Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Trainer, D.Fahey was Officially Warned by Stewards under Rule 68.6 for being 5 minutes late for kennelling.

Race 2. Smokey Eyes (D.M.Smith) when entering the first turn was observed to drift back through the field when handy for no apparent reason and then moved outwards on the home turn and come together with Ramrod Reason. Half way down the home straight Smokey Eyes lost focus, momentum and proceeded to severely inconvenience Ramrod Reason. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury. Stewards discussed the performance with the Trainer who accepted a breach of Rule 80.1 (b). A 3 month suspension was imposed under Rule 80.1 (ii) - second offence. A Satisfactory Trial is also required in conjunction with this suspension rule.

Race 2 | WAIKATO RACE PIX DASH - C0 - 375 | Homebush Twistie and Zensu (winner) were the slowest to begin. Smokey Toes drifted to the rear entering the first turn then came together with Ramrod Reason on the home turn for several strides. Half way down the home straight Smokey Toes was observed to lose focus, momentum and severely inconvenience Ramrod Reason. A post race veterinary examination of Smokey Toes detected no injury (refer Judicial). Smokey Toes (D.M.Smith). No injury. Rule 80.1(b) (including Satisfactory Trial). Second offence. 3 months suspension up to and including 14.03.07. |
Race 3 | MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 | There was no head on coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside. Storm Safari changed ground outwards on the first turn when running 2nd, lost several lengths then raced very wide throughout finishing last. Miss Summer Rose and Richmond Bob were checked on the first turn. Homebush Harriet ran inwards to the rail on the first turn and checked Another Swap. |
Race 4 | SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLL STAKES - C1 - 457 | Baxter's Boy was very slow to begin. Seilatan and Porchia Bale came together at the start with both being checked slightly. Entering the first turn Baxter's Boy and Elite Paradise came together with both being checked slightly. Entering the first turn Porchia Bale moved inwards and severely checked itself and Seilatan. Seilatan clipped the heels of Elite Paradise on the home turn and was checked slightly. |
Race 5 | GRAND VIEW SPORTS BAR DASH - C1 - 375 | Smart Bart raced very wide throughout and faded slightly in the home straight for 4th. Razzey (favourite) was tightened and checked at the start and when entering the first turn clipped the heels of Overload resulting in another check and never improved thereafter finishing 6th. A post race veterinary examination of Smart Bart detected an injury requiring a 7 day stand down from racing. Smart Bart (M.J.Lozell). Grazed hind main pads. Rule 82.1. 7 days to and including 20.12.06. |
Race 6 | T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C3 - 457 | Not Waiting, Hot Dickadee, Cecilia Henry were the slowest to begin. Not Waiting changed ground outwards and checked itself on the home turn when at the rear of the field. |
Race 7 | DECEMBER DASH - C3/4 - 375 | Gentle Lee (winner) was slightly slow to begin then ran home wide and strongly in the home straight. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in checks to Hypo Lomu, Joebees Jet and Massachusetts. Maxine's Beauty ran outwards on the bend and carted Joebees Jet and Hypo Lomu wide with it. Joebees Jet ran very wide on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of Hypo Lomu detected an injury requiring a 21 day stand down from racing. Hypo Lomu (W.Steele). Split webbing left fore lateral foot. Rule 82.1. 21 days to and including 03.01.07. |
Race 8 | FOND FOODS WAIKATO CUP - INV - 457 | Micki, Johnny, Winsome State and Winsome Gem were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Micki moved inwards and severely checked Whisky Boy which rebounded outwards causing widespread interference and severe checks to all runners with the exception of Winsome Show (winner) and Micki (2nd). |
Race 9 | RACEWAY FEATURE SPRINT - C5 - 375 | Vulcan Earl was the slowest to begin. Ivan Evans ran outwards and Hypoumunga inwards at the start resulting in tightening and severe checks to all runners with the exception of Who Nose (winner) and Maxi The Taxi (2nd). Hypoumunga and Ivan Evans jostled for several strides entering the first turn with both being checked. |
Race 10 | DUAL CODE HERE XMAS EVE @ NOON - C4 - 457 | Rowland Reason and Thrilling Tiger were slightly slow to begin. Rowland Reason moved wide on the bend and carted Augusta Allen with it. Rhani Reason moved outwards nearing the home turn and came together with Zambora Kezman momentarily. |
