Race 1 THE PHOENIX SPRINT - C2 - 318 FLAT WHITE received a severe check on the first bend when attempting to improve between the favourite BLACK ELLY and SELKCAHS LEGEND. FLAT WHITE dropped out to a long last. A post race veterinary check on FLAT WHITE revealed a cut pad with a fourteen day stand down recommended. LILY LONGLEGS (K Sutch-Jones) injured toe. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 22 June 2007. FLAT WHITE (CJ Derecourt) cut pad. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 9 June 2007.
Race 2 PELORUS TRUST STAKES - C2/3 - 527 THAT GIRL was tightened into the first bend dopping to the rear and staying there. Hot favourite MICRO BENNY scorched to the lead from an outside draw and cleared out to win in class record time.
Race 3 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS SPRINT - C4 - 318 TIME OVER BOOTS was checked into the first bend losing ground and finishing at the rear. NUTTY SQUIRREL checked off HOT DOC on the bend losing a couple of lengths. He switched to the rails in the straight and ran home well for third.
Race 4 LIVESPORTSBAR.COM SPRINT - C2/3 - 318 IDOLISE ME was squeezed soon after the jump and lost ground settling at the rear and never improving. Into the bend ANDWYN was crossed and checked by the eventual winner BIGTIME SNOWIE and soon after received another check from NANCY'S WISH which was racing on its outside. ANDWYN lost ground and remained well back. Following the race ORIGIN TEDDY was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a minor spike wound with a five day stand down recommended. RIALTO MISSION (BDF Craik) right triceps tear. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 4 June 2007. ORIGIN TEDDY (G Calverley) minor spike wound. Rule 82.1. 5 days up to and including 31 May 2007.
Race 5 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DUKE OF EDINBURGH SILVER COLLAR - HEAT 1 - C2dq - 779 Heat 1 BOATSWAIN WALLY came off the rails on the first turn checking HOMEBUSH THORN pushing it very wide losing ground. BOATSWAIN WALLY ran on late for a distant third with HOMEBUSH THORN remaining well back throughout.
Race 6 THORNTON AUCTIONS AUCKLAND OAKS FINAL - R/Af - 527 MATILDA and UNZIPPED tangled soon after the jump with both dogs losing ground and never recovering.
Race 7 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DUKE OF EDINBURGH SILVER COLLAR - HEAT 2 - C2dq - 779 Heat 1 COCKNY CODE was slow to jump settling last. He made ground steadily for fourth. Eventual winner CAWBOURNE BARON came off the fence into the first bend checking ROMAN HOME with OWNEY JOE TARR receiving backwash and dropping to the rear where he stayed. MOCHACCINO and ROMAN HOME jostled for some time around the first bend as MOCHACCINO attempted to get off the rails. MOCHACCINO lost ground in this incident and finished towards the rear. Shortly after the start LADYLIKE TOKEN faltered and did not complete the race. A post race veterinary check revealed an injured wrist with a twenty eight day stand down recommended. LADYLIKE TOKEN (L Nixon) injured wrist. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 23 June 2007.
Race 8 PATS GARAGE STAKES - C1 - 527 COMMON ERROR was squeezed to the rear early as BIGTIME DANCER crossed quickly from its outside. The two favourites RIALTO ROSIE and SURF IT UP both lost their chances when BIGTIME DANCER checked outwards into the first bend costing them valuable ground. ROMANO REASON (TA Green) starter in Race 9. RICONIAK (LP Joyce) sprained toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 4 June 2007.
Race 9 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DUKE OF EDINBURGH SILVER COLLAR - HEAT 3 - C2dq - 779 Heat 1 All clear. JIN JU (JR Goode) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 21 June 2007.
Race 10 THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL 6PAK STAKES - C4/5 - 527 ROMAN CASTLE was slow to jump settling at the rear. He stormed home for his second. LAGOON PHOENIX ran outwards on to JUST WINSOME at the first bend with JUST WINSOME losing ground and finishing at the rear. LAGOON PHOENIX ran home well when in the clear to finish third. THRILLING PEARL (K Walsh) stood down at Wellington GRC on 23 May 2007. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 29 May 2007.
