Judicial report: Weather: Raining Handler HG Cairns was fined $25.00 for a breach of rule 71.4 when he failed to catch REBEL CASTE after the running of Race 11.

Race 1	FLAIR STAKES - HEAT 1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1	TRENDY OPAWA and THRILLING DIESEL were checked into the first bend . These dogs settled well back and never improved. On the home turn HOMEBUSH JOCK and ROSIE RETURN were tightened by BILLY BAXTER as this dog was racing past them.. TURBO'S RETURN (GA Cleeve) general soreness. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 14 August 2006.
Race 2	ADVANCE PERFORMANCE SPRINT - C1 - 295	ANOTHER NOTCH was checked on the first bend as THAT VIRUS improved on its inner. MULBERRY FLASH was shunted wide in this incident. THAT VIRUS went on to win the event, MULBERRY FLASH recovering well to finish third while ANOTHER NOTCH wilted to finish fifth. SWEDISH CHEF (JM Jopson) swelling of medial metacarpel. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 14 August 2006.
Race 3	GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND SPRINT - C0 - 295	FENG SHUI and BALLINA BLADE were the slowest to leave the boxes and both dogs finished at the rear. Into the first bend BLUE VIRUS was tightened coming back on RUN LIKE GEORGE with BALLINA BLADE and TE PIRITA PANTHA being forced wide as a result. These dogs all finished midfield. On the home turn BALLINA BLADE and TE PIRITA PANTHA tangled.
Race 4	FLAIR STAKES - HEAT 2 - C1q - 520 Heat 1	SHADY'S MATE and CLAN BAILEY tangled when at the rear into the first bend and never improved. SO BIG ran very wide into the straight free of interference losing its chance and finishing in sixth placing.
Race 5	MASTERFOODS DASH - C0 - 295	LIKA CHEETAH and CAPTAIN MCCAW were slow to leave the boxes. LIKA CHEETAH tailed the field throughout and a post race veterinary check revealed no injury. CAPTAIN MCCAW ran on nicely to finish fourth once he cleared the ruck. AQUATIC TOUCH checked off MULBERRY MUFFIN into the bend and forced FIVE SPEED AUTO wide for the remainder of the race. These dogs all finished midfield.
Race 6	FLAIR STAKES - HEAT 3 - C1q - 520 Heat 1	Second favourite RAGIN CAJUN ran outwards sharply on the turn causing checks to THRILLING ALBERT and the favourite LIMITED IMPACT. These dogs never recovered and all finished at the rear.
Race 7	CELTIC ARMS INN SPRINT - C0 - 295	INDIANAPOLIS KID was very slow to jump and remained well back throughout. Around the bend DASH DOT DASH checked off WHIPWHOP MISS which in turn cannoned into BLACK FIZZER. WHIPWHOP MISS recovered to finish second while the other two dogs finished midfield.
Race 8	BARRONS SUPPLIES STAKES - C3 - 520	HEART OF DESIRE was very slow to jump and settled last in a gap. This dog made up ground to finish sixth but not far from the winner.
Race 9	TUESDAY ON-COURSE PLACEPICK COMP SPRINT - C1 - 295	RICHTER was tightened in between dogs on the first bend and lost ground finishing in fifth placing. On the home turn HOMEBUSH ALLY ran out and checked HOSANNAS RETURN while at the rear. SONNY BOY JONES (R Adcock) right wrist pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 16 August 2006. MULBERRY TRICK (KJ Cassidy) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 30 August 2006. AWESOME BROWNIE (WJ Cairns) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 12 August 2006.
Race 10	ON-COURSE $8 ROAST & REFRESHMENT DASH - C1 - 295	TAMBOOLI tightened IN YOUR FACE and HEEZ BACK IN when racing into the first bend, while shortly afterwards QUANAH was squeezed between eventual winner ROCHDALE LAD and TWISTER SISTER. On the home turn IN YOUR FACE was badly checked off BEKA'S ROSE with HEEZ BACK IN being pushed wide on the track. All of these dogs lost their chances in this incident.
Race 11	WILLY WHAT @ STUD CANTERBURY O.T.B MAIDEN - C0q - 520 Heat 1	The lure was changed prior to the commencement of this race as a safety precaution due to the motor making an unusual noise during the stir up. SUM TOTAL was slow to leave the boxes. On the first bend BIG TEASE checked off SMART WAY with SUM TOTAL cannoning into SMART WAY shortly after. SMART WAY and SUM TOTAL tangled again into the back straight and at the end of the back straight came together again losing more ground. They finished a long way from the rest of the field. WHATA ASSASSIN (MJ Flipp) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 12 August 2006.
Race 12	WILLY WHAT @ STUD CANTERBURY O.T.B MAIDEN - C0q - 520 Heat 1	UPBEAT was slow to jump and JESSIE BLUE was even slower missing the jump by five lengths. UPBEAT ran on for fourth albeit some twenty lengths from the winner while JESSIE BLUE remained well back. MUPPET MAN and MERCEDES HOPE tangled briefly going into the first bend but recovered quickly. MERCEDES HOPE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a left hock sprain with a fourteen day stand down recommended. MERCEDES HOPE (D Kingston) left hock sprain. Rule 80.1. 14 days up to and including 21 August 2006.
Race 13	WILLY WHAT @ STUD CANTERBURY O.T.B MAIDEN - C0q - 520 Heat 1	SUN MIN was slow to jump remaining well back and finishing in seventh placing. LADY MAUREEN ran wide out of the first bend taking the favourite DEVIL INSIDE wider on the track. LADY MAUREEN made up plenty of ground to finish third but DEVIL INSIDE was very disappointing remaining beyond midfield throughout. ANOTHER TRIP (JT McInerney) deceased.
Race 14	WILLY WHAT @ STUD CANTERBURY O.T.B MAIDEN - C0q - 520 Heat 1	TO CASUAL was checked into the first bend when BAGTOWN BOY railed up inside it. TRINITY MAGIC also received a check in this incident and was well back for the remainder of the race. BAGTOWN BOY battled well for second with TO CASUAL recovering from its check but wilting in the straight to finish sixth.
Race 15	WILLY WHAT @ STUD CANTERBURY O.T.B MAIDEN - C0q - 520 Heat 1	All clear.
Race 16	ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C1 - 295	BLAZIN A TRAIL was slow to jump but made up a lot of ground to finish third. Favourite REPEAT OFFENDER stumbled after jumping settling last and never improved from the rear. SAM'S FLIRT (LJ Waretini) deceased.
Race 17	CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP DASH - C2 - 295	POTENTIAL ROGUE checked off JEMALONG EASTERN just prior to the bend with IMA LLOYDIE copping some backwash as a result. These dogs all lost their chances and filled the last three placings.
Race 18	BILLS BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C3/4 - 520	The favourite ORPHAN ASSASSIN was slow to jump but railed nicely to be right behind the leader on the turn. He only battled in the run home to finish third. AWESOME FAWN (JT McInerney) swelling to left carpus. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 17 August 2006. JARED BRANDON (JM Jopson) gracilus tear. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 21 days up to and including 25 August 2006. WHATA DUDE (WJ Cairns) stood down at Christchurch GRC on 3 August 2006. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 12 August 2006. MICRO LITE (WJ Cairns) was a late scratching at kennelling with diarrhoea. Rule 68.26. 5 days up to and including 12 August 2006.
Race 19	DUAL CODE @ ADDINGTON THURSDAY DASH - C2 - 295	ROBERTALAN, LIPSLIDE and KIDICHIA'S DREAM were all inconvenienced due to general tightening into the first bend and AFTERNOON DELITE also received a check at this stage. ROBERTALAN ran on for third but the other dogs remained well back and filled the last three placings. Hot favourite ROYAL REPRIEVE was slow away, improved into the first bend but had its chance and ran a battling fifth.
Race 20	CANTERBURY DRAUGHT $20K SIX PACK - C2 - 520	Second favourite SCOTEXCITED was slow away and then was checked when LIL ENERGISER ran out on the first bend. He never improved finishing in sixth placing.
