Race 1 WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE DASH - C1/2 - 375 Charlston Flash and Davron Express were the slowest to begin. Charlston Flash and Bullet Blue came together for a stride after 30 mtrs with both being checked. Bullet Blue ran wide on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of Charlston Flash detected an injury requiring a 28 day stand down from racing. Charlston Flash (M.J.Lozell) Right gracilis muscle injury. Rule 82.1. 28 days to and including 17.08.06.
Race 2 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Token Enforcer and Hoksilato were the slowest to begin. Nearing the first turn Blade Slayer and That Bloke came together with both being severely checked and Token Enforcer and Hoksilato inconvenienced. Entering the first turn Blade Slayer endeavoured to move outwards and severely checked itself, That Bloke and Hoksilato was inconvenienced again. Nearing the bend Token Enforcer pushed outwards causing severe checks to itself and Blade Slayer. Hoksilato endeavoured to move outwards on the bend and caused tightening and checks to itself, Token Enforcer and Blade Slayer.
Race 3 HILLCREST STAKES - C1 - 457 Ivals Folly ran inwards at the start and severely checked itself and Ultra Sting. Sudoku Solver changed ground outwards on the home turn when racing 4th and lost 2 lengths.
Race 4 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Tiodi and Kapai came together at the start with both being checked. Tiodi and Dreams Are Free came together after 20 mtrs with both being checked. Awesome Me galloped on hind quarters of Tiodi on the first turn with both being severely checked. Tiodi changed ground outwards on the bend when near the rear and checked itself and Kapai Roco with Dreams Are Free taking evasive action by running wide.
Race 5 GRANDVIEW SPORTS BAR DASH - C1 - 375 Delability reared as the boxes opened and lost 3 lengths. Entering the first turn Just Bank It moved inwards and caused tightening and severe checks to itself, Gray Way and Harmoneyes. A post race veterinary examination of Gray Way detected Bubba Hotep (H.S.Laagland). Injury to right gracilis muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 28 days to and including 15.08.06. Gray Way (W.Steele). Enteritis. Rule 82.1. 5 days to and including 25.07.06.
Race 6 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Ashbourne Falcon was boxed first due to a current 'hard to box' classification and was reported to box without difficulty. That Girl ran inwards sharply at the start and carted Indigo and Miss Summer Rose with it. This inward movement eventually resulted in a severe check to Blackrock Jules. Storm Safari (M.J.Lozell). Bilateral haemorrhage in both eyes. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days to and including 02.08.06.
Race 7 NEWSTEAD STAKES - C2 - 457 Hot Dickadee and Just A Drip were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Thrilling Monty moved off the rail and caused tightening to Just A Drip, Hot Dickadee, Augusta Allen and Mochaccino which were racing behind it. Augusta Allen changed ground outwards on the home turn when near the rear and lost momentum.
Race 8 CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR DASH - C3 - 375 A lack of racing room on the home turn and after straightening resulted in severe checks to Big Archie, Junior Time, Massachusetts and Richfield Reason.
Race 9 WAIKATO RACE PIX SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Mr Miargi raced very wide around the bend and covered a lot of extra ground to finish 5th. Mr Blackout (N.P.Green). Injury to left fore toe with medial damage to the collatoral ligament. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 30.07.06.
Race 10 T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C3/4 - 457 Ashbourne Boss and Sea Drifter came together for a stride at the start with both being checked slightly. Gentle Lee and Ash's Assassin raced very wide around the home turn.
Race 11 RACING HERE SUNDAY @ NOON - C3 - 457 Bee Pees Boy moved inwards shortly after the start and caused severe checks to itself, Plenty Of Dash, Not Waiting and Thrilling Buzz. Coach Purdon moved outwards shortly after the start and checked Killer Touch. Nearing the first turn Coach Purdon and Not Waiting jostled for several with both being checked. Entering the first turn Thrilling Buzz was tightened and made contact with the rail then rebounded off and severely checked itself and Bee Pees Boy which almost fell. A post race veterinary examination of Thrilling Buzz detected no injury.
