Judicial report: Weather: Overcast / warm Race 7. Zambora Kezman (D.van Meeuwen) a recent import from Australia was scratched by Stewards under Rule 38.3 (L) on 21.03.06 following discussions with the Trainer, GRNZ and GRV. Confirmation was received that this greyhound is currently serving a 3 month suspension (all tracks) and completion of a Satisfactory Trial requirement ex a race meeting held at Ballarat, Victoria on 11 Jan 2006 with the suspension not expiring until 11 April 2006.
Stewards also received confirmation that the suspension was not notified to GRNZ by GRV on the transfer documentation received resulting in all parties in NZ not receiving formal advice of the suspension.

Race 7. Following the running of this race the Stewards delayed giving the 'All Clear' in order to review the lure distance (Rule 75) from the leading greyhound approximately half way along the home straight. The actual lure distance could not be ascertained from the video coverage available however it was evident that neither the leading greyhound Victory Chant nor any other runner were inconvenienced or changed stride in any way. The margins for the race were 4 1/4 lengths x 1 3/4 lengths x 4 lengths.
The Lure Driver (Erena Koroheke) was questioned regarding the incident and it was established that an irregularity had occurred. The Stewards accepted the explanation on this occasion.

Blade Slayer was hampered in this incident. |

| Race 5 | WAIKATO DISTANCE SERIES HEAT - C2dq - 747 Heat 1 | This race started 3 mins late due to a harness amateur drivers race delaying greyhound access to the track. Shining Comet, Prince Toshack and Oizdon Spice (fav and 5th) were the slowest to begin. Shining Comet was tightened and drifted to the rear after 40 mtrs then ran on strongly in the home straight for 4th. Rubble ran wide on the first turn covering extra ground. |

Big Nate Banner and Thrilling Buzz came together after 40 mtrs with both being checked slightly. Nearing the first turn Thrilling Neo endeavoured to extract itself from a tight position on the rail and caused severe checks to itself, Greatwhite (fav and 7th) and Gunna Flex. |

Buddy Hand ran inwards after 40 mtrs and severely checked itself and Rowland Reason. Entering the first turn Richfield Reason moved inwards and checked itself and Thrilling Hubba (fav and last). | Race 8 | RACEWAY SPRINT - C5 - 375 | Charlston Kid and World Bank were the slowest to begin. Pastrana Bale and Maxi The Taxi (fav and 4th) came together at the start. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in checks to Maxi The Taxi, Flash Shooter, Hypoumunga and Pastrana Bale. On the first turn Charlston Kid clipped the heels of and checked Bob Allen. World Bank ran very wide on the home turn when near the rear. Wild Kentucky and Bob Allen came together on the home turn with both being checked slightly. |
| Race 9 | NZ DERBY - HEAT 5 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | This race started 2 mins late due to a novelty harness race delaying greyhound access to the track. Nearing the first turn Not Waiting appeared to falter, lose focus and was always a distant last thereafter. A post race veterinary examination detected an injury requiring a 30 day stand down from racing. Not Waiting (L.Jensen). Restriction and resentment on flexion of right carpus.
