Race 1 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS STAKES - C0 - 527 NO ILLUSIONS, THUNDER BOY and RAPID FOOT tangled briefly wide out into the first bend settling well back. Out of the back straight THRILLING JULIET checked off THRILLING CHESS when looking to make ground. All of the above mentioned dogs finished out of the money.
Race 2 TRILLIAN TRUST SPRINT - C1 - 318 HOMEBUSH STELLA came up with the lids losing three lengths and settling last. She ran on well for fourth. DISTINCTLY ROYS received some jostling in the early stages of the race settling towards the rear. LUNAR SANDS was handy to the bend and was then checked by an improving THRILLING RANGER. LUNAR SANDS lost ground to ionish sixth and was also involved in a melee at the lure where she ended up on the inside of the rail. A post race veterinary check revealed a sprained toe with a fourteen day stand down recommended. HOMEBUSH STELLA was also involved in this incident at the lure with a post race veterinary check revealing a laceration to the left carpus with a ten day stand down recommended. ULTRA LESSON (W Steele) scratched at Auckland GRC on 16 August 2007. HOMEBUSH STELLA (DL Annette) laceration to left carpus with sutures required. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 28 August 2007. LUNAR SANDS (GR Farrell) sprained toe. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 1 September 2007.
Race 3 THERMOPEUTIC STAKES - C3/4 - 527 THRILLING DANE was tightened into the first bend and soon after ran outwards checking KAIMAI BELLE and THRILLING GUS with these dogs settling at the rear. THRILLING GUS ran on well late for fifth with the other pair remaining well back.
Race 4 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES FEATURE - C5 - 527 All clear. KEROMA ASSASSIN (DD Schofield) broken nail quick exposed. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 4 days up to and including 20 August 2007.
Race 5 TROPHIES PLUS STAKES - C1/2 - 527 ROMANO REASON was the last to jump and remained well back throughout. TEMPEST LASS checked outwards on the first bend badly hampering CUPLA SCHILLINGS with these dogs losing all chance.
Race 6 LIVESPORTSBAR.COM SPRINT - C1 - 318 NIGHT NUGGET was slow to leave the inside box and remained well back throughout. MUMBLE JUMBLE was checked into the bend when BIGTIME ANGEL crossed from its outside. Both dogs finished well back.
Race 7 REASON FINANCE SPRINT - C3/4 - 318 NUTTY SQUIRREL was slow to jump settling last. He ran on for fifth. RESERVE DECISION ran outwards on the home turn briefl taking the line of TENNYSON MISS. Both dogs straightend quickly and were just beaten by AUDITORS FLAME on the line. NITRO LAD (BDF Craik) sore gracilus. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 14 September 2007.
Race 8 NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES #2 FINAL - RESf - 527 THRILLING FEAR was reluctant to box away prior to this event. Handler Mrs P Sutch-Jones informed the stewards that this was the first time she had boxed the dog and in future the trainer would be boxing him. She was advised that if this reluctance is repeated he will be declared Hard to Box under Rule 72.10. ANDREW THE BRAVE was slow to jump remaining well back throughout. CHARLSTON GHOST was tightened on the first bend losing ground and settling well back where it remained. THRILLING TAZ (N Udy) tensor fascia lata and quadriceps sprains. Veterinary certificate supplied. 28 days up to and including 13 September 2007. THRILLING MOE (K Walsh) bruised and septic toe with antibiotics prescribed. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 19 August 2007. (Note that this dog was withdrawn before the box draw was made.)
Race 9 TERRY RYAN TIMBER SPRINT - C5 - 318 SUISSA and DYNAMIC KEROMA were both slow to jump and tangled into the bend. Both dogs finished well back. TARRAH (NP Green) left quadraceps and hip support strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 7 September 2007.
Race 10 ALAMO BAR & GRILL 6PAK STAKES - C1 - 527 HOME LOAN BLUES was very slow to jump losing five lengths. He made some ground for fifth. QUIET SENSATION was checked on the first bend and ran outwards causing the favourite COOL HEART to lose ground. COOL HEART did well to run into second with QUIET SENSATION dropping away to the rear.
