losing ground to finish sixth. TOGETHERNESS (H&L Laagland) sore shoulder. Race 3 | COGSWELL SURVEYS LTD SPRINT - C4 - 375 | DYNAMIC KERONA ran wide around the home turn losing ground. He finished sixth. THRILLING GERT (K Walsh) sprained right intraspinatus. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 28 August 2007. |
Race 4 | MITRE 10 CAMBRIDGE STAKES - C1 - 457 | All clear. NIGHT ALERT (SL Ross) sprained right quadriceps muscle. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 26 August 2007. |
Race 5 | PERRY AGGREGATES LTD DASH - C2/3 - 375 | The boxes failed to open at the first attempt due to a mechanical fault. As a result the dogs were all taken out of the boxes and checked by the veterinary surgeon. The dogs were all passed fit to race. The club advised that these boxes had been checked on the morning of the races and will again be checked prior to next week's meeting. LILY LONGLEGS ran wide into the bend losing ground and finishing well back. ASHBOURNE FALCON was observed to look around twice in the home straight. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. As a result under Rule 80.1.b. ASHBOURNE FALCON was stood down for twenty eight days and is required to complete a satisfactory trial. SPRING BUNDY (W Steele) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 31 August 2007. ASHBOURNE FALCON (M McFarlane) stood down for 28 days up to and including 16 September 2007 under Rule 80.1.b. and is required to undertake a satisfactory trial. |
Race 6 | PATHWAYS TO N Z STAKES - C3 - 457 | THRILLING KEA was a clear second until the bend when it eased and went to the outside drifting back and finishing last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. As a result under Rule 80.1.b. THRILLING KEA was stood down for twenty eight days and is required to complete a satisfactory trial. HOT DICKADEE (W Steele) water diabetes. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 25 August 2007. THRILLING KEA (GA Lawrence) stood down for 28 days up to and including 16 September 2007 under Rule 80.1.b. and is required to undertake a satisfactory trial. |
Race 7 | ANGUS WRIGHT MEMORIAL INTER ISLAND CHALLENGE - INV - 457 | THRILLING LUCY was dragged down from behind into the bend losing five lengths. Her effort to get up for third was meritorius. PADDY FLYIN' was badly checked on the turn and soon afterwards ran outwards tangling with an improving WINSOME SHOW. These dogs both finished well back. |
Race 8 | THE MOUNT TURF BAR & TAB DASH - C4/5 - 375 | EXPRESS SOLDIER received a terminal check in the rush to the bend and lost its chance finishing last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. RIALTO MISSION was also inconvenienced in this incident being relegated to last but made ground well to finish third. THRILLING HUBBA (GR Farrell) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 26 August 2007. |
Race 9 | LOWE, SCHOLLUM, JONES LTD STAKES - C4 - 457 | KAKAMA and UNZIPPED were both slow to jump. KAKAMA ran wide into the straight losing more ground and finishing well back with UNZIPPED making up a lot of ground along the inside to finish a close fourth. ANOTHER PRIDE (SC Mann) was a late scratching at the kennels when his leg got caught and he suffered wrist and elbow pain. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 27 August 2007. |
Race 10 | CAMBRIDGE TAB STAKES - C5 - 457 | FANCY CHARM dropped away on the bend to finish a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed a severe dose of cramp with no stand down recommended. |
