Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE DASH - C3 - 295 HOMEBUSH PHIL was slow to jump and when improving into the bend checked out off TUDOR QUEEN taking POWERFAST PATCH and ASTON ACE wide on the track. These dogs filled the last four placings.
Race 2 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY MAIDEN - C0 - 520 Into the first bend CLAN SPOOKY pulled up free of interference drifting out to finish a distant last. CLAN SPOOKY was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. WHIZZA BLUE (BR Healey) infected leg. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 22 July 2006. CLAN SPOOKY (JT McInerney) Rule 80.1.b. 28 days up to and including 10 August 2006.
Race 3 WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB DASH - HEAT 1 - C0q - 295 Heat 1 THAT VIRUS was slow to jump settling last. THAT VIRUS improved betweeen dogs into the bend and RUN LIKE GEORGE was tightened. Into the straight RUN LIKE GEORGE and BOTOX BARBIE came together when racing at the rear filling the last two placings.
Race 4 WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB - HEAT 2 - C0q - 295 Heat 1 AQUATIC TOUCH and CAPTAIN MCCAW were slow to jump. AQUATIC TOUCH ran on well for fourth with CAPTAIN MCCAW`well back. PIPER ANNE and HOMEBUSH JADE were checked around the bend losing ground. HOMEBUSH JADE ran on late for fifth with PIPER ANNE last.
Race 5 BILLS BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C0 - 520 CLAN BAILEY checked off the heels on MICHELLE'S BUDDY into the first bend. At the end of the back straight an improving MAURITIUS tightened TRINITY MAGIC who was subsequently struck by THRILLING BETTY. MAURITIUS ran on for fourth with the other two finishing at the rear.
Race 6 CONTAINERMAN SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 COLOUR WASH and WHATA OUTLOOK both suffered minor checks into the first bend dropping to the rear and filling the last two placings. COOL PILGRIM (M Grant) scratched at Christchurch GRC meeting on 12 July 2006. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 18 July 2006. GOOD GRACIOUS ME (J&D Fahey) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 9 August 2006. BLAZIN A TRAIL (C Mitchell) was a late scratching at kennelling with a bruised left gracilus. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 23 July 2006.
Race 7 CONTAINERMAN SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 ROCHDALE LAD and MOO MOO ME briefly came together at the end of the back straight drifting to the rear. ROCHDALE LAD ran on late for fifth with MOO MOO ME remaining in last placing.
Race 8 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND STAKES - C2 - 520 Into the first bend HOLA CHICA was tightened between dogs, sustaining a severe check with resultant checks to CLAN NOVA, CLAN MURDOCH and SMART THOMAS. CLAN MURDOCH ran on for fourth with the others at the rear.
Race 9 TRACKSIDE DINING NEXT FRIDAY STAKES - C0 - 520 NURSE RUBY ran outwards around the first bend tightening ANDREW'S MATE and HOMEBUSH NENETTE with MERCEDES HOPE being forced wide. Into the back straight MERCEDES HOPE and ANDREW'S MATE tangled for a number of strides losing all chance. MERCEDES HOPE ran on late for fifth with the other three finishing at the rear.
Race 10 DUAL CODE IN 3 HOURS DASH - C3 - 295 DISCO FEVER was slow to jump and when improving between dogs around the bend was checked losing all chance finishing near the rear.
Race 11 MASTERFOODS SPRINT - C4/5 - 295 SPECIAL DOONS was slow to jump from the inside box settling a clear last. Into the bend SPECIAL DOONS, HOMEBUSH DOUG and CLAN ONYX were checked losing ground. Soon after YENDY'S TITLE was tightened between dogs and turning for home, she and SPECIAL DOONS came together with SPECIAL DOONS faultering, not finishing the event. Both SPECIAL DOONS and YENDY'S TITLE were subject to a post race veterinary check. SPECIAL DOONS was found to have fractured his right foreleg and was euthanased on humane grounds. YENDY'S TITLE was found to have a torn right hind web with a ten day stand down recommended. SPECIAL DOONS (JT McInerney) deceased. YENDY'S TITLE (LJ Waretini) right hind torn web. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 23 July 2006.
Race 12 CATERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C4 - 520 ACCORD and CONNECT were checked into the first bend losing all chance finishing at the rear. Into the back straight the favourite THRILLING JANE ran outwards checking KAKAMA. THRILLING JANE ran on late for second with KAKAMA near the rear. HOMEBUSH BUBBLES (JT McInerney) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 17 July 2006.
Race 13 KOLORFUL KANVAS DASH - C4/5 - 295 The favourite RUDI JEWEL drove to the lead into the bend clearing out to win easily. FASHION THIEF (J&D Fahey) general soreness. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 9 August 2006.
Race 14 NUTRI-ZING STAKES - C3 - 520 The favourite THRILLING KIM and MICRO LITE were tightened soon after the jump losing all chance. THRILLING KIM ran on for fifth with MICRO LITE last.
Race 15 INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD SPRINT FINAL - C2f - 295 During the stirup the lure failed. The lure was replaced and it again came to a halt down the back straight when tested. The club electrician found two breaks in the conductor rail one of which he repaired enabling the race to proceed. As a result the races on the remainder of the program were put back one race. During the race KIDICIA'S DREAM, AMAZING FANCY and CLAN MISTY were checked into the bend losing all chance filling the last three placings.
Race 16 BARRONS SUPPLIES SPRINT - C4 - 295 AWESOME ASTON ran out into the bend when vying for the lead tightening ZIGGY WAR CRY and CANDIAC BALE with ZIGGY WAR CRY coming back on HOMEBUSH JESSIE. ZIGGY WAR CRY ran on for second with the other two finishing midfield. CANDIAC BALE (Hart/ Taylor) fractured toes right hind. Rule 82.1. 28 days up to and including 10 August 2006.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C5 - 520 Into the back straight BRILLIANT HAND checked out off WINSOME GEM colliding with TOMMY LEE WHISKY. WINSOME GEM won easily with the other two finishing third and fourth respectively. WHISKY LODGE LAD (J McInerney) infected left fore toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 19 July 2006. JUST ROCKIN (J McInerney Jnr) right hock sprain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 25 July 2006. CLASSIC FLYER (R Adcock) was a late scratching at 8.55am with left wrist pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 23 July 2006.
Race 18 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ STAYERS CUP - HEAT 1 - C2dq - 732 Heat 1 THRILLING LARISA drove to the lead into the first bend running away to win easily. The favourite OIZDON SPICE settled at the rear and ran on fairly over the concluding stages for a distant second. BONNIE CREEK (G&S Hayden-Holmes) injury to right dew claw. Race 19 SOUTHERN TRUST NZ STAYERS CUP - HEAT 2 - C2dq - 732 Heat 1 RUBBLE and INDICATIVE tangled around the first bend settling at the rear. RUBBLE ran on very well late in the race to finish second with INDICATIVE finishing at the rear with SOAK IT UP who drifted out over the concluding stages.
Race 20 TRACKSIDE DINING 21/07 PH 338-6145 DASH - C4/5 - 295 MISSING FERN drifted to the rear after jumping finishing amongst the tailenders. WHATA BUY (BC Dann) right hind hock strain. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 9 August 2006. KIWI NIKO (JH Cleary) was a late scratching at kennelling when found lame in the left hock. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 68.26. 10 days up to and including 23 July 2006.
