Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Race 1. T.A.Green the trainer of Miss Gray was questioned regarding the overall racing performance of this greyhound and advised that immediate race performances will be monitored closely.

Race 3. Trainer P.W.Cleaver (Bassai Dai) expressed concern regarding the track surface and a pad injury sustained during the running. Mr Cleaver's comments were conveyed to Mr P.Henley (Track Maintenance Team).

Race 5. Trainer / Handler P.Henley (Remo Blaster) was questioned and subsequently warned under Rule 71.4 for running back from the 375mtr start to catch this greyhound at the conclusion of the race without obtaining prior permission before leaving the kennel area. Mr Henley stated that the greyhound was extremely timid when being caught.

The Green Light (All clear to start the lure, signal to the Lure Driver) on top of the starting boxes malfunctioned after Race 4 and an alternative manual communication was required.

Race 8. Prior to this race Stewards inspected a 20 mtr section of track at the 375 mtr start caused by the bulb in an overhead track light blowing. Upon close view it was considered not to be a potential visual hazard for greyhounds racing through it.

Race 8. Handler, K.Wilson (Reserve Decision) was questioned and reminded of Rules 68.13, 68.14 and 68.15 in relation to strapping.

Race 1 KARAPIRO DISTANCE - C0d - 630 Thrilling Class was the slowest to begin. Miss Gray drifted to the rear in the back straight and showed no improvement thereafter finishing last. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury (refer Judicial).
Race 2 SUPERIOR CHUNKY DOG ROLLS STAKES - C1 - 457 Spring Bundy and Thrilling Power came together at the start with the latter being checked. Spring Bundy, Thrilling Power and Winsome Blitz came together after 40 mtrs with all being checked. Ultra Sting (P & L Henley). Bruising / sprain of metacarpal area of left wrist. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days to and including 23.10.06. Thrilling Jaguar (R.P.O'Regan). Right eye infection. Sprung toe, right fore with some swelling. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days to and including 23.10.06. Kobble Up (J.T.McInerney). Rule 82.1. Ex Christchurch GRC 17.10.06.
Race 3 TAUWHARE DASH - C1 - 375 Another Laurel stumbled at the start, lost 3 lengths and made up ground strongly for 2nd. Bassai Dai, Hoksilato and Spyridon Louis raced in tight quarters when entering the first turn.
Race 4 T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE DASH - C3/4 - 375 Joebees Jet jumped outwards at the start and checked Coach Purdon slightly. Joebees Jet ran outwards on the home turn, checked itself and lost 2 lengths. Dreamaqueen (H.R.Bond). Graze at bottom edge of the left ear. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days to and including 25.10.06.
Race 5 TAMAHERE SPRINT - C3 - 375 Thrilling Lucy and Music Lesson came together for a stride when entering the first turn with Music Lesson being checked slightly. Music Lesson changed ground outwards on the home turn and lost 2 lengths in the process.
Race 6 WAIKATO RACEPIX STAKES - C2/3 - 457 Entering the first turn Thrilling Louie and Plenty Of Dash came together resulting in a slight check to both. These runners then jostled continuously around the first turn and eventually resulted in a severe check to Plenty Of Dash on the point of the bend.
Race 7 DENNIS COLE MEMORIAL SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C5q - 375 Heat 1 Hypoumunga was slowest to begin and made up ground well for 4th.
Race 8 DENNIS COLE MEMORIAL SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C5q - 375 Heat 1 Homebush Phil, Ridley Reason and Charlston Kid were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn and again shortly after Lady Tandia moved outwards off the rail and checked Charlston Kid on both occasions which recovered very well to finish 3rd. Reserve Decision raced very wide in the home straight. Dynamic Keroma (B & L Craik). Club scratching. Drawn in error.
Race 9 COMMITTEE STAKES - C4 - 457 Richfield Reason and Dancing Harry came together at the start resulting in both being severely checked. Fats Domino drifted to the rear on the first turn and showed no improvement thereafter. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury.
Race 10 DUAL CODE HERE THURSDAY 26 OCTOBER - C5 - 457 Entering the first turn Thrilling Hugo made contact with the running rail, bounced off and collided with Thrilling Buzz which was severely checked. In the chain reaction of interference Homebush Bradley, Rowland Reason and Warnie were severely checked with the latter then becoming unbalanced and falling. A post race veterinary examination of runner detected no injury. Rowland reason ran very wide on the home turn.
