Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer KJ Cassidy was fined $50.00 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when his dog MULBERRY MUFFIN weighed in 1.1 kgs higher than its previous race weight.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES - C1 - 520 The hot favourite SCOTEXCITED was slow to jump and then was checked by COLOUR WASH into the first bend. He made up a lot of ground to finish third in a quickly run race. THRILLING SASHA tailed the field until the end of the back straight and when improving marred BRUCE AT XTRA who lost many lengths and finished seventh. Both dogs were subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed no injury for BRUCE AT XTRA but THRILLING SASHA suffered a left hind toenail injury with a ten day stand down recommended. THRILLING SASHA was also stood down for 28 days for marring under Rule 80.1 THRILLING SASHA (AC Roberts) left toenail injury and marring . Rule 80.1. 28 days up to and including 28 August 2006.
Race 2 NEW SEASON DASH - C0 - 295 READY FOR TEDDY was slow to jump. INDIANAPOLIS KID was checked into the first bend forcing COUNTRY TIME wide on the track. These dogs both finished well back.
Race 3 GREYHOUNDS ON TUESDAY'S SPRINT - C0 - 295 LIKA CHEETAH stumbled on leaving the boxes and was last throughout. DENDON and HOMEBUSH LARKIN were both checked into the first bend losing their chances and finishing well back. WHIPOCHET was third around the first bend but ran very wide free of interference losing valuable ground finishing in sixth placing.
Race 4 BARRONS SUPPLIES STAKES - C1 - 520 RAGIN CAJUN was tightened by SUZY SANDSTORM into the first bend which in turn ran outwards checking PALONE and CLAN ROCKAFELLA, these latter two dogs losing their chances. Soon after HAE SOON ducked outwards coming into contact with TRINITY THUNDA. These two dogs both remained at the rear for the remainder of the race. PALONE was found to have sustained a laceration to his right hind foot with a ten day stand down recommended. COOL PILGRIM (MM Grant) sore hock. Rule 64.14. Dog not presented. 28 days up to and including 27 August 2006. PALONE (M Robinson) right hind foot laceration. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 10 August 2006.
Race 5 CONTAINERMAN SPRINT - C0 - 295 The favourite BLACK FIZZER and CLAN MARY LOU were slow to jump settling at the rear. Into the bend TITLE HAVOC and an improving BLACK FIZZER were checked between dogs losing all chance. They finished at the rear with CLAN MARY LOU. STRONG BAD (R Adcock) right toe injury. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 7 days up to and including 6 August 2006.
Race 6 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY STAKES - C0 - 520 WHATA ASSASSIN and WHIZZA`BLUE were tightened soon after the jump losing all chance. NGAWI BAY was handy until the home turn but weakened out in the straight to finish second to last.
Race 7 HAMPDEN TAVERN DASH - C1 - 295 SLAVE DRIVER was slow to jump but made up a lot of ground in the run home to finish fifth. GILL LOOPY drifted soon after the start and remained last throughout.
Race 8 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING SPRINT - C0 - 295 AQUATIC TOUCH, BLUEY HAVOC and REGAL HERITAGE were slow to jump. All finished at the rear. Approaching the home turn BLUEY HAVOC failed to pursue the lure impeding .DASH DOT DASH. He was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1. BLUEY HAVOC (WJ Cairns) Rule 80.1. 28 days up to and including 28 August 2006.
Race 9 ALPHA PROCESSING STAKES - C0 - 520 HIDDEN SECRETS, VILLETTE and TRINITY MAGIC were all tightened into the first bend. VILLETTE ran outwards and raced wide down the back straight losing ground and finishing in last place. THRILLING CHAD (AC Roberts) left wrist pain. Rule 64.12. Dog presented Veterinary certificate supplied. 14 days up to and including 13 August 2006. MERCEDES HOPE (D Kingston) left gracilus pain. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 7 days up to and including 6 August 2006.
Race 10 ADDINGTON FUNCTION CENTRE DASH - C1 - 295 On the final bend the favourite RICHTER and HOMEBUSH ALLY tangled with RICHTER losing all chance in the incident finishing last. CLAN IVORY (HG Cairns) right hind muscle injury. Dog not presented. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 26 August 2006. HAVE MY SAY (GA Cleeve) tail surgery. Rule 64.12 Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 14 days up to and including 12 August 2006.
Race 11 ON-COURSE $8 ROAST & REFRESHMENT STAKES - C2/3 - 520 Favourite WHATA DARLING was galloped on when racing out of the straight by WHATA DUDE and drifted back through the field. WHATA DARLING was also struck by LOUIE MCDODD at the end of the back straight. WHATA DARLING was subject to a post race veterinary check but no injury was detected. HOMEBUSH TERRA (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at the Christchurch GRC meeting on 28 July 2006. Rule 68.26. 14 days up to and including 10 August 2006. HOMEBUSH BELLA (JT McInerney) scratched because of office error by NZGRA. The dog entered should have been MISTRESS BELLA.
Race 12 ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C1 - 295 Favourite OUT COLD was last to jump but ground impressively to finish second. SURFCLUB GIRL kept trying to run outwards over the early stages of the race and received a check from FANTASY FAIR which relegated it to a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. BELLE OF PAREORA (MJ Flipp) right hip pain. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 10 days up to and including 9 August 2006.
Race 13 NUTRI-ZING STAKES - C1 - 520 SHADY'S MATE drifted out down the back straight to a long last and never improved.
Race 14 POWER FARMING SPRINT - C1 - 295 TAMBOOLI was slow to jump but ran on nicely to finish fifth.
Race 15 HOUNDS 4 HOMES PH 03-312-1699 DASH - C1 - 295 NO VICES ran outwards on the bend checking MY BEEDLEBOMB which fell. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. Into the bend MISTRESS BELLA came back on BEKA'S ROSE and TWISTER SISTER with all of these dogs finishing beyond midfield. MULBERRY FLASH (KJ Cassidy) cough. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 5 days up to and including 4 August 2006.
Race 16 SUPER PETS SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C2q - 295 Heat 1 AFTERNOON DELITE was slow settling last. He railed inside the skirmish finishing on to finish fourth. Into the bend RED PAREORA pushed out tightening ROBERTALAN, HOMEBUSH SALLY and IMA LLOYDIE resulting in RED PAREORA falling and not completing the event. The other three dogs finished at the rear. A post race veterinary check on RED PAREORA revealed a fractured off foreleg resulting in euthanasia on humane grounds. RED PAREORA (MJ Flipp) euthanased.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C1/2 - 520 This race was delayed by two minutes due to an Australian harness race being late. OPAWA STATE (J&D Fahey) left wrist injury. Dog not presented. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 27 August 2006.
Race 18 SUPER PETS SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C2q - 295 Heat 1 This race was delayed by one minute due to an Australian harness race being late. JEMALONG EASTERN and SILVER CRISIS dropped to the rear soon after the jump and remained there throughout. HEART OF PROMISE (JT McInerney) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 30 July 2006. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 26 August 2006.
Race 19 SUPER PETS SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C2q - 295 Heat 1 This race was delayed by two minutes due to an Australian harness race being late. Into the bend LIPSLIDE was checked off KIDICHIA'S DREAM and lost momentum. Both dogs finished midfield.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT $20K SIX PACK - C4/5 - 520 All clear. SYDNEY HAVOC (WJ Cairns) was a late scratching with diarrhoea. Rule 64.12. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. 5 days up to and including 5 August 2006. HOMEBUSH GABBY (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling with bruising of the left shoulder. Rule 68.26. Veterinary certificate supplied. 14 days up to and including 14 August 2006.
