One of the favourites THRILLING WILMA did not appear to be striding out normally until the home straight where she made up some ground for 4th place.A Vet inspection cleared the dog of injury and a close watch will be kept on her form in the next couple of races.
Race 2 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C2 - 305 LUKE SAMMY ZAK was checked on the first corner, lost several lengths and all chance of a placing. HOMEBUSH TRUMP P.Knights Rule 82 Suffered a toe nail injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 17.10.06.
Race 3 HEADS ROAD VET - C2 - 520 THIS TIME BOOTS and ASTRO NERONE collided on the first corner and again entering the back straight, went back to the rear and finished well back. Race 4 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR FINAL - C1f - 520 All clear. MISS EBONY ROSE W.T.Hodgson Rule 68 A late scratching due to the onset of kennel cough and stood down for 10 days to and including 17.10.06.
Race 5 GUTHRIE BOWRON - C3 - 305 The favourite SEXY BEAST was slow to begin and settled in last place. SEXY BEAST then made ground well for 4th place. THRILLING FLIRT Ex Wellington on05.10.06. BLACK SAL Ex Auckland on 06.10.06.
Race 6 VITA POWER - EXCEED - C3/4 - 520 UNO YOU LIKA was checked soon after the start, went back to last and never recovered. ROLE MODEL was checked entering the back straight and lost a little ground. MICHELAC W.T.Hodgson Rule 64 Has some slight pain in a thigh muscle, was presented and stood down for 2 days to and including 08.10.06.
Race 7 WANGANUI SECURITY - C1f - 305 The favourite HILLYS TIP was one of the slowest away but recovered to win well. BIGTIME JULIE moved in from the start and tightened SWAPSY and VOO DOO with VOO DOO dropping out to last and she stayed there to the finish.
Race 8 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C5 - 520 THRILLING NEWTON turned his head towards FREDDY MAGIC in the final straight and was stood down for 28 days and is required to trial satisfactorily. before his next Totalisator start. Race 9 THE RADIO WORKS - C4 - 305 Tightening soon after the start resulted in checks to HOMEBUSH SNIPPET, SHARIMORE, PEEL RIDGE SUE, DUSTY'S DIAMOND and GUS THE BUILDER who all lost ground and they filled the last 5 places at the finish.
