Judicial report: Weather: Overcast D KINGSTON, the trainer of TURN THE CARD in Race 3 was fined $50.00 under Rule 69.11 when that dog weighed in 1.2kgs over her last race weight.

Race 2 | CANTERBURY OTB ASSN DASH - C4 - 295 | JUST ROCKIN and LIPSLIDE came together into the bend with ADIO ROUTINE being squeezed. These dogs finished near the rear. JUST ROCKIN was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed no injury. |
Race 3 | HOUNDS 4 HOMES PH 033121699 DASH - C1 - 295 | CLAN MCINERNEY, QUICK LAUGH and AINT NO ROYAL were slow to jump. CLAN MCINERNEY and QUICK LAUGH were checked into the bend finishing at the rear with AINT NO ROYAL running on for fourth. OPEN FOR OFFERS who was midfield early drifted out to finish last. |
Race 4 | BILLS BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C0 - 520 | In the back straight TURN THE CARD checked off the hind quarters of GATLIN JEWEL going back on top of GOLD MERIT which in turn forced CLAN SAVIOUR wide. Whilst GATLIN JEWEL ran on fairly for fourth, the other dogs filled the last three placings. |
Race 5 | JET PETS ANIMAL TRANSPORT DASH - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH ABEL checked out off SMART WAY into the first bend losing ground. Approaching the home straight FOUR WAY DEAL moved outwards tightening BEKA'S ROSE and OUTSIDE HOYTS with both being badly checked. These two finished at the rear of the field with FOUR WAY DEAL running on for fourth. |
Race 6 | SHIRLEY TAB SPRINT - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH FLOG, RACEY LACEY and BRIGHT GEORGE tangled in the run to the turn and finished at the rear of the field. In the home straight an improving DENNY JEWEL tangled with HOMEBUSH BREE which checked stride and lost ground to finish third with DENNY JEWEL finishing strongly to win. A post race veterinary check on HOMEBUSH BREE showed no injury was sustained. |
Race 7 | SUPER PETS SPRINT - C1 - 295 | In the run to the turn BERT BADGER was tightened and checked off the rear of CHILE LOPEZ forcing WHATA DILEMA wide. BERT BADGER made ground well in the run home to get up for fourth. |
Race 8 | DAVID EMERSON CONSULTANCY STAKES - C0 - 520 | WHATA HOON was slow to jump and last into the first bend, but made ground along the rails into the back straight and ran on strongly at the end to get up for third to the run away winner GROOVY SHOW. |
Race 9 | EXCEED SPRINT - C0 - 295 | In the run to the turn WILLIE DEE was tightened by GOLD DOT and lost ground to finish in sixth place. Into the turn BLOOMING MABEL crossed over to the rail and checked the running of BYE BYE HELEN which lost ground to finish seventh. ELLE VOLI (MJ Flipp) tail fracture. Dog presented. Race 11 | TUESDAY PLACE PICK STAKES - C1 - 520 | Into the turn HOMEBUSH JENNA pushed outwards causing GROOVY EYE to strike the rear of that dog and fall heavily, taking no further part in the race. HOMEBUSH BIGSHOW tangled with the fallen runner and was pushed out wide and tailed off a long last. GROOVY EYE turned and ran back towards the oncoming field before being caught by the photographer, Dave ROBBIE. A post race veterinary check on GROOVY EYE revealed no injury. |
Race 12 | ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO DASH - C2 - 295 | Into the bend DASH DOT DASH crossed towards the rail tightening CLAN ONYX who was checked as was IN YOUR FACE, HOMEBUSH JADE and HEEZ BACK IN. They lost all chance to fill the last four placings. Turning for home WAKATIPU FLYER who was leading ran wide allowing the favourite KNOW SAY to rail up and win. |
Race 13 | $8 ON COURSE ROAST & REFRESHMENT DASH - C1 - 295 | DANCING FOR GOLD and MISS FINE LINE came together into the bend both losing ground to finish at the rear. Soon after DARK ZEPHYR clipped KNOW BETTER'S hindquarters losing momentum. He finished fourth with KNOW BETTER second. CLAN MARY LOU (HG Cairns) left hind gracilus tear. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 28 days up to and including 1 July 2007. |
Race 14 | MURRAY @ REMAX PH 033715005 STAKES - C4 - 520 | Into the back straight GROOVY AGAIN checked off SYDNEY HAVOC and lost ground to finish in seventh place. On the final turn SYDNEY HAVOC was squeezed up between WAXEYE and FIERY FALCON and lost all chance to tail off and finish last. |
Race 15 | SHULTZ PANEL & PAINT SPRINT - C3 - 295 | In the run to the turn CLAN BLUE clipped the hind quarters of ROYAL FERN and fell heavily, taking no competitive part in the race and tailing off a long last. A post race veterinary check showed no injury. FOUL PLAY (GA Cleeve) stood down at Otago GRC meeting on 1 June 2007. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 7 June 2007. |
Race 16 | SHIRLEY VETERINARY DASH - C2 - 295 | QUANAH shortened stride in the run to the turn when free of interference and tailed off a long last. The dog was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss. |
Race 17 | NZ BREEDERS STAKES SEMI FINAL - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | All clear. GELIGNITE (J&D Fahey) left wrist pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including12 June 2007. |
Race 18 | WILLYWHATATSTUD.COM.SPRINT - C3 - 295 | The dogs for this event were boxed away and there was a delay of 15 seconds from the last dog being boxed and the lids activating. After the lure was set in motion, it activated the starting boxes approximately 7 seconds later. After a review of the race film the race dividends were declared. There were no race incidents to report. Inquiries revealed the lure driver to have not been in position to start the race the moment the all clear was given by the starter after having loaded the dogs away. The lure driver was warned of his obligations to ensure that he was ready to drive the lure upon clearance from the starter. |
Race 19 | RACING AGAIN TUESDAY DASH - C5 - 295 | Around the bend KIM'S WHISKY checked out off LIMITED IMPACT and ZIGGY WAR CRY losing ground to finish last. |
Race 20 | CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C2/3 - 520 | RAGIN CAJUN forced PAUL BAXTER wide around the first bend, both settling well back. PAUL BAXTER finished impressively over the concluding stages to finish second with RAGIN CAJUN towards the rear. TOMAHAWK DOWN (GA Cleeve) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied.
