Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer, K.Walsh was officially warned under Rule 68.6 for being 5 minutes late when kennelling for Race 8.

During routine pre meeting track and equipment checks, Stewards were shown by Club President, P.Henley the adjustments made to the 457 mtr starting boxes in an attempt to eliminate recent malfunctions. No problems were experienced during this meeting.

Race 1 KARAPIRO DISTANCE - C0d - 630 Sable Raeder was the slowest to begin. Jeffies Fella moved outwards slightly on the turn out of the back straight and checked Autumn Angel.
Race 2 RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375 Gentle Lee was the slowest to begin then raced wide throughout finishing 6th. Ivan Evans and Charlston State came together for several strides at the start. Entering the first turn Prince Flex was tightened and severely checked. Ivan Evans ran outwards on the home turn.
Race 3 WAIKATI RACEPIX DASH - C0 - 375 Satsuma jumped awkwardly, lost 3 lengths then made up ground well wide for 4th. Tee Shirt and Our Delta jostled for several strides at the start. Zac Attack and Feng Shui came together for a stride at the start with Zac Attack being checked slightly. Nearing the first turn general tightening resulted in widespread interference and checks of varying degrees to Feng Shui, Zac Attack, Kapai Boof and Our Delta. This interference continued into the first turn with Feng Shui being forced onto the running rail. A veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury. Thrilling Lexus (K.Walsh). Left metatarsal pain. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 07.01.07.
Race 4 CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C2/3 - 457 Major Conquest, Remo Blaster, Hot Dickadee and What Appeal were the slowest to begin. Major Conquest and Remo Blaster came together for a stride after the start with both being checked. Mochaccino and Turbo's Return came together after 40 mtrs with both being checked slightly. Remo Blaster moved inwards to the rail on the first turn and checked Major Conquest which then ran very wide on the home turn. Barramundi Flex (G.N.Pomeroy). Left gluteal muscles strained. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 7 days to and including 04.01.07. Santas Prince ( N.P.Green). Near side shoulder joint injury. No vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 24.01.07.
Race 5 TAB PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C1 - 375 Kapai Rua and Nose The Tune were the slowest to begin. Smart Bart and Overload came together shortly after the start with Overload being checked slightly. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in a severe check to Lily Longlegs and to a lesser extent Overload, Winsome Gypsy and Selkcahs Legend. Lily Longlegs then raced very wide finishing 7th. Smart Bart ran wide on the first turn, remained out there until after straightening for the run home and held ground well to finish 3rd. Call Me Loyal (N.P.Green). Near side stopper pad laceration. No vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 24.01.07.
Race 6 CAMBRIDGE SPRINT - C2 - 375 Best Place and Glenmire came together for a stride at the start with both being checked slightly. San Shin raced wide throughout and finished 5th. Andwyn (S.P.Clark). Seasonal condition. No vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.10. 28 days to and including 23.01.07.(Registration papers to be presented to Stewards for endorsement). Hardern Thirst (B & L Craik).Left back leg sprained hock. No vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 24.01.07.
Race 7 HAPPY NEW YEAR SPRINT - C3/4 - 375 Big Archie was the slowest to begin. Silver Crisis and Mood Swinger came together at the start with Mood Swinger being checked. Rhani Reason and Stately Conquest came together momentarily after straightening for the run to the finish. Maxine's Beauty (D.W.Mathews). ex Waikato GRC 24.12.06.
Race 8 DUAL CODE HERE FRIDAY 5 JANUARY - C4 - 457 Thrilling Tiger and Dynamic Keroma were the slowest to begin. In Defence and Thrilling Neo jostled for several strides entering the first turn. Dynamic Keroma ran very wide on the home turn, lost ground then rallied well to finish a close 2nd. Bailed Out (S.P.Clark). Sprained toe outside off front. No vet certificate supplied.
