Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Race 10. Trainer M.J.Lozell (Charlston Flash) was fined $50.00 (first offence) for an admiited breach of Rule 69.11 in that this greyhound was presented to race with a overweight variance of 1.3kg compared to it's previous race start on 29.06.06.

Automatic timing failures in Races 8 and 13 were discussed with the Timekeeper who has undertaken to fully investigate the matter with the Club in order to try and determine the fault.

Race 14. Following the running of this Race, Owner G.E.Harding (Thrilling Tear -first reserve) lodged two objections with the Secretary of the Club in accordance with Rules 91.2 and 91.1c.
The objections relate to the alleged exclusion of Thrilling Tear from Race 14 at today's race meeting and due to their actions an alleged breach of the rules of natural justice by GRNZ, and its Board, Chief Executive, Racing Manager and by the Waikato and Districts Greyhound Racing Club and it's Secretary.
Stewards opened and adjourned an Inquiry under Rule 38.1b without any evidence being presented in order to ascertain jurisdiction and then set a Hearing date.

Race 1 CAMBRIDGE HURDLE SERIES HEAT 3 - C1/2hq - 457 Heat 1 There was no 'head on' coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside. Ngapuhi Girl and Ngapuhi Wahine were the slowest to begin. Ngapuhi Wahine drifted to the rear after jumping the second hurdle, jumped hesitantly thereafter and never improved finishing a distant last.
Race 2 DINSDALE DASH - C0 - 375 I've Got Mail, Blackrock Jules and Night Nugget were the slowest to begin. Selkcahs Legend moved outwards and Lady Dot inwards at the start causing tightening and severe checks to themselves, Night Nugget, Bentley Beau (winner), Blackrock Jules and I've Got Mail. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to I've Got Mail, Selkcahs Legend, Lady Dot and Night Nugget all of which had their chances extinguished.
Race 3 MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 Clutters was the slowest to begin. Nutty Squirrel ran inwards at the start and checked Ashbourne Ford slightly. Take the Micky changed ground outwards on the first turn and lost 2 lengths as a result. Dreams Are Free ran very wide on the bend.
Race 4 BRUNTWOOD DASH - C1 - 375 Distinctly Roys and Montecito were the slowest to begin. Andwyn, Gray Way and Best Place (winner) came together at the start and were all checked.
Race 5 WAIKATO RACE PIX STAKES - C1 - 457 Gatlin Breeze was the slowest to begin. General tightening after 20 mtrs resulted in severe checks to Aria Allen, Ivals Folly (winner), Auditor's Folly, Sweet Secret and Kath. Nearing the first turn Aria Allen and Sweet Secret came together for several strides then on entering this turn Sweet Secret moved outwards slightly and hampered Gatlin Breeze momentarily. Aria Allen changed ground outwards on the bend and lost a length.
Race 6 TAMAHERE SPRINT - C1 - 375 Hypo Lomu jumped awkwardly, lost a length and recovered well to finish 2nd. Entering the first turn Lily Longlegs and Autumn Angel came together with both being checked slightly. Incidious was tightened and checked on the first turn when racing on the rail. Lily Longlegs moved outwards on the home turn and bumped Astro Sharrie. Cowboy Dreamer (K.W.Symes). Serious injury to chest muscle. No Vet certificate supplied. Trainer advised Stewards that this greyhound likely to be retired. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 30.07.06.
Race 7 T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C1/2 - 457 Augusta Allen and Just A Drip were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Glenmire moved inwards and tightened Miss Tonsberg and Royal Tap which were both checked.
Race 8 TAUWHARE SPRINT - C2/3 - 375 There was no 'head on' coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside. Homebush Lisa and Winsome Guy were the slowest to begin. Roulette Reason appeared to be tightened and checked between runners after 25 mtrs. Bullet Blue raced very wide around the entire bend and covered a lot of extra ground finishing last.
Race 9 KARAPIRO DISTANCE - C1/2d - 630 Nearing the turn out of the back straight Rivette Reason and Bet She Can jostled for several strides when racing at the rear then when entering this turn, Bet She Can moved inwards resulting in severe checks to both runners. They then came together on the home turn with Rivette Reason being checked again.
Race 10 NEWSTEAD SPRINT - C2 - 375 Awesome Hit moved outwards off the rail on the first turn and checked Charlston Flash. On the bend Awesome Hit clipped the heels of Quiver Lip which stumbled and dropped backwards into the path of Charlston Flash with both being severely checked and being put out of contention. Dreamaqueen changed ground outwards on the home turn when racing 3rd and lost 2 lengths. Hardern Thirst (B & L Craik). Severe dermatitis. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 14.07.06.
Race 11 CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR DASH - C3/4 - 375 Coruba Rush stumbled shortly after the start, lost 2 lengths then ran wide on the home turn to finish 7th.
Race 12 RACEWAY SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Charlston Kid was slow to begin and made up ground throughout to finish 3rd. Entering the first turn Rothvale Reason and Maxi The Taxi came together for a stride with Maxi The Taxi being checked slightly. On the bend Charlston Kid moved outwards and into the path of Hypoumunga which clipped the heels of Charlston Kid and fell heavily before regaining it's feet quickly and finishing last. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury.
Race 13 GRANDVIEW SPORTS BAR STAKES - C3 - 457 Plenty Of Dash, Stabila Boss, Thrilling Buzz and Tent Top were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Ashbourne Boss and Plenty Of Dash came together for two strides.
Race 14 DUAL CODE RACING HERE 13 JULY - C4/5 - 457 Thrilling Hubba was boxed first due to a current 'hard to box' categorisation and was observed and reported to box without difficulty. Gentle Lee was slow to begin. Sea Drifter moved outwards on the home turn and hampered Willandra Bale momentarily. Thrilling Hubba changed ground outwards on the home turn and checked itself finishing last.
