Race 1 METEOR PRINTERS - C1 - 520 LATASHA was in or near the lead on the first corner but eased quickly and went back to last and finished well back. LATASHA was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b i and is required to undergo a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1 before next starting again. THOMAS THE TANK and ARANUI FLASH were checked entering the back straight, lost several lengths and finished well back. FORTIFIED HOPE weighed in 1.1 kilograms overweight and the Trainers were fined $ 50-00 under Rule 88.1 for a breach of Rule 69.11 LATASHA A.Hall Rule 80.1 b i Failed to persue and stood down for 28 days to and including 10.05.06 and required to trial under Rule 81.1.
Race 2 HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1/2 - 305 RALPH and BIGTIME JIM were checked on the first corner, went back to the rear and finished well back.
Race 3 MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C5 - 305 N.Clark was fined $ 20-00 for late kennelling. LADY BRIANA and VITA LASS were slow to begin and finished well back. The winner AZTEC KEROMA broke the track record.
Race 4 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI - C2/3 - 520 This event was started 2 minutes late at the request of race day control. The favourite THRILLING SALLY was checked and lost ground on the first corner and never recovered the lost ground. SEA DRIFTER was checked on the first bend but recovered and won the race.
Race 5 THE RADIO WORKS - C5 - 520 One of the favourites EXCEPTIONAL KOLA was slow away and was then checked on the first corner and was last around the first bend. He then began to make up ground but was checked on the final bend and finished well back.
Race 6 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C1/2 - 520 HOMEBUSH BEE was checked and fell heavily entering the back straight and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. SMILER was reported to have a pad injury and was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days. SMILER J.McArthur Rule 82 Suffered a pad injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 17.04.06.
Race 7 WANGANUI CLASSIC FINAL - R/Af - 520 THRILLING SASSY ran out on the first corner and forced THRILLING NEWTON very wide over extra ground. THRILLING JESS was checked on the last bend and finished well back.
Race 8 VITA POWER-EXCEED - C3/4 - 305 One of the favourites WINSOME TODD began very awkwardly, lost several lengths and all chance. SEXY ASSASSIN moved across from box 7 and caused jostling and checks to RUSTY ROVER, BEST TELL BRIAN, NOWHERE TO RUN and HOMEBUSH LEO.
Race 9 WANGANUI VET SERVICES - C1/2 - 305 EXODUS was away well but was checked on the first corner, lost several lengths and tailed the field home.
Race 10 WWW.RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ - C3 - 305 JIMMYTHEONE was checked and fell on the first corner, was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. ROLLEN D.Macauley Rule 64 A late scratching due to gastroenteritis and stood down for 10 days to and including 22.04.06.
