Judicial report: Weather: Showery Trainer R.P.O'Regan was fined a total of $100.00 due to an admitted breach of Rule 69.11 in relation to 1.2kg under weight variances for both Davron Express (Race 2) and Shiraz Vine (Race 8) compared to their previous race starts on 27.04.06.
************
Race 5. On the turn out of the back straight Entrepreneur (D.Schofield) was observed to ease in stride and turn it's head outwards towards Hardern Thirst which was racing on it's outer. Stewards considered a charge under Rule 80.1(b) prior to seeking a veterinary examination of this runner (in accordance with Rule 80.2) and were subsequently advised by the Officiating Veterinary Surgeon that the injury sustained would require a 21 day stand down from racing. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised Stewards that in his opinion the injury detected was very likely to have caused the racing manners of Entrepreneur and the incident in question. Taking this into account and the relevance of Rule 80.3, Stewards were required to impose Rule 80.5 which includes the prescribed injury stand down and a Satisfactory Trial to be completed under Rule 81. It is important to note that there was no 'head on' video coverage of this incident available.
