Judicial report: Weather: Showery P Freeman was fined $ 60-00 under Rule 88.1 when he admitted withdrawing ROYAL TAP from race 5 prior to the box draw when the dog was qualified to run. In reaching the penalty, some mitigating circumstances put forward by Mr Freeman were taken into account.

Race 2 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C2/3 - 305 DUSTY'S DIAMOND was very slow to begin and tailed the field throughout to finish in last place.
Race 3 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C2/3 - 520 The favourite HOMEBUSH GABBY was checked twice on the first bend and went back to last and never recovered, finishing in that position.
Race 4 HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1 - 520 All clear.
Race 5 THE RADIO WORKS - C3f - 520 The favourite THRILLING GUS was forced to race wide throughout but finished on well for 3rd placing. MANAWA NUI was checked on the final bend and dropped back to finish in last place. ROYAL TAP P.Freeman Rule 64 Qualified for the race but withdrawn before the box draw and stood down for 10 days to and including 26.06.06.
Race 6 NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES #20 FINAL - RESdf - 755 FRANNY HALL made contact with FLOSSY BOOTS on the last bend and dropped out to finish in last place. FRANNY HALL did appear to be tiring at the time of the contact.
Race 7 WANGANUI SECURITY - C5 - 305 AWESOME ASTON and PAPPILONG were scratched without penalty due to missing the Ferry crossing after a change in sailing time. The favourite NOVA KEROMA was checked in the first few strides when tightened between runners and was then denied a run and again checked on the final bend and finished in 5th place. AWESOME ASTON J.McInerney Rule 64.5 Scratched with a valid reason and no penalty imposed. PAPPILONG J.McInerney Rule 64.5 Scratched with a valid reason and no penalty imposed.
Race 8 VITA POWER-EXCEED - C4/5 - 520 IN DEFENCE moved out on the first turn and forced TEDDY HALL and KIWI ASSASSIN wide over extra ground. KIWI ASSASSIN recovered to finish 3rd with IN DEFENCE and TEDDY HALL finishing well back.
Race 9 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI - C2 - 305 PELICAN CREEK was slow to begin and tailed the field throughout to finish several lengths last. The dog was not galloping correctly and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a shoulder muscle injury. BANJO COUNTRY suffered a toe injury and was stood down for 21 days. PIC A PAC was handy to the first turn but was checked and lost several lengths and finished in 2nd last place. PELICAN CREEK G & S Hayden - Holmes Rule 82 Suffered a shoulder muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 02.07.06. BANJO COUNTRY B.Krebs Rule 82 Suffered a toe injury and stood down for 21 days to and including 13.07.06.
Race 10 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C3/4 - 305 TIMTAGEL STAR bumped WHAT PAVING onto WHATA SHAME on the home turn and pushed that runner wide.
