Race 1 METEOR PRINTERS DASH - C2/3 - 305 CATERING KING was handy to the bend but was galloped on by THRILLING FLYNN and dropped back quickly to finish in last place. CATERING KING was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 2 HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1 - 520 The favourite THRILLING FLOJO drew box 8 and ran wide over extra ground throughout to finish in 4th place. BIG PADDY broke down when challenging for the lead on the final bend and dropped out to finish a long last. BIG PADDY was examined by the Vet, found to have a fractured hock and was euthanased. BIG PADDY M & A Sutton Rule 82 Suffered a fractured hock and was euthanased.
Race 3 MICKEY'S SUPER LIQUOR - C0 - 305 SPICE AGE was scratched due to kennel cough. ICY BIGGLES and CALM ILLUSION were the slowest away and then collided soon after the start. CALM ILLUSION recovered to win but ICY BIGGLES then collided with HIGHMOR SURPRISE on the first corner and they finished well back. KERRY GLEN led on the bend but was galloped on by IRON WOMAN, lost momentum and then recovered to finish a close 2nd. SPICE AGE A & S Frost Rule 64 Suffering from kennel cough and stood down for 10 days to and including 08.04.06
Race 4 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI DASH - C2 - 305 WINCHESTER MISS was handy into the bend but was crowded by ROLLEN and lost several lengths and the chance of a placing.
Race 5 THE RADIO WORKS - C1/2 - 520 TARTAN FLYER began awkwardly, settled in last place and finished in that position.
Race 6 WANGANUI VET SERVICES DASH - C4/5 - 305 The programme was put back one race after a bank of seven lights on the final bend failed and the Clubs Electrician was summoned to repair the fault. KINAWHATA FLYER was handy on the bend but was checked as HOMEBUSH LEO moved to the rail and was then galloped on by NOWHERE TO RUN and then by LISSADELL PRINCE and KINAWHATA FLYER dropped back quickly to last and stayed there.
Race 7 VITA POWER-EXCEED DASH - C5 - 305 WORLD BANK and NOBLE OSTI jostled together for several strides in the race to the first corner and lost ground.
Race 8 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C5 - 520 RUSHED AFFAIR was checked soon after the start, again on the first corner and again entering the back straight and he dropped out to finish several lengths last. RUSHED AFFAIR was examined by the Vet, found to have a fractured hock and was euthanased. RUSHED AFFAIR W.Kite Rule 82 Suffered a fractured hock and was euthanased.
Race 9 KEENAN CONCRETE - C3/4 - 520 THRILLING SALLY began awkwardly and lost ground. HOMEBUSH THORN was away well but was checked on the first turn, went quickly back to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 10 WWW.RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ DASH - C1 - 305 UNO EYES LUCKY was scratched ex Manawatu on 30.03.06. HOMEBUSH LEGEND was a late scratching due to a cut foot. MAGIC EBONY was handy to the first corner but was galloped on by LEGAL EDITION and went back to last. HOMEBUSH DIESEL was also affected in the incident and they filled the last three places at the finish. UNO EYES LUCKY Ex Manawatu on 30.03.06. ( now deceased ) HOMEBUSH LEGEND M.Clark Rule 68 A late scratching due to a foot injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 04.04.06.
