Judicial report: Weather: Fine / cool Race 3. The trainer of Nutty Squirrel, A Cleaver admitted a breach of Rule 69.11 and was fined $50.00 (first offence) for a 1.1kg overweight variance of this greyhound from the previous race start (35.5kg) on 28.04.06.

Race 9. The co-trainer of Rochdale Lass, K.Thompson was questioned regarding this greyhound's recent performances and he advised that the intention is to retire the greyhound forthwith.

Stabila Boss and Togetherness came together entering the first turn with Togetherness being severely checked. These runners came together again for a stride on the bend. Race 2 | MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 | Ultra Sting (fav and winner) was the slowest to begin. Homebush Eagle and Kapai Roco came together for a stride at the start. Maggy Jay and Homebush Eagle came together for a stride after 50 mtrs with Maggy Jay being checked. A post race veterinary examination of Kapai Rita detected an injury requiring a 21 day stand down from racing. Kapai Rita (K.L.Fairbrother). Strained right triceps muscle, pain on palpation. Rule 82.1. 21 days up to and including 24.05.06. |
Race 3 | CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT FINAL - C0f - 375 | Killer Touch and Just Bank It were the slowest to begin. Ray Reeb galloped on the hind quarters of Night Nugget on the first turn with both being severely checked. Night Nugget and Killer Touch came together for a stride on the bend. San Shin raced very wide throughout and covered a lot of extra ground to finish 6th. Thrilling Jen (A.Udy). Withdrawn after qualifying fo this Final and prior to the box draw. Race 4 | BRUNTWOOD SPRINT - C1/2 - 375 | Glenmire and Gunna Flex (fav and 6th) were the slowest to begin. Super Deal, Gunna Flex and Main Journey came together at the start with all being slightly checked. Entering the first turn Gunna Flex and Main Journey came together with both being checked. |
Race 5 | DINSDALE TAVERN STAKES - C3/4 - 457 | Rowland Reason was the slowest to begin. Buddy Hand ran inwards at the start and checked Ridley Reason (winner) and Hello Awesome (fav and 6th). Hello Awesome was held up and checked slightly on the home turn when at the rear. |
Race 6 | IMPROVERS DASH - C1 - 375 | Hypo Lomu was the slowest to begin. Maxine's Beauty (winner) ran inwards at the start and checked Dreamaqueen (fav and 2nd). Entering the first turn Hypo Lomu and Last Timbah came together with both being checked. Shortly after Mr Miargi endeavoured to move outwards off the running rail resulting in severe checks to itself, Hypo Lomu and Nikkei. Nikkei recovered very well and ran on strongly for 3rd. |
Race 7 | RACEWAY SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 | Charlston Kid (winner) was the slowest to begin. Nearing the first turn Dyna Ropati and Hypoumunga came together for a stride. Osbourne drifted to the rear on the first turn and never improved thereafter finishing a distant last. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected an injury requiring a 30 day stand down from racing. Osbourne (J.B.Hastie). Torn gracilis muscle. Race 8 | T.A.B. PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C4/5 - 457 | Mo Mistress jumped awkwardly. Flash Shooter when leading, moved outwards slightly on the home turn and checked Prince Flex. Freddy Magic (fav) raced wide throughout and ran on strongly for 2nd. |
Race 9 | TAMAHERE STAKES - C1 - 457 | Sable Gold and Criteria (3rd) were the slowest to begin. Augusta Allen and Rochdale Lass came together after 30 mtrs. Entering the first turn Bee Pees Boy moved outwards and severely checked Augusta Allen and Certainly. Rochdale Lass was inconvenienced slightly in this incident. A post race veterinary examination of Rochdale Lass detected an injury requiring a 21 day stand down from racing. Rochdale Lass (Reed / Thompson). Haematoma over left ribs.
