Judicial report: Weather: Showery A Charge under Rule 64.2 was laid against Trainer G.Calverley for the alleged scratching, without valid reason, of the greyhound Sudoku Solver from Race 8 at the AGRC meeting held on 06.08.06.
Mr Calverley did not admit to a breach of the rule and a Hearing was conducted.
Following consideration of all relevant evidence in relation to the matter the Adjudicating Steward (K.G.Coutts) upheld the Charge and imposed a fine of $150.00 in this instance.

Race 1	www.exposure.co.nz WEBSITE HOSTING DASH - C0 - 318	Hunkaspunk, American Bound and Got Hope were the slowest to begin. Santas Awesome, American Bound and Got Hope came together after 15 mtrs with all being checked slightly. Hunkaspunk ran inwards sharply at the start. Got Hope and Santas Awesome came together for a stride after 40 mtrs with both being checked slightly. Entering the first turn Watch My Freckle moved inwards and checked itself and Hunkaspunk. I've Got Mail which was racing in behind these runners was also checked.
Race 2	OXY-SHOT NEW ZEALAND MAIDEN STAKES FINAL - C0f - 527	Token Enforcer and Hoksilato were the slowest to begin. General tightening after 50 mtrs resulted in severe checks to Spring Bundy, Take The Micky, Thrilling Fish and Thrilling Milly. Spring Bundy moved outwards on the first bend and checked itself and Token Enforcer which recovered well for 3rd. Entering the back straight Hoksilato drifted to the rear and then came together with Spring Bundy on the final bend with both being checked. Patricia Sherry (O.K.Marron). Sore / sprained lower neck. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 21.08.06.
Race 3	MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C1 - 318	Delability was boxed first due to a current 'hard to box' classification and was reported to box without undue difficulty. Delability and Just Bank It were the slowest to begin. Kath moved outwards after 30 mtrs and checked Thrilling Lucy. Entering the first turn Delability when in the rear group, moved outwards and checked itself, Just Bank It and to a lesser extent Astro Sharrie. Night Nugget moved off the rail slightly on the home turn and severely checked Selkcahs Legend which recovered well for 3rd. A post race veterinary examination of Delability detected an injury requiring a 7 day stand down from racing. Delability (J & L Nixon). Lame right front / spiked digit 2. Metacarpal - phalangeal joint. Rule 82.1. 7 days to and including 19.08.06.
Race 4	PUTT AROUND THE ROCKS SPRINT FEATURE - C3 - 318	Lord Maximus and Traditionalist were the slowest to begin. Big Archie and Dreamaqueen came together for a stride after 15 mtrs. Entering the first turn Cheap ran outwards sharply off the rail checking Dreamaqueen and hampering Big Archie. Dreamaqueen and Raheny Reason jostled for several strides around the bend. Cheap moved outwards slightly in the home straight and inconvenienced Big Archie momentarily.
Race 5	COMMERCIAL PLUMBING LTD STAKES - C3/4 - 527	Rowland Reason and Killer Touch were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Music Lesson and Mo'em Down came together with both being checked. Music Lesson moved outwards shortly after entering the back straight and checked Holah A Hypo.
Race 6	PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD DASH - C4 - 318	Joebees Jet was the slowest to begin. Wild Kentucky and Stooge came together at the start with both being checked. Final Objective and Miss MacSteele came together at the start with both being checked. Charlston Chill moved outwards on the bend and checked Origin Teddy and Final Objective.
Race 7	CAROL'S TABS' DASH - C1 - 318	Homebush Westie ran inwards at the start and checked itself, Talkabout That and Catch A Virus. Black Sal and Grays Joe came together for a stride at the start with both being checked slightly. Grays Joe drifted to the rear shortly after the start and then made up ground along the rail to finish 5th. Smart Zac and Catch A Virus jostled several times prior to the first turn. Entering the first turn Mrs Goodley ran out sharply off the rail and carted Talkabout That very wide with it. Mrs Goodley and Talkabout That came together on the home turn with both being severely checked.
Race 8	www.agrc.co.nz DASH - C5 - 318	Foreign Diplomat was a late scratching on veterinary advice during pre race preparation and has been stood down from racing for 5 days. Flash Shooter and MacMcLeod raced in tight quarters from the start to the first turn. Tarrah and Spring Storm came together for a stride on the home turn with Spring Storm being severely checked. Coruba Rush (G.R.Farrell). Split nail right fore digit. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 10 days to and including 21.08.06. Foreign Diplomat (B & L Craik). Late scratching on Veterinary advice. Acute lameness pre race. Mild pain elbow and shoulder on extension of left fore. Rule 82.1. 5 days to and including 17.08.06.
Race 9	STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C2 - 318	Nadal reared as the boxes opened and then stumbled badly on landing, lost 6 lengths and was always at the rear thereafter. Davron Lass and San Shin came together for a stride after 40 mtrs with both being checked slightly then jostled for several strides nearing the first turn. San Shin moved outwards on the bend and inconvenienced Bullet Blue. Davron Lass clipped the heels of Jimmitom on the home turn when midfield resulting in both being checked slightly.
Race 10	'WE RACE THURSDAY 17TH AUGUST' STAKES - C1 - 527	Thrilling John and Thrilling Class were the slowest to begin. Ivals Folly,Tempest Lass and Thrilling Zeus came together after 25 mtrs with all being checked slightly. Nearing the first turn Ivals Folly and Thrilling Affair came together with both being checked. Thrilling Zeus was tightened and checked between runners nearing the end of the back straight.
