Race 1 METEOR PRINTERS - C0 - 305 WESTONAIR was scratched ex Wanganui on 23.03.06 ICY BIGGLES and SKATEBOARD were slow to begin and ICY BIGGLES then ran very wide on the bend over extra ground and they both finished well back. CAYOTE BOY tended to run wide and hampered the eventual winner BIGTIME DALLAS in the back straight and around the bend. CAYOTE BOY then lost ground when checking over the heels of BIGTIME DALLAS as that runner went ahead. WESTONAIR was scratched Ex Wanganui on 23.03.06.
Race 2 HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1 - 520 All clear.
Race 3 MICKEY'S SUPER LIQUOR - C2 - 520 S.Drysdale the Trainer of COCKNEY ASSASSIN was fined $ 50-00 after presenting the dog 1.5 kilograms overweight. THRILLING BLUE was handy to the first corner but was galloped on by HOMEBUSH GOLIATH, lost ground and the chance of a placing.
Race 4 TOTAL SPAN WANGANUI - C0 - 305 CONWAY KID and JO BLOGGS were scratched ex Wanganui on 23.03.06. FOUR MEMORIES was slow to begin but made ground well for 3rd place. LONDON BOBBY was checked and lost ground on the bend. CONWAY KID was scratched Ex Wanganui on 23.03.06. JO BLOGGS was scratched Ex Wanganui on 23.03.06.
Race 5 THE RADIO WORKS - C1 - 305 UNO EYES LUCKY moved in soon after the start and checked MAGIC EBONY, VOO DOO and SECRET PRINCE who lost ground. SECRET PRINCE and VOO DOO collided on the home turn, became off balance and ran wide losing ground.
Race 6 WANGANUI OPEN - C5 - 520 BUCK'S REWARD was away well and handy on the first corner but was jostled for several strides, dropped back and then struck the rail. BUCK'S REWARD was never in contention for a placing after those incidents. ANTONI BEE was galloped on on the final bend, went back to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 7 VITA POWER-EXCEED - C5 - 305 BEST TELL PIE collided with SPRING STORM on the first corner and lost ground. On the bend, BEST TELL PIE was hindered when ROLE MODEL ran wide and they eventually finished in the last two places.
Race 8 DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C4/5 - 520 TIME SOLVES clipped the heels of KOLA'S GLORY starting the last bend when they were leading the field and they lost momentum for a few strides.
Race 9 KEENAN CONCRETE - C4 - 305 AULD SON was checked back to last soon after the start and then ran wide on the bend and finished in last place. WHATA SHAME was checked on the bend when challenging for the lead and went back onto LISSADELL PRINCE and they finished well back.
Race 10 DIMOCKS FURNITURE COURT - C2 - 305 DARK SENSATION, WINSOME TODD and TYRONES AWESOME came together and jostled soon after the start with the favourite TYRONES AWESOME settling at the rear. He then raced wide on the track covering extra ground and finished in last place. BUSTER KEATON galloped on the back of EXODUS on the bend and dropped back onto BANJO COUNTRY. All three lost ground and any chance of a placing.
