Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Trainer JT McInerney was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when ANOTHER PRIDE weighed in 1.1 kgs above its last race weight.
Trainer JT McInerney was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when INFECTIOUS AZZ weighed in 1.2 kgs under its last race weight.
Trainer PJ Norris was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when HOMEBUSH LARKIN weighed in 1.3 kgs above its last race weight.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned in regards to no catchers being present to catch HOMEBUSH LAKSMI and ANOTHER LAUREL after the running of Race 16 under Rule 71.4.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES - C2 - 520 SUZY SANDSTORM ducked inwards sharply into the first bend and appeared to brush the running rail. She settled midfield and failed to make any impression.
Race 2 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND SPRINT - C1 - 295 Favourite SLAVE DRIVER was a shade slow from the inside but improved quickly to be in behind the leaders into the first bend. At this point when looking to improve he came into contact with AWESOME BROWNIE causing this dog to fall. HOMEBUSH DUNCAN and NOCRONS RAIDER were also badly checked in this incident. AWESOME BROWNIE quickly regained his feet and completed the race. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury.
Race 3 CARLTON HOTEL DASH - C0 - 295 ESCAPE THE STORM and CLELAND GOLD were very slow to jump and remained well back throughout. WHERE'S ANOTHER received a check into the bend and ran very wide into the bend losing all chance. MIGHTY POWER was observed to be difficult to box for handler R Hunter. After discussion with the starter this dog was declared hard to box and its papers endorsed under Rule 72.10.
Race 4 GARDEN CITY CHEM STAKES - C0 - 520 HEEZA FREE faltered and fell at the first bend. A post race veterinary check revealed pain in the right scapula with a fourteen day stand down recommended. JIN JU was badly checked in this incident and lost all chance. HEEZA FREE (MM Grant) right scapula pain. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 9 October 2006.
Race 5 ALPHA PROCESSING SPRINT - C0 - 295 MISTER MUSSON was checked on the first bend when attempting to ease off the quarters of HOMEBUSH MARK. He over-reacted and ran wide into the home straight losing all chance.
Race 6 ADDINGTON FUNCTION CENTRE STAKES - C1 - 520 This race was delayed two minutes due to an Australian race running late. CLAN PHOENIX and DARK ZEPHYR were both squeezed shortly after the start as COUGARS CRUZIN crossed from its outside draw. Into the back straight ANOTHER LLOYD was tightened by COUGARS CRUZIN as it improved around the field. COUGARS CRUZIN ran on attractively for a close fifth with the other dogs remaining well back.
Race 7 EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR & TAB DASH - C1 - 295 DASH DOT DASH and BAGTOWN BOY received checks on the bend when TITANIC attempted to run outwards. DASH DOT DASH dropped out to finish last while BAGTOWN BOY made up some ground to finish fifth.
Race 8 FLAIR STAKES - C0 - 520 MISS FINE LINE failed to pursue the lure after the jump settling 50 metres behind the field. After a post race veterinary check revealed no injury this dog was stood down for 28 days and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial under Rule 80.1.b. INDIANAPOLIS KID was checked by CHILE DAN down the back straight losing ground and finishing seventh. MISS FINE LINE (Hart/Taylor) 28 days up to and including 23 October 2006. Rule 80.1.b
Race 9 HOUNDS FOR HOMES PH 03-312-1699 SPRINT - C0 - 295 All clear.
Race 10 ON-COURSE $8 ROAST & REFRESHMENT DASH - C2 - 295 AWESOME KEV and HOMEBUSH RYAN tangled into the first bend and finished well back.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK STAKES - C2 - 520 HEART OF DESIRE, CHAMPAGNE JEWEL and LOUIE MCDODD were all tightened into the first bend losing ground. HEART OF DESIRE made up a lot of ground to finish third with the other two dogs remaining well back. TRENDY OPAWA (MJ Flipp) two lacerations to the right wrist. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 29 September 2006.
Race 12 DAVE EMERSON CONSULTANCY SPRINT - C1 - 295 Favourite SISSINGHURST, HOMEBUSH JADE, INFECTIOUS AZZ and MULBERRY SNOOP were all tightened into the first bend with SISSINGHURST the worst affected. She never saw daylight for the rest of the race and finished an unlucky seventh. BLANCHED (JF Allen) elevated temperature. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 30 September 2006.
Race 13 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING STAKES - C1 - 520 WHISKY LEE GIRL, CLAN BAILEY and BAXTER'S BOY were all slow to jump. Into the first bend MULBERRY CHIEF checked off CLAN MCINERNEY with CLAN BAILEY and WHISKY LEE GIRL being forced wide. All of these dogs finished midfield or worse.
Race 14 POWER FARMING STAKES - C1 - 520 BILLY BAXTER stumbled shortly after the start but recovered quickly and stormed home to win convincingly. OPAWA VANE ducked outwards at the first bend free of interference losing ground and never recovered finishing sixth. WINSOME BLITZ was a late scratching at kennelling with a swollen and infected right wrist. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 30 September 2006.
Race 15 INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD DASH - C1 - 295 Favourite NGAWI BAY was the slowest to jump settling a clear last. General tightening into the first bend resulted in MCCRACKENS BOY, DENDON and NO VICES all losing ground with the favourite NGAWI BAY also receiving a check in this incident. These dogs all finished beyond midfield. THRILLING BART (AC Roberts) stood down at Wellington GRC on 21 September 2006. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 27 September 2006.
Race 16 SHIRLEY TAB STAKES - C1 - 520 ANOTHER LAUREL led for most of the journey but was checked by the eventual winner RAJUN CAJUN on the home turn and weakened out to finish fifth. LOUD AND PROUD (J&D Fahey) right fore fifth toe infected. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 30 September 2006.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C3 - 520 HOMEBUSH JUSTIN ran wide into the first bend losing all chance. Favourite EMULATE settled well back and made up ground late in the race to finish fifth. LAGOON LADY (JT McInerney) bad cramp. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 4 October 2006.
Race 18 $100K PICK SIX @ WAIKATO TOMORROW DASH - C3 - 295 TAIM BIHAIN and WHATA TOWN were slow to jump. HOMEBUSH OPAL, CLAN MISTY and THAT VIRUS were all checked due to general tightening into the first bend with all dogs finishing well back. SUPREME DENIM lost ground when racing in between dogs around the home turn and in doing so ran inwards severely checking THAT VIRUS with both dogs finishing at the rear.
Race 19 BACK AGAIN TUESDAY SPRINT - C2 - 295 BLAZIN A TRAIL was very slow to jump settling last. BRUNO DIABLO, CLAN JAYDEE and MYSTERY SOLVED were all tightened into the bend with BLAZIN A TRAIL copping the backwash. These dogs filled the last four placings.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C5 - 520 ANOTHER WHISKY checked off HOMEBUSH BRADLEY on the first bend with HOMEBUSH THORN and THRILLING CLARE losing ground in this incident. ANOTHER WHISKY recovered to finish second with the other dogs remaining well back. PICNIC DAY (RD Blackburn) stood down Christchurch GRC on 22 September 2006. Rule 80.1. Three months up to and including 21 December 2006.
