Race 1 METEOR PRINTERS - C1 - 305 The box lids failed to open automatically and the dogs were removed from the boxes and it was then established that there was a power failure to the boxes. As a result the dogs were placed back into position and the lids were opened manually and the race started 3 minutes late. The automatic trip had been checked prior to the race and was found to be working at that time but there was reported to be power failures at other parts of the course at the same time. RUN ROSIE RUN was checked soon after the start, dropped out to last and stayed there to the finish. THRILLING CARLOS was checked on the bend and dropped back to finish in 2nd last place. SPICE AGE A & S Frost Rule 64.10 In a seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 30.03.07.
Race 2 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C0 - 305 This race was put back by 4 minutes due to the earlier problem. BLACK CORTINA was very slow away and trailed the field throughout. LIGHTS OFF was tightened and checked on the first corner when racing between EDDIE TOMCAT and NATURE RULES and this would have affected her chance of a closer placing than 5th.
Race 3 SPICERS PAPER - C1 - 305 This race started 2 minutes late at the T.A.B. request. PAPAKA began awkwardly and settled last before making up ground to finish in 4th place. HOLLABACK GURL and THRILLING CARA collided soon after the start and settled well back. OUR DELTA and NIAGARA CRESENT disputed the lead to the first corner but then collided and dropped back to the rear and filled the last two positions at the finish. AMBEROSE R.Casey Rule 64 Suffering from a sesamoid sprain and stood down for 14 days to and including 16.03.07.
Race 4 GUTHRIE BOWRON WANGANUI - C0 - 305 ROCKET RISING, GEORGIE MOHAN and LADY DOT collided on the first corner, dropped out to the rear and stayed there to the finish. TIMMY VINE checked off the heels of AGENT VICKI on the home turn and lost ground.
Race 5 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C1/2 - 520 All clear. THRILLING SYD Ex Auckland on 25.02.07.
Race 6 MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C1 - 305 The Favourite BIGTIME ENCORE raced onto the heels of TUAMORE on the first corner and dropped back onto BENTLEY BEAU and they lost all chance. WOFTAMS TIP ran wide on the bend and checked INFECTIOUS AZZ and they lost ground and finished in the last two places. THRILLING BECKY K.Walsh Rule 64 Suffering from a tricep muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 15.03.07
Race 7 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C2 - 520 THRILLING MYNA was the last away and trailed the field for most of the race and finished in 2nd last place. The winner SPARKLING WAVES turned its head and moved in on the 2nd dog MARTY HALL on the home turn. SPARKLING WAVES was examined by theVet and found to have sore shoulder and chest muscles and a 7 day stand down was ordered. As a result and after referring to Rule 80.3, SPARKLING WAVE was.stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 a i for marring another runner and is required to trial under Rule 81.1. COLOUR WASH Ex Manawatu on 01.03.07 SPARKLING WAVES R.Casey Rule 80.1 a i Turned its head and marred another runner and stood down for 28 days to and including 02.04.07. Required to Trial under Rule 81.1
Race 8 WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C2 - 305 RUIZ ROYALE was checked soon after the start, lost several lengths and followed the field for the remainder of the race.
Race 9 RUSH HIRE - C3/4 - 305 FOUR SQUARE and THRILLING MARK were very slow to begin and lost all chance of a placing.
Race 10 THE RADIO WORKS - C3 - 520 JUST A DRIP was very slow away and raced well back throughout. CENTRAL RAIDER and BIGTIME LISA collided on the first corner and lost ground. CENTRAL RAIDER recovered to finish 4th but BIGTIME LISA finished in last place and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 11 WANGANUI SECURITY - C5 - 305 THRILLING MIKE, JAMES BEE, NOWHERE TO RUN and the favourite BIGTIME EXPLORER all suffered checks on the first corner, lost ground and finished in the last four places. CRUZMORE Ex Manawatu on 01.03.07.
Race 12 RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ - C4/5 - 520 AULD SON was away well and handy to the first corner but then ran very wide forcing THRILLING NEWTON wide on the track and they finished well back. AULD SON was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. THRILLING JEN A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from bruising to a gracilus, was presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 10.03.07.
Race 13 WANGANUI SUIT HIRE - C3/4 - 305 NGAWI BAY and VINNYMORE were handy to the first corner but were checked and dropped back causing checks to THRILLING SNOOP, BIGTIME RISK and BRITE OPAWA who all lost ground. BIGTIME RISK suffered a wrist injury and was stood down for 21 days. BIGTIME RISK C.Gough Rule 82 Suffered a wrist injury and stood down for 21 days to and including 26.03.07.
Race 14 KEENAN CONCRETE SIX PACK - C5 - 305 CRYSTAL HISTORY was checked from the start, ran wide on the track and covered extra and finished in last place. THRILLING FLIRT A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from a torn neck muscle and stood down for 7 days to and including 10.03.07. BIGTIME JULIE T.McCracken Rule 64.10 In a seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 01.04.07.
