Judicial report: Weather: Cold Trainers A Hart and K Taylor were fined $75.00 for a breach of rule 69.11 when Outside Hoyts weighed in 1.1 kgs above its last race weight
Trainer AC Roberts was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 71.4 for failing to ensure a handler was in attendance at the catching area for THRILLING DIESEL after the running of Race 14.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES - C1 - 520 OUTSIDE HOYTS ducked out at the first bend checking ANGEL OF HARLEM which relegated that dog to last. OUTSIDE HOYTS remained well back finishing sixth with ANGEL OF HARLEM running on late to finish fifth. Approaching the home turn BLUE CURRENT moved outwards checking ANGEL OF HARLEM and CLAN PHOENIX which lost ground. BLUE CURRENT and CLAN PHOENIX filled the last two placings. THRILLING SPICE (AC Roberts) left hind outside sesamoid sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 10 September 2006. SONNY BOY JONES (R Adcock) cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 27 August 2006.
Race 2 CELTIC ARMS INN SPRINT - C0 - 295 WERES WOODSEY was slow to jump but railed inside dogs to finish well for its third placing. Into the first bend severe tightening cost TE PIRITA PANTHA, BLUE VIRUS, HOMEBUSH DILLON and BRIGHT GEORGE any chances they had and they filled the last four placings. SUM TOTAL (JM Jopson) left fore fifth toe sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 3 September 2006. REGAL HERITAGE (L Darlington) starter in Race 5
Race 3 SUPER PETS DASH - C1 - 295 BELLE OF PAREORA was checked into the first bend by an improving TAMBOOLI losing all chance and finishing last.
Race 4 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY STAKES - C0 - 520 KAZOO FLU, UPBEAT and THRILLING CHAD were all slow to leave the traps and remained well back throughout. ANOTHER LLOYD (JT McInerney) left hind stress fracture fibula. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 30 August 2006.
Race 5 KOLORFUL KANVAS DASH - C0 - 295 Second favourite TO CASUAL was slowest to jump and received a check into the first bend when tightened along with VILLETTE and CAPTAIN MCCAW. All of these dogs finished well back at the post. HOMEBUSH DAVE (JT McInerney) stood down Otago GRC 17 August 2006. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 26 August 2006.
Race 6 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND SPRINT - C1 - 295 HOMEBUSH CLAN jumped brilliantly but ran out badly soon after the start losing its momentum. This dog also checked off FANTA CLAWS at the end of the back straight. Into the bend AWESOME BROWNIE fell when coming together with SOMERSET BLUE. AWESOME BROWNIE regained its feet quickly to complete the race while SOMERSET BLUE made up ground to finish fourth. Post race veterinary checks on HOMEBUSH CLAN and AWESOME BROWNIE revealed no injuries to either dogs.
Race 7 HAMPDEN TAVERN STAKES - C0 - 520 NURSE RUBY and WHATA ASSASSIN came together several times early in the race and were out of contention thereafter. TIAWANA ran out shortly after the start tightening NGAWI BAY but was still second at the first bend. This dog again ran out on that bend and lost ground from then on to finish last. JOHNNY BAXTER checked off the heels of GELIGNITE just prior to the home turn losing ground before running on well for its third placing
Race 8 CONTAINERMAN SPRINT - C2 - 295 Favourite OHOKA FLIRT was a shade slow from the inside box and was tightened when attempting to improve into the first bend. She lost ground at that point and never recovered finishing last.
Race 9 THE TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C0 - 295 HEEZA SPY, JESSIE BLUE and INDIANAPOLIS KID were all slow to jump and were the last three throughout the contest.
Race 10 $8 ROAST & REFRESHMENT DASH - C1 - 295 The start of this race was delayed by 2 minutes due to a hailstorm that delayed the stir ups. ROCHDALE LAD and HOMEBUSH ALLY came together at the end of the back straight and lost ground. ROCHDALE LAD made good ground for fourth while HOMEBUSH ALLY stayed in midfield finishing sixth.
Race 11 SHIRLEY TAB STAKES - C1 - 520 THRILLING PIPER was severely checked into the first bend and NO VICES was forced wide as a result of this. Both dogs finished well back.
Race 12 BILLS BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C0 - 295 WHIPOCHET was slow and when improving sharply between dogs into the bend received a check as did MULBERRY MUFFIN, both losing all chance to finish at the rear.
Race 13 HOUNDS 4 HOMES STAKES - C0 - 520 BIG TEASE and HIDDEN SECRETS were slow to jump. Into the first bend BIG TEASE and the favourite THRILLING ROCCO tangled for some distance and both lost ground. Both dogs put up huge performances to finish second and fifth respectively. HIDDEN SECRETS was checked when improving across the top by a weakening BAXTER'S BOY. She ran on well for fourth. MAURITIUS (JM Jopson) lost condition after last race start. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 3 September 2006.
Race 14 BARRONS SUPPLIES STAKES - C1 - 520 THRILLING DIESEL was the slowest to jump but made up ground well to finish fourth. Into the first bend THRILLING BART fell when checked on the outside of GREAT ESTATE. SHADY'S MATE was also affected in this incident and lost its chance. A post race veterinary check on THRILLING BART revealed no injury.
Race 15 COASTERS TAVERN SPRINT - C1 - 295 Favourite SWEDISH CHEF raced in third place throughout and checked off the heels of QUANAH just prior to the home turn. He remained in third place for the remainder of the race. ADIO ROUTINE (GA Cleeve) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 17 September 2006.
Race 16 NUTRI-ZING STAKES - C1 - 520 CLAN BAILEY was slow to jump and remained last throughout.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C4 - 520 MIDNIGHT FLUTTER checked off KAKAMA racing into the first bend with CONNECT shunted wide as a result. MIDNIGHT FLUTTER dropped out to finish last with CONNECT making up ground in the straight to run into fourth placing. KANE BALE (Hart/Taylor) stood down Christchurch GRC 18 August 2006. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 18 August 2006. SIESMIC (R Adcock) split webb left hind. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 30 August 2006. MUSCOVY (MM Grant) was a late scratching at kennelling with a right fore sprained toe. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 14 days up to and including 4 September 2006.
Race 18 FITZGERALD ARMS TAVERN DASH - C2 - 295 KIDICHIA'S DREAM, TRINITY STAR, PAINT THE STARS and CLAN NOVA were all badly checked when racing into the first bend in a very tightly packed field. These dogs all lost their chances at this point and were the last four home. CLAN JAYDEE (HG Cairns) severe wrist injury. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 28 days up to and including 16 September 2006.
Race 19 DUAL CODE FRIDAY DASH - C3 - 295 Favourite CRAFTY CARSON received a slight check early in the race but raced in midfield all the way and never looked likely to pay a dividend.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C2 - 520 RAILROAD WARRIOR, THRILLING MELODY and LOUIS MCDODD came together into the first bend losing all chance and finishing at the rear. THAT VIRUS (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 25 August 2006.
