Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer G Hamilton was warned as a result of her dog BLUE VIRUS escaping from her vehicle following Race 5. The dog escaped the vehicle following her husband being taken to hospital from the track..

Race 1 ASCOT HOTEL MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C0q - 390 Heat 1 PATRICK RIGHT stood in the traps at the start and missed the jump by several lengths, finishing at the rear of the field.
Race 2 ASCOT HOTEL MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C0q - 390 Heat 1 TWO CLOUDS was slow to jump, was checked in the run to the turn by MAURITIUS and hit the rail, then was hampered for room on the turn and climbed into the rear quarters of MAURITIUS with both dogs finishing at the rear of the field. Also on the turn BLUE VIRUS hit the rail in a tightening field. No injuries were sustained by any of the dogs in these incidents.
Race 3 ADDED ENERGY SPRINT - C1/2 - 390 TIAWANA led to the turn, then ran out wide and was pushed out even wider by WHERES YABREEKS who then marred the running of TIAWANA. Both dogs lost all chance. A charge under Rule 80.1a was laid against WHERES YABREEKS who was stood down for 28 days and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial. WHERES YABREEKS (M.J.Flipp). Rule 80.1a . 28 days up to and including 7 February 2007 and ordered to complete a satisfactory trial.
Race 4 BOUNCE B TABS STAKES - C1/2 - 457 All clear.
Race 5 BEAUREPAIRS VICTORIA AVE - C3/4 - 457 OUR JIGSAW and TIMELY FLIRT came together into the turn and lost ground to finish at the rear of the field. COOL PILGRIM ran wide on the turn and lost several lengths but finished on down the straight to get up for 5th.
Race 6 SGRC DOG KIBBLE DASH - C2 - 390 DISCO FEVER was last to jump improving during the running to finish fifth. BEST TELL BRIAN jumped on terms with the field but faultered into the bend, driting out to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary check revealed a left hind muscle injury with a fourteen day stand down recommended. BEST TELL BRIAN (CJ Keen) soreness. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 24 January 2007.
Race 7 SINGLETON SIGNS STAKES - C2 - 457 PALONE was tightened into the bend coming back on PARADISE ECHO both losing all chance to finish at the rear.
Race 8 WWW.SOUTHLANDGREYHOUNDS.CO.NZ - C3/4 - 390 HOMEBUSH CARLIN was tightened into the bend coming back on KOLA'S WEAPON and SMARK WINK. They lost all chance to finish at the rear. HALCYON HILL and OCTOBER PLACARD ran wide turning for home allowing HALF A PENNY to rail up to win well. The other two filled the minor placings. AFTERNOON DELITE MM Grant) right wrist pain on flexion. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 19 January 2007.
