Judicial report: Weather: Fine MULBERRY TRUMP a starter in Race 2 weighed in 1.7kgs under her last race weight as shown in the racebook. Inquiries established her last race weight to be 23.4kgs and not 25.4kgs as recorded.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE STAKES - C4 - 520 LIGHT POCKETS settled last after the jump. Into the bend NIRIMBA ASSASSIN was tightened between dogs losing ground. Soon after TRINITY TRANCE struck the hindquarters of UNIQUE MAGGIE both sustaining bad checks. They never recovered finishing at the rear with NIRIMBA ASSASSIN. LIGHT POCKETS ran on late for fourth.
Race 2 HAMPDEN TAVERN STAKES - C2 - 520 All clear. OPAWA MUSIC (J&D Fahey) infected left hind fifth toe. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 27 March 2006.
Race 3 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY SPRINT - C4 - 295 JANE'S COMMANDO was pushed down onto the rail by HOMEBUSH SAM into the first bend. SING VERA LYNN and HOMEBUSH GEORGE were also checked in this incident. These dogs filled the last four placings.
Race 4 30K PICK SIX LEG ONE - C2 - 520 ASTON SUPERSTAR was slow to jump. Into the bend the lure slowed noticably with the leaders LOCHINVAR RHETT and YENDY'S TITLE easing as a result affecting both dogs and those behind them. The lure regained speed and the race was completed without further incident. The race was declared a no race in accordance with Rule 75.2 The club electrician reported that the gearbox in the lure had stripped the drive gear resulting in a loss of full speed. The lure was replaced with the auxillary lure.
Race 5 NUTRI-ZING SPRINT FEATURE - R/A - 295 LOCHINVAR ROCKET was slow from the outside box and when improving wide into the frist bend faultered free of interference pulling up and taking no further part in the race. A post race veterinary check revealed a fractured hock with the dog euthanased on humane grounds. LOCHINVAR ROCKETT (J&D Fahey) deceased.
Race 6 CHALLENGE OPAWA STAKES FINAL - C3f - 520 Into the bend HOMEBUSH SONYA, HOMEBUSH BUZZ and SIESMIC were tightened losing ground. HOMEBUSH BUZZ and HOMEBUSH SONYA lost all chance finishing at the rear. SIESMIC ran on late along the rail for a good third. HOMEBUSH WAVE (JT McInerney) hock strain. Rule 64.14. 28 days up to and including 17 April 2006.
Race 7 CONTAINERMAN SPRINT - C4/5 - 295 All clear. FOUR WAY DART (MM Grant) in season. Rule 64.10. 28 days up to and including 16 April 2006.
Race 8 EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR & TAB DASH FINAL - C3f - 295 The favourite CANDIAC BALE ran wide around the bend losing ground before finishing on in the straight for fourth. A post race veterinary check revealed nothing amiss.
Race 9 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C5 - 520 OHOKA FLIRT jumped to the lead from the boxes before being tightened by GLADY'S FRIDAY into the bend coming back on CLAN ONYX and YARRA RIVER. These two lost all chance finishing at the rear. OHOKA FLIRT recovered well to finish on late for third. YARRA RIVER was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed no injury.
Race 10 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C5 - 520 The favourite ANNA LEE WHISKEY drove to the lead into the first bend leading all the way before being run down late by a trailing WINSOME SECRET.
