Race 1 SPICERS PAPER DASH - C0 - 297 Part of the lure broke during the stirrup for this race and the meeting was put back one race for the entire programme to enable repairs to be carried out. The lure was tested and the race started at the amended time but the lure slipped on the wire rope and was caught by the field after 200 metres. Some of the runners then ran back around the track and the race was abandoned in the interests of the dogs welfare and the betting public
Race 2 PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS - C1 - 297 The lure was again tested thoroughly and the race was started close to time. NONSTOP SHADEY and SEILATAN were slow to begin and settled at the rear.SEILATAN who was the favourite made up ground well for 5th place. LIGHTS OFF Ex Wanganui on 18.08.06. RUIZ ROYALE Ex Wanganui on 18.08.06.
Race 3 TOTAL BODY SHOP - C4/5 - 297 CADMUS was handy early in the race but was checked and fell in the back straight. CADMUS was checked by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 4 ACCSYS FOR QUICKBOOKS - C1 - 505 All clear. HOMEBUSH LEGEND M.Clark Rule 64 Suffering from a leg injury and was stood down for 28 days to and including 17.09.06 CRUZMORE I.Moore Rule 82 Suffered a nail quick injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 27.08.06.
Race 5 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C2 - 297 RAVEN LOU was very slow to begin and then ran wide on the first bend but made a great recovery to win with ease.
Race 6 CAMBRIDGE HOTEL - C3 - 505 MANAWA NUI, TARTARE SAUCE and ARANUI TAMY were checked on the first turn, lost several lengths and finished in the last three places. RAINING MEN K.Jackson Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 17.09.06.
Race 7 EXCHANGE HOTEL - C3 - 297 All clear.
Race 8 UPPER VALLEY PANEL - C4 - 297 FRIDAY CULTURE clipped the heels of the leader SAILAH JAYNE on the first corner, checked and lost a little ground but then recovered to finish in 3rd place. LADY BRIANA M.Sutton Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 30.08.06. REBEL ALLIANCE T.Pilcher Rule 64 Has a foreleg injury and was presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 27.08.06.
Race 9 EL CHEAPO CARS - C4/5 - 505 HOT DISCOVERY dropped out soon after the start and finished several lengths last. HOT DISCOVERY was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 10 B & P ENGINEERING - C2 - 505 The field caught the lure soon after the start and so all runners were checked by the Vet and cleared fit for the restart. The meeting was put back a race and the lure was again tested before the race was restarted at the amended time. SEXY ASSASSIN was checked entering the last bend and lost a little ground. ANTONI BEE checked over the heels of STAUNCH on the last bend when they were racing at the rear and they finished a few lengths behind the 3rd last dog.. JANE DOE Ex Wanganui on 18.08.06. SAVIOLA O.Marron Rule 64 Suffering from a toe injury and was presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 29.08.06.
Race 11 WGTN HOUNDS @ HATRICK 30TH AUGUST - C1 - 505 ARANUI GOLD was buffetted and pushed sideways for a few strides on the first corner.
Race 12 WGTN HOUNDS @ HATRICK 30TH AUGUST - C1 - 505 This race was started 32 minutes behind the advertized time due to the earlier breakdowns. The race was all clear.
