Judicial report: Weather: Fine RD Blackburn was fined $50.00 under Rule 69.11 when ANNELIESE, a starter in Race 8 weighed in 1.3kgs under her last race start weight.
RD Blackburn was charged with a breach of Rules 68.1,68.2 and 68.7 when she failed to present TORQUE TRENDY at kennelling for Race 2. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250.00 with TORQUE TRENDY stood down for a period of 14 days up to and including 3 September 2007.
A charge under Rule 88.1.o was preferred against J McCook arising out of an incident at Addington on 12 June 2007. He pleaded guilty to the charge and after hearing evidence from McCook the Adjudicating Steward adjourned the matter to reconvene on 28 August 2007 for penalty.

They lost all chance filling the last three placings. ATOZEE (PJ Norris) split second fore toe nail. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 29 August 2007. TORQUE TRENDY (RD Blackburn) was a late scratching in accordance with Rule 68.7. when the dog was not presented to race. 14 days up to and including 3 September 2007. MULBERRY TRICK (KJ Cassisy) starter in Race 3. |
Race 3 | ADDINGTON FUNCTION CENTRE SPRINT - C1 - 295 | IS A HAND was tightened by the winner POWERFAST BORIS into the bend, checking backwards and being struck by CLAN CRUSADER both losing all chance. A trailing ELLE VOLI was also checked before running wide on the track. These three finished at the rear. |
Race 4 | WWW.CHRISTCHURCHGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ STAKES - C0 - 520 | HOMEBUSH BOND was slow to jump from the outside box. Into the first bend CATCH A DIVA, WHATA HOON and HOMEBUSH BOND came together when racing at the rear. Into the back straight ROAMING FOR GOLD who ran outwards after jumping tangled with HOMEBUSH BOND for a number of strides. WHATA HOON ran on for fourth with the other three finishing at the rear. |
Race 5 | EXCELTIOR SPORTS BAR & TAB SPRINT - C0 - 295 | McMANNUS was slow to jump settling last. Into the bend BOY GENIUS and ELY BRAND tangled losing ground forcing an improving McMANUS wide on the track. Turning for home ELY BRAND ran outwards and tangled with McMANNUS when racing at the rear of the field. After the winning post BOY GENIUS collided with TOYA falling as a result. A post race veterinary check on BOY GENIUS revealed no injury. |
Race 6 | NUTRI-ZING DASH - C0 - 295 | From the jump AMREET pushed across to the rail checking the running of BE POSITIVE and BORACIC LINT. Shortly after BORACIC LINT ran out wide and came into contact with NEMO BRAND severely checking that dog. BE POSITIVE and BORACIC LINT ran out very wide on the turn and both finished at the rear of the field. |
Race 7 | INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD DASH - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH VEEJAY and CLAN MCINERNEY drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the bend CLAN MCINERNEY faultered drifting out to finish a long last. A post race veterinary check revealedmild soreness with no stand down recommended. The connections advised that the dog would be turned out for a spell. The favourite ZETA JONES and HOMEBUSH LARKIN collided into the bend both losing ground. ZETA JONES recovered well running on along the rail to finish third with HOMEBUSH LARKIN finishing midfield. |
Race 8 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER SPRINT - C0 - 295 | FACE OFF drifted to last after the jump. Into the bend GOLD QUIZ struck ELSIE BRAND both losing ground. Soon after an improving FACE OFF checked out off BONDI BRINDI and then off GOLD QUIZ running wide on the track to finish at the rear with GOLD QUIZ. BONDI BRINDI finished strongly in the straight to get up and win. A post race veterinary check on FACE OFF revealed no injury. |
Race 9 | BARRIE GURDLER SAND SUPPLIES DASH - C1 - 295 | Shortly after the jump BERT BADGER ran outwards and collided with CLAN PHOENIX and TWO CLOUDS. While CLAN PHOENIX recovered to run on for 3rd the other two dogs ran wide on the turn and tailed off at the rear. RAMAHANA ROSIE (M Robinson) right hock pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 2 September 2007. BOTOX BARBIE (MJ Flipp) right hind fifth toenail broken. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Race 10 | GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING SPRINT - C0 - 295 | DAPTO GIRL ran in after the jump checking MAJIMBA. Soon after WHITE SPARTAN ran inwards and collided with CALLING COLLECT who sustained a check. Into the bend WHITE SPARTAN and MAJIMBA collided both losing ground to finish at the rear. |
Race 11 | TUESDAY PLACE PICK STAKES - C2 - 520 | A Hart and K Taylor, trainers of STATE ELECTION made an application under Rule 82.5 after the dog had been stood down under Rule 68.26 at Otago on 16 August 2007. STATE ELECTION was examined on 18 August 2007 by approved veterinarian DM Matheson, with no trace of injury detected. In accordance with Rule 82.6, the restriction was cancelled. TRENDY OPAWA was badly checked by STATE ELECTION into the first bend settling last, eventually finishing seventh. He was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed no injury. STATE ELECTION who was handy early drifted out to finish last. A veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. FIFI THE GENIUS (J&D Fahey) mild sprain right hock. Dog presented. Race 12 | SBS BANKING SPRINT - C3 - 295 | Into the turn BELLY GIRL was squeezed up between CLAN MISTY and COCONUT ICE, lost ground and tailed off at the rear. BELLY GIRL came back on HEEZ BACK IN and THRILLING FURY, with WALS WOICE running wide to avoid the incident. WALS WOICE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a split left hind toenail with a 10 day stand down recommended. WALS WOICE (Hart/Taylor) split left hind outside toenail. Race 13 | SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE DASH - C2 - 295 | UTTER MADNESS who led into the bend ran outwards checking HOMER HAND, HOMEBUSH JENNA and IN YOUR FACE before moving inwards and colliding with CHILE DAN. That impact then forced UTTER MADNESS out onto IN YOUR FACE, with both losing ground. HOMER HAND and HOMEBUSH JENNA recovered to finish first and second with the others well back. |
Race 14 | GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND STAKES - C1 - 520 | SABA JEWEL missed the jump by five lengths settling a clear last. He ran on throughout the race finishing strongly in the straight for third. Around the first bend ROBTITLE and NIKOS PORSCHE came together with NIKOS PORSCHE forced outwards colliding with WE LOVE PRINCESS. ROBTITLE ran on for fourth, the other two finishing at the rear. RUBIX BALE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed left hind sesamoid pain with a 10 day stand down recommended. Race 15 | KOLORFUL KANVAS SPRINT - C4 - 295 | Into the turn KNOW GOOD crossed over to the rail and collided with HOMEBUSH BUZZ which went back on top of MR FUGLES, with both these dogs finishing a long last. KIM'S WHISKY and HOMEBUSH FITZY fell heavily at the lure and were subject to a post race veterinary checks revealed nothing amiss. KNOW GOOD was also subject to veterinary examination which revealed a left hock sprain with a 14 day stand down recommended. KNOW GOOD (GA Cleeve)M left hock sprain. Race 16 | WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB STAKES - C1 - 520 | HOMEBUSH ABEL, HONCHO and JACKPOT JACK were checked in the run to the first bend losing all chance. They filled the last three placings. |
Race 17 | APACHE LODGE DASH - C4 - 295 | The favourite was slow from the outside box but recovered to run around the field to finish strongly in the straight to win. TITANIC, ULTIMATE BURST and SMART WINK tangled losing ground. TITANIC finished on for fifth with the other two at the rear. HOMEBUSH WHO (JT McInerney) lacerated right fore web. Dog presented. Race 18 | MURRAY @ REMAX PH 033715005 DASH - C5 - 295 | UPBEAT and VULCAN EARL were slow to jump settling at the rear. Into the bend ZIGGY WAR CRY and NERVOUS WAVE came together losing ground. These dogs filled the last four placings. The favourite LOCHINVAR LOUIS missed the start by a length before recovering well along the rail into the bend before checking out into the centre of the track to finish fourth.
