Judicial report: Weather: Fine Race 8. Trainer, K.W.Symes (Sable Gold) was questioned regarding the performance of this runner which finished a distant last. Mr Symes advised the Stewards that he felt that the 779 mtr distance was to far for the greyhound and that it would not race over that distance again. His comments were noted.

Race 1 NORTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH DASH - C0 - 318 This race was rescheduled to start 3 minutes later by TAB Trackside. Night Nugget was very slow to begin. Catch A virus, Bradbree Lass, Bright Token and Giggilo Gee Jay came together at the start with all being checked. Nearing the first turn Watch My Freckle and Forest Knight came together with both being checked. Watch My Freckle then drifted back through the field and severely checked Catch A Virus.
Race 2 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DISTANCE FEATURE - C1/2d - 603 This race was rescheduled to start 7 minutes later by TAB Trackside. Rialto Reason, Kola's Glory and Kaimai Gold were the slowest to begin. Nearing the home turn Kaimai Gold and Kola's Glory came together for a stride with Kola's Glory being checked slightly. Rogan Reason (B & L Craik). Torn gracilis. No Vet certificate supplied.( Advice received from Trainer's representative on-course that retirement probable). Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 03.06.06.
Race 3 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C4 - 318 General tightening after 30 mtrs resulted in severe checks to Kiwi Fire, Full Of Flare (fav and 7th), Jimmytheone, Origin Teddy and Danny Hand. Entering the first turn Origin Teddy and Jimmytheone came together for a stride. Charlston Chill when vying for the lead on the bend moved to a wider running position on the track, lost valuable ground and ran on again for 3rd. Full Of Flare and Danny Hand came together for a stride in the home straight. Thrilling Mike (K.Walsh) Sore right fibula. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 16.05.06.
Race 4 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Time Solves was the slowest to begin. Warnie and My Charlston came together for a stride after 30 mtrs with My Charlston being severely checked and Warnie to a lesser degree. Entering the first turn Cawbourne Patch and Parra Power came together checking Coruba Rush which was racing behind them. Leaving the back straight Warnie which was leading moved inwards to the rail cutting off and checking Big Sam Junior (fav and winner) slightly. A post race veterinary examination of Cawbourne Patch detected an injury requiring a 14 day stand down from racing. Cawbourne Patch (D.Schofield). Left dorsal medial elbow skin wound, superficial grazes and small wound below left eye. Rule 82.1. 14 days to and including 20.05.06.
Race 5 'BRAD'S BIRTHDAY BASH' SPRINT FEATURE - C5 - 318 Tarrah, Comical Ali and Nasty Streak were the slowest to begin. Spring Storm (L.P.Joyce). Biceps femoris tendinitis (distal) on right hind leg. Also sore when left foot was flexed. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 15.05.06. Osbourne (J.B.Hastie). Rule 82.1 ex Waikato GRC on 04.05.06. Kiwi Fire (C.J.Derecourt). Drawn (first reserve) in error by NZGRA. Started in Race 3.
Race 6 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C2 - 527 Homebush Goliath was the slowest to begin. Virtuoso, Miss Woody Cooka, Shooshla and Royal Tap came together in general tightening after 25 mtrs with all being checked. Entering the first turn Zambora Kezman moved inwards and severely checked Awesome Hit which was twisted into the path of Zambora Kezman, Virtuoso, Royal Tap and Miss Woody Cooka which were all severely checked. Shooshla was also checked and forced wide in this incident. Zambora Kezman changed ground outwards in the home straight and lost 2 lengths.
Race 7 PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD DASH - C3 - 318 Little Toot and Kola's Express came together for a stride at the start with Little Toot being checked. Sue Van Gill and Poetical came together for a stride nearing the first turn with Poetical being checked. Kola's Express drifted to the rear after 50 mtrs, appeared to have difficulty negotiating the bends and never improved finishing a distant last. A post race veterinary examination detected an injury requiring a 21 day stand down from racing. Sue Van Gill changed ground in the home straight and lost 2 lengths. Kola's Express (N.P.Green). Torn gracilis muscle. Rule 82.1. 21 days to and including 27.05.06.
Race 8 NEW ZEALAND RACING SERIES FINAL #17 - RESdf - 779 Sable Gold and Under Time were the slowest to begin. Dinah Washington and Thrilling Larisa (winner) came together for a stride at the start. Thrilling Match, Dinah Washington and Thrilling Larisa jostled for several strides prior to the first turn. Sable Gold ran very wide on the first turn and covered a lot of extra ground. Dinah Washington (3rd) was tightened and checked on the first turn. Blue Fern (fav and 5th) ran very wide and covered a lot of extra on the turn into the hone straight on the first round. Under Time when handy, changed ground outwards entering the back straight on the final round and lost 3 lengths. Bet She Can was hampered slightly in the home straight on the finishing round. A post race veterinary examination of Sable Gold detected no injury (refer Judicial).
Race 9 OXY-SHOT NEW ZEALAND LTD DASH - C1/2 - 318 Thrilling Flynn was the slowest to begin then changed ground outwards in the home straight when running 3rd, lost 2 lengths then rallied well to hold that placing. Farmer Benson was hampered slightly in this incident. General tightening after 30 mtrs resulted in checks of varying degrees to all runners except Ina Tizzy. First Sample and Rumpole came together for a stride entering the first turn. Token Diamond (P.B.Freeman). Rule 68.26. Ex Wanganui GRC on 04.05.06. Suitability (J & L Nixon). Torn right deep pectoral muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 10 days to and including 14.05.06.
Race 10 WWW.AGRC.CO.NZ STAKES - C1 - 527 Killer Touch was the slowest to begin. Astro Sharrie, Bee Pees Boy and Thrilling John came together for a stride at the start. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in Astro Sharrie galloping on the hind quarters of Bee Pees Boy with both being severely checked. Subsequent interference from this incident caused severe checks to Criteria, Killer Touch and Thrilling John. Killer Touch when running 2nd on the home turn changed ground outwards, lost 3 lengths and rallied well to hold that placing.
Race 11 'WE RACE WEDNESDAY 10TH MAY' STAKES - C0 - 527 Sudoku Solver and Delability were the slowest to begin then became entangled after 10 mtrs with Delability almost falling, losing all chance and finishing in last placing. A post race veterinary examination of Delability detected no injury.
Race 12 SUDSRELLA LAUNDRY DASH - C1 - 318 Mr Miargi (winner) was the slowest to begin. Tempest Lass and Positive Force (fav and 6th) came together after 25 mtrs with both being checked slightly. Tempest Lass was cut off and checked slightly by Last Timbah on the first turn. Tempest Lass ran very wide on the home turn and carted Homebush Heather with it for several strides.
