Race 8. During the parade of runners to the 457 mtr starting point it was observed by the Stewards and reported later by the Parade Official that S.Blackburn, the Handler of Mo Mistress (J.B.Hastie), was having extreme difficulty controlling this greyhound. Consequently when the parade line was stopped momentarily upon instruction by the Parade Official near where the stationary lure was positioned, the greyhound pulled S.Blackburn across the track and attacked the lure until control was regained. Having spoken with S.Blackburn and J.B.Hastie after the race and considering all relevant factors, Stewards advised Mr Hastie under Rule 71.5 that an alternative Handler is required for Mo Mistress's future racing engagements. In addition the Parade Official has been advised to avoid stopping the parades within close proximity to the lure if possible. Mr Hastie's suggestion that the lure be covered / hidden from the view of greyhounds parading past it has been referred to the Club and GRNZ for consideration.
