Two inquiries opened and adjourned into irregularities in relation to number rugs on dogs in races 8 and 9.

Race 1 METEOR PRINTERS - C2 - 305 SUPER DEAL was scratched ex Auckland on 21.05.06. The favourite TOKEN DIAMOND was away well but then jostled with MR GULLIVER in the race to the first corner, dropped back and was galloped on by FOUR SQUARE and lost several lengths and finished in last place. TOKEN DIAMOND was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with fore and hind toe lacerations. SUPER DEAL Ex Auckland on 21.05.06. TOKEN DIAMOND P.Freeman Rule 82 Suffered from fore and hind toe lacerations and stood down for 10 days to and including 02.06.06.
Race 2 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C0 - 520 BLUE WATCH moved in from the start and dictated the line of THRILLING DELPHI who checked OPAWA HONEY. OPAWA HONEY was then checked twice on the first bend, dropped back several places and finished well back.
Race 3 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C1 - 305 BIGTIME NIPPA and ARANUI TAMY collided on the home turn when racing well back in the field and they filled the last two places.
Race 4 HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1 - 520 THRILLING JEN was scratched due to injury. STARLIGHT WOODS eased up on the home turn and finished a long last .STARLIGHT WOODS was cleared of injury and was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b i and is required to trial under Rule 81.1 before its next start. THRILLING JEN A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from a hock injury and was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 26.05.06. STARLIGHT WOODS B.Melville Rule 80.1 b i Failed to persue and stood down for 28 days to and including 20.06.06. Required to trial under Rule 81.1.
Race 5 THE RADIO WORKS - C3 - 305 WHAT PAVING moved out on the first corner and crowded SAILAH JAYNE and HOMEBUSH LEGEND. SAILAH JAYNE'S muzzle caught up in the rug of HOMEBUSH LEGEND which caused both to lose more ground and along with WHAT PAVING, they finished in the last three places. GASMAN was the slowest away but recovered to finish in 3rd place.
Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE - C2 - 520 GENTLE LEE moved out from thestart and checked JUST A DRIP and ARANUI SPEEDY and they were last into the first corner and never recovered, staying back throughout.
Race 7 VITA POWER-EXCEED - C0d - 645 BINTANG BERT, STAUNCH and ROYAL TAP were all checked soon after the start and settled well back. ROYAL TAP recovered to finish 2nd but the other two finished at the rear.
Race 8 MICKEY'S SUPER LIQUOR - C3 - 520 The 2nd placed dog FLAMING PRINCE raced minus the number rug and after making enquiries into the matter, an inquiry was opened and adjourned until Friday 26.05.06 to enable further inquiries to be made. FLIPPITY JIBBIT moved in from the start and checked DALLAS MAJOR and THRILLING DREAM and all three settled back and stayed there.
Race 9 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI - C5 - 305 JANE DOE was scratched ex Wanganui on 19.05.06. REAL SILENCE was scratched due to injury. NOBLE OSTI went to the start with the incorrect number on and the start was delayed 2 minutes while this was rectified. An inquiry into the matter was opened and adjourned until Friday 26.05.06 also to enable further inquiries to be made. NOBLE OSTI was checked in the race to the first corner, settled in last place and never improved. JANE DOE EX Wanganui on 19.05.06. REAL SILENCE A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from a sesamoid injury and was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 26.05.06. NOBLE OSTI Garrett & Parata Rule 82 Suffered a tendon injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 30.05.06.
Race 10 WWW.RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ - C4 - 305 WINSOME TODD was scratched due to injury. RUSTY ROVER was tightened and checked on the first turn, went back to near the rear and never recovered. WINSOME TODD W.T.Hodgson Rule 64 Suffering from a webbing injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 16.06.06.
