Judicial report: Weather: Fine Race 5. S.C.Mann the Handler of Overload (winner) was questioned regarding his behaviour during the parade back to the presentation area following the conclusion of this race. Having taken all relevant factors into account including a claim by Mr Mann of provocation, the Stewards reminded him of the required standards and also issued him with a final warning under Rule 88.1 (q).

Race 1 SUPERIOR DOG ROLLS SPRINT - C2 - 375 There was no 'head on' coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside due to other commitments. Glenmire, Best Place and Maximum were the slowest to begin. Quiver Lip changed ground outwards when racing 2nd on the home turn and lost 2 lengths.
Race 2 WAIKATO AWARD WINNERS DASH - C0 - 375 Thrilling Jaguar, Clutters and Awesome Hidalgo were the slowest to begin. That Girl ran inwards sharply at the start and checked Nochipin Me then hampered that runner for several strides. Nochipin Me moved outwards entering the first turn and checked itself and That Girl. Clutters and Sable Raeder came together momentarily nearing the home turn with both being slightly checked.
Race 3 PRINCE TOSHACK (LEADING STAYER) - C3 - 457 Hot Dickadee and Remo Blaster were slow to begin. Plenty Of Dash and Killer Touch came together at the start with both being severely checked. Remo Blaster suffered a slight check in this incident. Jacki Flex and Holah A Hypo jostled for several strides prior to the first turn with both suffering slight checks in the process. Plenty Of Dash ran inwards entering the first turn and checked itself and Raheny Reason. Raheny Reason ran outwards on the home turn when racing 3rd and lost several lengths at a crucial stage. Killer Touch ran outwards off the rail after straightening for the run home and checked itself and Jacki Flex.
Race 4 ARANUI MIST (LEADING HURDLER) DASH - C1 - 375 Nutty Squirrel and Shanti were the slowest to begin. Astro Sharrie and Certainly came together at the start with both being checked. Nutty Squirrel was tightened and checked between these runners as a result of this incident. Entering the first turn Nutty Squirrel ran into the hind quarters of Montecito with both being checked. Shortly after Certainly galloped on the hind quarters of Astro Sharrie which became unbalanced and fell. Nutty Squirrel, Certainly and Shanti suffered further checks in this combined incident with Shanti also taking evasive action by running very wide around the bend. A post race veterinary examination of Astro Sharrie detected an injury requiring a 7 day stand down from racing. Certainly moved outwards on the home turn and inconvenienced Shanti slightly. Astro Sharrie (A.Cleaver). Back soreness and grazing. Rule 82.1. 7 days to and including 27.09.06. (Registration papers to be presented to Stewards for endorsement).
Race 5 MAXI THE TAXI (TOP SPRINTER) IMPROVERS FINAL - C1f - 375 Ray Reeb and I've Got Mail were the slowest to begin. Maggy Jay ran inwards at the start and checked Trendy Jill. Trendy Jill was denied clear racing room entering the first turn then ran wide on the bend and again on the home turn when at the rear. Catch A Virus ( G.Calverley ) Kennel cough.Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12.14 days to and including 28.09.06 ( Eligible to be drawn into this Race Final when heats not conducted but was withdrawn prior to the box draw ).
Race 6 THRILLING HUBBA (TOP MIDDLE DISTANCE) - C1/2 - 457 Elite Paradise, Thrilling Dane and Autumn Angel were the slowest to begin. Jostling after 45 mtrs resulted in severe checks to Our Freddie, Gentle Lee and Elite Paradise. Entering the home turn Gentle Lee moved outwards and checked itself slightly when making contact with Our Freddie. Thrilling Power (K.Walsh).Bruising and swelling to left front leg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 30.09.06.
Race 7 KAREN WALSH (TOP STRIKERATE TRAINER) - C3 - 375 Thrilling Ollie, Marble Nugget and Thrilling Kelly were the slowest to begin. Marble Nugget and Dreamaqueen came together for a stride at the start with Dreamaqueen being checked slightly. Victory Chant ran wide on the bend and ran on well for 2nd.
Race 8 WAIKATO GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR (MAXI THE TAXI) - C5 - 375 Kylie's Dilema ran inwards at the start and severely checked Noble Osti and Super Deal. Fancy Bonnie moved inwards entering the first turn and forced Lady Tandia onto the running rail resulting in both runners being severely checked. Noble Osti and Bailed Out came together on the bend and home turn with both suffering slight checks. A post race veterinary examination of Lady Tandia detected no abnormalities.
Race 9 BEN & LISA CRAIK (LEADING TRAINERS) - C5 - 457 Thrilling Match and Thrilling Buzz came together for a stride at the start. Milena Miss ran outwards at the start and inconvenienced Winsome State. Jostling after 45 mtrs resulted in checks to Entrepreneur, Cawbourne Frank and Thrilling Buzz. Nearing the first turn Winsome State pushed through on the rail and checked Warnie slightly. Entering the first turn Cawbourne Frank moved inwards to the rail and severely checked Entrepreneur.
Race 10 RACING HERE WEDNESDAY 27 SEPTEMBER @ 4PM - C4/5 - 457 Time Solves was slow to begin. Stabila Boss started to bore outwards after 55 mtrs and carted Awesome Hit with it. Sonny Bill Allen (G.N.Pomeroy). Torn left thigh muscles. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 21 days to and including 11.10.06.
