Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer PJ Norris was warned as a result of breaching Rule 68.2 when his two dogs, HOMEBUSH LARKIN and ATOZEE were presented late for kennelling. He stated that he is a night-shift worker and on this occasion his alarm clock malfunctioned.
Trainer JM Jopson was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when MUPPET MAN weighed in 1.2 kgs under its last race weight.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES HEAT 1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 BAXTER'S BOY came up with the lids and settled last. HIDDEN SECRETS ran outwards soon after the jump taking DARK ZEPHYR wider on the track. Into the first bend TURBO'S RETURN checked off an improving DARK ZEPHYR with BAXTER'S BOY and HIDDEN SECRETS receiving severe checks and losing all chance.
Race 2 FASHION THIEF @ STUD DASH HEAT 1 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 SMART WAY was quickly away and was leading into the first bend until NURSE RUBY dragged it down from behind. Both dogs dropped back as a result with HOMEBUSH CLAN being checked as a result. A post race veterinary check on SMART WAY revealed no injury.
Race 3 PATRICK AUTO TRIMMERS SPRINT - C0 - 295 BRIGHT GEORGE ran inwards into the bend checking GOLD DOT with KAYJAY NIXS also losing ground in this incident. All three dogs finished at the rear. BOTOX BARBIE (MJ Flipp) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 25 December 2006. HEEZA SPY (BR Healey) scratched under Rule 63.10. No penalty.
Race 4 SCHULTZ PANEL & PAINT STAKES HEAT 2 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 MCCRACKENS BOY had to ease shortly after the jump when racing in tight quarters. ULTIMATE BURST ran outwards into the first bend severely checking CLAN BAILEY and MCCRACKENS BOY. These dogs all lost ground and tailed the field home.
Race 5 HOUNDS 4 HOMES PH 03 312 1699 DASH - C0 - 295 WHIPOCHET went up with the lids losing ground and also ran very wide around the bend. This dog made ground well in the straight to finish fourth. Into the bend EMMAS A ROCKET and FIVE SPEED AUTO tangled with EMMAS A ROCKET falling. Both dogs were subject to post race veterinary checks with EMMAS A ROCKET sustaining a right shoulder injury with a seven day stand down recommended. No injury was found with FIVE SPEED AUTO. EMMAS A ROCKET (MJ Flipp) sore right shoulder. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 4 December 2006.
Race 6 INVIEW PRINT DASH HEAT 2 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 HOMEBUSH ROWAN and the two favourites FLAT WHITE and CRACKER HAND all lost their chances on the first bend when general tightening from outside dogs crossing to the fence. They filled the last three placings. BELLY GIRL (JE Dunn) diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 4 December 2006. MR JOLES (M & J Hill) exhaustion and tying up. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 28 days up to and including 21 December 2006. IN YOUR FACE (KJ Cassidy) stood down at Otago GRC meeting on 23 November 2006. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 29 November 2006.
Race 7 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY DASH HEAT 3 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 Into the bend SMART WAVE checked off the pacemaking HOMEBUSH JADE ducking outwards on to HOMEBUSH CARLIN. In a chain reaction HOMEBUSH JOCK and HEAPS CLASSY both susatained checks with HEAPS CLASS falling. A post race veterinary check on HEAPS CLASSY revealed no injury.
Race 8 POWER FARMING STAKES HEAT 3 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 CLAN PHOENIX was the last to jump and ran wide in last place throughout the race.
Race 9 BARRON'S SUPPLIES SPRINT - C0 - 295 HOMEBUSH LIZZIE turned in the boxes and emerged some time after the start. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. HOMEBUSH LIZZIE was ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 72.13. ROAMING FOR GOLD was slow away and remained well back throughout. Into the bend WHIPWHOP MISS was checked when colliding with RAMAHANA ROSIE. Both dogs finished well back. STARDOE (WJ Cairns) torn left fore fifth toenail. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 7 December 2006. HOMEBUSH LIZZIE (JT McInerney) satisfactory trial to be undertaken under Rule 72.13.
Race 10 CONTAINERMAN DASH HEAT 4 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 DASH DOT DASH was slow from the inside trap but made good ground to finish fourth. NO VICES ran out of room racing to the bend and switched very wide losing ground and finishing last. HEZA BOOF (JE Dunn) diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 4 December 2006. HOMEBUSH DUNCAN (JT McInerney) open wound and swelling left hind leg. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 6 December 2006.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C5 - 295 HOMEBUSH FITZY and THRILLING BART were both slow to jump. Both dogs recovered along the inside with HOMEBUSH FITZY finishing fifth and THRILLING BART recording an impressive victory. HOMEBUSH JANE and AWESOME AUTUMN were both tightened into the bend. HOMEBUSH JANE remained at the rear while AWESOME AUTUMN charged home for its fourth placing. ROYAL FERN (GA Cleeve) left hip support soreness. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 3 December 2006.
Race 12 SUPER PETS STAKES - C0 - 520 MIDDY KIM, MAURITIUS and MERCEDES HOPE were all tightened into the first bend and lost ground with all dogs finishing well back. Soon after the favourite THRILLING EVO got a slight check from MR BARRINGTON knocking it off balance and losing ground. THRILLING EVO recovered well to run third with MR BARRINGTON dropping out to finish a long last. A post race veterinary check on MR BARRINGTON revealed no injury. SMART MIDDY (R Casey) right hind fibula strain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 6 December 2006.
Race 13 ON COURSE $8 ROAST & REFRESHMENT STAKES - C0 - 520 The winner BOATSWAIN WALLY was observed to turn its head on the home turn. This dog was ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1. Post race veterinary checks on BOATSWAIN WALLY and CHILE MAID revealed no injury to either dog. MUPPET MAN, THRILLING DAISY and BLUE KIWI were all tightened into the bend losing ground and never recovering. BOATSWAIN WALLY (JR Goode) satisfactory trial to be undertaken under Rule 81.1
Race 14 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND SPRINT - C2 - 295 PAINT THE STARS was checked when racing in tight quarters into the bend and lost ground finishing in sixth placing.
Race 15 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER SPRINT - C2 - 295 COCONUT ICE was tightened into the first bend losing ground finishing fifth.
Race 16 KOLORFUL KANVAS STAKES - C3 - 520 TE PIRITA TIGER faltered after fifty metres finishing a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn left gracilus with a twenty-eight day stand down recommended. ANOTHER GALE hit the rail as the eventual winner WINSOME BLITZ ran past it and tightened it. She dropped out to finish seventh. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. TE PIRITA TIGER (C Mitchell) torn left gracilus. Rule 82.1 28 days up to and including 25 December 2006.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C2 - 520 THRILLING ROCCO received a check on the first bend when crossed by JOHNNY BAXTER. THRILLING ROCCO over reacted and ducked out wide taking FANTASY FAIR off the track with both dogs losing their chances. COOL PILGRIM was very slow to jump and remained well back throughout. PARADISE ECHO (JM Jopson) was a late scratching at kennelling with a left hind toe sprain. Rule 68.26. 14 days up to and including 11 December 2006.
Race 18 WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB SPRINT - C3 - 295 TITANIC was checked when racing in tight quarters shortly after the start and ran outwards on to HEEZ BACK IN with both dogs losing ground. They came together again on the home turn and finished at the rear.
Race 19 DUAL CODE 7TH DECEMBER DASH - C4 - 295 HOMEBUSH SALLY and HOMEBUSH BUBBLES tangled when at the rear on the bend. A post race veterinary check on HOMEBUSH SALLY revealed no injury. LOCHINVAR RHETT (MM Grant) deceased.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C4 - 520 PAREORA JACK and LAGOON TALLIS were a shade slow to jump and settled well back.. PAREORA JACK remained well back with LAGOON TALLIS running on for third. TIMELY FLIRT (Lawrence/Lockett) allergic reaction. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 1 December 2006. ASAFA BALE (JT McInerney) vomiting. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 1 December 2006.
