Race 1 CATERING PROFESSIONALS SPRINT - C0 - 318 That Bloke, Eddie Tomcat and Strike Gold were the slowest to begin. General tightening after 20 mtrs resulted in checks to Eddie Tomcat, Auditors Flame, That Bloke and Glycos Gift. Entering the first turn Auditors Flame ran inwards and contacted the running rail briefly. Agent Vicki changed ground outwards nearing the home turn when running 4th and lost momentum for a stride.
Race 2 WWW.AGRC.CO.NZ STAKES - C0 - 527 This race was rescheduled 2 minutes later than the advertised time at the request of TAB Trackside. Nochipin Me, Electrostatic and Mangonui Miss were the slowest to begin. Electrostatic moved inwards and Gatlin Ghost outwards at the start causing tightening and severe checks to themselves, Nochipin Me and Blue Twirl. Entering the first turn Blue Twirl, Gatlin Ghost and Nochipin Me came together with all being checked. Lady Dot changed ground outwards on the first turn across the heels of Mangonui Miss and severely checked itself in the process. Black Logo and Electrostatic came together on the home turn with both being checked slightly.
Race 3 THORNTON AUCTIONS STAKES - C2 - 527 Take The Micky, Charlston Zoom and Ray Reeb were the slowest to begin. Take The Micky and Sweet Teddy came together at the start with both being checked slightly. Take The Micky endeavoured to move outwards off the rail on the first turn and severely checked itself, Mrs Goodley, Charlston Zoom and Sweet Teddy in the process. A post race veterinary examination of Tempest Lass detected an injury requiring a 10 day stand down from racing. Tempest Lass (J.A.Cleaver). Right wrist carpus strain. Rule 82.1. 10 days to and including 27.03.07.
Race 4 CAROL'S TABS' SPRINT - C1 - 318 Distinctly Roys was the slowest to begin. Hunkaspunk jumped awkwardly at the start. Entering the first turn Hunkapsunk and Black Elly came together with Black Elly being severely checked and losing ground. Forever Running (G.J.Noakes). Late scratching. Diarrhea. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 27.03.07.
Race 5 PUTT AROUND THE ROCKS SPRINT - C3 - 318 Kapai Rita was the slowest to begin. Lily Longlegs and Nutty Squirrel came together at the start with both being checked slightly. Nearing the first turn Charlston Chill and Nutty Squirrel came together with Nutty Squirrel then moving to the rail and checking Charlston Chill. Holah A Hypo changed ground outwards in the home straight and lost a length at a crucial stage before rallying well for 3rd placing.
Race 6 JACK'S WHOLESALE MEATS STAKES - C1 - 527 Bold Jenni reared as the boxes opened and lost several lengths. Kaimai Belle changed ground outwards on the first turn and inconvenienced Bold Jenni. Thrilling Patsy ran outwards on the home turn and lost 2 lengths when running 3rd before running on strongly for 2nd placing. Black Limousine and Surf It Up came together for a stride after entering the home straight with both being checked slightly. Trendy Time (J.R.Udy). Late scratching. Cut right front toe. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 3 days to and including 20.03.07.
Race 7 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS SPRINT - C4 - 318 Suissa and Deadlock were marginally slow to begin. Big Archie and Deadlock came together after 30 mtrs with both being checked. Nearing the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Full Of Flare, Comical Ali, Hot Doc, Suissa and Bailed Out. In a chain reaction from this interference Full Of Flare moved outwards into the path of Bailed Out which caused further tightening by also moving outwards. Big Archie was sandwiched and twisted between Bailed Out and Deadlock and fell heavily with Deadlock's chances also being extinguished in this incident. A post race veterinary examination of Big Archie detected an injury requiring 10 day stand down from racing. Big Archie (K.Sutch-Jones). Pain left hip extension and grazes. Rule 82.1. 10 days to and including 27.03.07.
Race 8 'WE RACE SUNDAY 25TH MARCH' SPRINT - C2 - 318 General tightening after 20 mtrs resulted in checks to all runners with the exception of Fancy Lee (winner) and Got Hope. Nearing the first turn jostling caused severe checks to Bullet Blue, Jacki Flex, Marble Nugget and Ghost Nugget.
Race 9 ALAMO BAR & GRILL STAKES - C3/4 - 527 Charlston State, Winsome Gypsy and Thrilling Dane were the slowest to begin. Thrilling Hubba ran wide on the first bend and carted Thrilling Dane with it. Nearing the end of the back straight Zambora Kezman when vying for 2nd placing with Miss Gray and Charlston State, faltered and pulled up. An immediate veterinary examination detected injury necessitating euthanasia. A post race veterinary examination of Thrilling Hubba detected an injury requiring a 21 day stand down from racing. Zambora Kezman (D.van Meeuwen). Fractured right front humerus. Rule 82.1. Euthanased. Thrilling Hubba (G.R.Farrell). Fractured tail. Rule 82.1. 21 days to and including 07.04.07.
