Another satisfactory trial was ordered. TIMMY VINE dropped out in the back straight and finished several lengths last and the Vets examination revealed a toe injury and a 14 days stand down was ordered. Race 2 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C0 - 305 JO BLOGGS was scratched due to injury. TEENY WEENY was scratched due to injury. P.Taylor the Trainer of WESTONAIR was fined $ 50-00 when presenting the dog 1.1 kilograms underweight. WOFTAMS TIP and TUGS TIP collided on the first turn, lost ground and finished well back. Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE - C1 - 520 THRILLING DELPHI was scratched due to injury. THRILLING FLOJO and NOOKYS WINK collided soon after the start and settled at the rear and stayed well back. Race 7 WANGANUI SECURITY - C4 - 305 ILLEGITIMATE began very awkwardly and settled at the rear. FANTASY SHIFTER was tightened on the first corner, dropped back and was galloped on by ILLEGITIMATE and they lost several lengths and finished at the rear.
Race 8 VITA POWER-EXCEED - C4/5 - 520 HOMEBUSH GORDON was scratched due to injury. TOUCH OF SMOKEY ran in from the start and crowded WIND SURFER and STAUNCH for a few strides and they settled well back. HOMEBUSH GORDON M.McDonnell Rule 64 Suffering from bicep muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 28.06.06.
Race 9 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI - C3 - 305 FOUR SQUARE who was racing at the rear, ran into the back of LISSADELL PRINCE on the first turn and they both lost ground and eventually finished well back.
Race 10 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C5 - 305 BIG BAD EDNA was a late scratching due to a tail injury discovered shortly before start time. GLITZY OPAL moved across on the first corner and checked THRILLING DELTA and WINCHESTER MISS who dropped back quickly and checked MICHALAC. They never recovered and filled the last three places. BIG BAD EDNA D.Gough Rule 68 A late scratching due to a tail injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 05.07.06.
