Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Rain Race 2. Following the collapse and demise of More Gold in the catching area at the conclusion of this race the Stewards requested the Officiating Veterinary Surgeon to examine the greyhound however he was unable to determine the cause of death at the time and therefore was requested to complete an autopsy at his clinic under Rule 84.This was conducted in the presence of K Coutts, Assistant Steward and a written report will be provided to the Stewards.
***********
Race 3. Trainer M.P.Mann was fined $100.00 (second offence) under Rule 69.11 for the 1.1kg overweight of Bevron Road.
***********
Race 5. Trainer G.Calverley was questioned regarding the performance of Nadal (7th). Mr Calverley stated that he thought the greyhound would be better suited to a C2 race rather than Restricted Age, the class of todays race and in his opinion the greyhound was putting itself out of contention by being consistently slow to begin. His comments were noted.
***********
An investigation opened by Stewards on 26.02.06 under Rule 38.1(b) in relation to alleged offensive language used by Trainer S.C.Mann towards Trainer C.Derecourt at the AGRC race meeting held on 26.02.06 resulted in an official complaint being lodged with the Stewards by C.Derecourt on 09.03.06.
Following further discussion with both parties in relation to all aspects including witness availability and a willingness by Mr Mann and Mrs Derecourt to resolve the matter, Stewards sought to conduct a meeting between Mr Mann and Mrs Derecourt at today's race meeting. This mediation resulted in Mr Mann apologising to Mrs Derecourt who accepted his apology and withdrew her complaint. Stewards advised Mr Mann that should he come before them again on any matter in relation to Rules 88.1(o) or 88.1(q) that charges will result.
************
The Officiating Veterinary Surgeon was Brendan Hickman.
************
Race day Official B.Henwood was advised of his required involvement in relation to swabbing procedures.
