Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Race 3. Stewards opened an inquiry under Rules 38.1 (b) and (h) in relation to the circumstances surrounding the scratching of Deadly Prince from this race. Mr W.Steele was interviewed and a faxed statement received from Mr A.C.Nightingale. The inquiry has been adjourned in order for Stewards to seek relevant information from GRNZ.

Race 3 was recorded as 2 min 13 sec late starting and Race 7, 2 min 27 sec late starting. Stewards endeavoured to ascertain the reason at the time of each occurrence however the exact reasons remained unclear. Stewards met with the Kennel Officials, Parade Official, Starter and Club Secretary following the last race and determined that operational and manpower issues did exist and had compounded on this occasion due to the short intervals between races. The Club has advised that remedial measures will be taken at the next meeting.

Thrilling Juliet and Lady Dot jostled for several strides prior to the first turn and then when entering the turn Lady Dot moved inwards to the rail and severely checked itself and Thrilling Juliet. Rialto Man (B.D.F.Craik). Gained start in Race 3. |

Nearing the first turn Thrilling Jasper moved inwards and severely checked itself, Dance Judge and Ramrod Reason. Entering the first turn Satsuma and Dance Judge came together with both being checked. Deadly Prince (W.Steele). Stewards inquiry proceeding. |
| Race 4 | TAMAHERE SPRINT - C1 - 375 | Ryans Thunder and Call Me Loyal were the slowest to begin. On Angels Wings was denied racing room on the first turn when between runners and then jostled with Black Elly for several strides around the bend before Black Elly moved to the rail and severely checked Black Elly. Rialto Mission (B.D.F.Craik). Torn front short triangle muscle. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 12.03.07. |
| Race 5 | SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLL STAKES - C1/2 - 457 | Ashbourne Falcon jumped awkwardly, made up ground quickly to be in 2nd position on the bend then battled in the home straight to finish 6th. Entering the first turn Hot Dickadee moved outwards and caused severe checks to Our Freddie and Charlston Zoom. Barramundi Flex (G.N.Pomeroy). Ex AGRC 11.02.07. Remo Blaster (P&L Henley). Left fore limb accessory carpal ligament strain. Rule 64.13. 7 days to and including 20.02.07. |
| Race 6 | TAUWHARE DASH - C1/2 - 375 | Best Place ran outwards on the bend and encouraged Hypo Lomu to take evasive action by running wide also. Entering the home turn Shanti ran outwards off the rail sharply and severely checked Charlston Deal, Hypo Lomu and Best Place which fell. A post race veterinary examination of Best Place detected no injury. |
| Race 7 | T.A.B. PUMP AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C5 - 457 | Winsome State, Lipslide, Warnie and Thrilling Match were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Lipslide and Emulate came together with Lipslide being checked. |
| Race 8 | RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375 | Massachusetts and Dynamic Keroma were the slowest to begin with Dynamic Keroma then drifting to be a clear last early and showed no improvement thereafter. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected an injury requiring a 28 day stand down from racing. Lady Tandia and Full Of Flare came together for a stride at the start. End Zone moved inwards to the rail on the first turn and checked Fancy Bonnie. Dynamic Keroma (B.D.F.Craik). Torn right gracilis muscle. Rule 82.1. 28 days to and including 13.03.07. |
| Race 9 | WAIKATO RACEPIX DASH - C3/4 - 375 | Fox Fire was the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Maxine's Beauty, Fox Fire, Coruba Rush, Stacey's Way and Dreamaqueen. Coruba Rush then raced very wide throughout. Fox Fire moved outwards on the home turn when towards the rear and inconvenienced Dreamaqueen. Suissa (G.N.Pomeroy). Left long head triceps strain. Rule 64.13. 5 days to and including 16.02.07. |
| Race 10 | RACING HERE 22 FEBRUARY @ NOON - C3/4 - 457 | Richfield Reason was the slowest to begin. Victory Chant ran outwards at the start and checked Ultimate Burst and Rothvale Reason. Nearing the first turn Victory Chant continued to move outwards and carted Charlston State and Sea Drifter with it. Ultimate Burst raced very wide from the first turn. |
