Palmerston North Greyhound Racing Club

Manawatu Raceway ON THURSDAY 15 Feb 2007

Weather:
Track: Fast Fast
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: fine Trainer (P C Knights) was fined $50.00 under rule 69.11 for producing Homebush Dasher to race in race six on the card at 31.1 kg`s down, 1.1 kg`s from its last start weight of 32.2 kg`s at Manawatu on the 07.02.07.
After the running of race six on the nights programe the stewards called the track curator into discussing the condition of the track going forward into the meeting.
We were concerned that the track was too hard and was may be contributing to some of the injuries and level of interference occuring .
We were mainly concerned about the amount of water that had been put on previous to racing and that the track seemed to be uneven in parts and could have done with more water and maybe rolling before the nights racing.
The Manawatu club president Mr J Gommans and the club track representative advised that they were concerned also at the pre race preparation of the track.
I advised them that they would need to speak with the track curator Mr J Doody before next weeks meeting on the 21.02.07 to see if there can be a bit more maintenance done on the track before then..
Licenced Person( Mr O K Marron) was reminded of his obligations in aquiring permission from the correct channels for any extra dog activities on racedays in the future.
