Judicial report: Weather: Fine / cold. The automatic timing system malfunctioned in several of the 375 mtr races although hand timing was used as a back up. The Photo Finish operator / Timekeeper and Club have undertaken to fully investigate the reoccurring problem prior to the next race meeting on 15.06.06.

Race 1 WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE DASH - C1 - 375 Steelagift slipped prior to jumping at the start, lost 6 lengths and never improved thereafter finishing last. Spyridon Louis reared at the start and lost 2 lengths. Spyridon Louis galloped on the heels of and severely checked Colonel Hogan on the first turn then changed ground outwards. Nikkei changed ground outwards on the home turn when racing 3rd and lost 2 lengths finishing 4th.
Race 2 MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 Ivals Folly, Maggy Jay, Riconiak, Gatlin Ghost and Cheeky Darky were marginally slow to begin. Maggy Jay (fav and winner) and Sun Of Jonelle came together and were slightly checked twice between the start and the first turn. Riconiak raced wide for much of the journey.
Race 3 DINSDALE TAVERN DASH - C0 - 375 Ashbourne Ford and That Bloke were the slowest to begin. On the home turn Bright Token (fav and last) and Ashbourne Falcon came together with both being checked. Bright Token then changed ground outwards and clipped the heels of Ashbourne Falcon. Giggilo Gee Jay ran wide off the rail on the home turn. Shortly after entering the home straight Call Me Loyal moved outwards and collided with the hind quarters of Bright Token with both runners being severely checked. Giggilo Gee Jay was also severely checked as a result of the backwash from this incident. A post race veterinary examination of Giggilo Gee Jay detected no injury. Lily Longlegs (winner) raced wide throughout.
Race 4 GRANDVIEW SPORTS BAR STAKES - C2/3 - 375 Glenmire and Big Archie were the slowest to begin. Marissa Bale (winner) and Lady Tandia came together for a stride at the start. Velvot Revolver and Stabila Boss came together on the first turn with Stabila Boss being checked. Velvot Revolver came together for a stride on the home turn.
Race 5 TAMAHERE STAKES - C1 - 457 Ultra Sting was the slowest to begin. Harmoneyes and Astro Sharrie came together twice nearing the first turn. Hypo Lomu moved inwards sharply to the rail entering the first turn and severely checked Harmoneyes, Astro Sharrie and Cowboy Dreamer. Hot Dickadee moved inwards to the rail when leading on the first turn and checked Bee Pees Boy (winner) slightly. Booming Time (J.R.Udy). Metabolic acidosis. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 09.06.06. Augusta Allen (G.N.Pomeroy) Club scratching due selection error. No penalty.
Race 6 RACEWAY SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Maxi The Taxi (fav and 7th) stumbled at the start and lost 4 lengths. Nearing the first turn Big Nate Banner ran inwards sharply, carted Exceptional Kola with it and then caused severe checks to itself, Hypoumunga and Exceptional Kola as a result.
Race 7 T.A.B. PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C2/3 - 457 Gentle Lee and Plenty Of Dash were the slowest to begin. Tent Top and Plenty Of Dash came together for a stride after the start. Ashbourne Boss and Victory Chant came together and were checked three times between the start and the first turn. Tent Top clipped the heels of Ashbourne Boss on the first turn. Victory Chant raced very wide from the first turn onwards. Indefinite (S.C.Mann). Swollen and sore right gracilis muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 08.06.06.
Race 8 RACING @ CAMBRIDGE 15 JUNE - C4/5 - 457 Sonny Bill Allen and Charlston State were the slowest to begin. He's Off ran inwards at the start and checked Big Bad Stefano (fav and winner) Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in checks to Big Bad Stefano, He's Off and Rothvale Reason. Rothvale Reason clipped the heels of Spring Storm on the home turn and checked itself as a result.
